  1. What part of "I'm not blaming the victims in this case" did you not understand? The rant was about something DIFFERENT but RELATED. Get it? Or do you need me to draw it out in Crayon?

  2. I traveled through Frankfurt twice in the last two weeks while I was going and returning from E-leave. I was constantly shaking my head at the other military members in the airport as they were SO easy to pick out. Now, don't get me wrong... I'm not blaming the victims in this case, but people need to be aware of how they are dressed and what they are carrying with them. I was able to pick out US military members easily because they were 1- wearing sage green fleece jackets or 2- wearing digital camo backpacks with name tapes and a big black stencil saying "US" on it 3- wearing combat boots and service T-shirts (i.e. Army PT t-shirt and a black t-shirt that read on the back US Army Military Police). Mind you I saw this at Riyadh and Doha as well as all these people were on my flight when we arrived there. I just wanted to go up to them and say "Hey! Thanks for making our flight a target!"

  4. Different strokes for different folks, I DO want to do pointy talky CAS or have any additional assets possible to improve SA and effectiveness. IR pointers don't work during the day, in urban situations, or in some environmental conditions. I certainly would not want the iPad to be the primary reference for CAS, but as another tool in the cockpit (aside from myself), I would welcome it. Perhaps it won't work in a fighter cockpit, but I don't have room for MFP's (or funding for them). It would be a very simple and economical fix to put an Ipad with velcro on a thigh strap, which should solve the issue of a wayward iPad surfing around the cockpit during a defensive maneuver. What you should really be wary of is the day we get X-Box controllers instead of a stick (yoke) and throttles.

  6. No bet. I am willing wager that Charlie Sheen will be the next Keith Richards or Ozzy Osbourne. He is going to live to be like 98 years old and nothing will ever stop him.

  7. I came across this for all you SAC guys who flew KC-135A's in late 60's and early 70's. NKAWTG.

  8. Check out my reply, as well as several others, in this thread. That will at least get you started. From there, ask away with any questions that you might have.
