  1. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you either 1) are drunk or 2) did not read one bit of my prior post. What can a student learn in four sorties? How to prep for a fighter brief and act during it. Wingman priorities. How to take a lesson learned and apply it to the next sortie. Notice I did not mention one thing regarding taking that particular skill and applying it in the future. And I can tell you a lot about the abilities of a student over the course of four rides. Also, your prayers have been answered. The generals are watching and the syllabus keeps growing. Apparently there are some folks with a little bit of experience in fighters, a basic arithmetic calculator to add up the costs, and lack the chip on the shoulder you so conspicuously display. The FTUs don't want IFF to go away and they don't want us to be a flight in a SUPT squadron. Believe it or not, they have a say in the process.

  2. Yes, I'm sure you're right. President Bush must have sent out a memo to all the three letter agencies and told them not to worry about UBL once we got involved in Iraq. By contrast, when President Obama took office, he has personally been walking around Pakistan searching for the terrorist. Unlike any previous President or human, President Obama can magically share his focus between Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Syria, healthcare reform, the stimulus packages, unemployment, and the Nobel Peace Prize all without decreasing any potential focus in any one of those areas. That reason and that reason alone is why UBL is dead. This is exactly what I was talking about with people injecting politics into this. The killing of bin Laden is the culmination of ten years of searching by countless people and agencies. President Obama may have given the order and one SEAL may have fired the shots, but thousands of people have been working on this for a long time. This is an American victory, not a Democratic or Republican victory. Anyone who tries to claim otherwise is simply trying to take advantage of the situation for political gain.

  3. IFF "Squadrons" have been a waste of money for years. 12 IP's for 4 students (DLF example, and thats being generous), SUPT T-38 flights have WAY (17) more students than that and it's run by a Captain (with less IP's). I guess they are doing something better by closing some of the squadrons, it's still a waste, make them flights in a UPT squadron and end it. IFF is a haze, what can you learn with 4 flights in a phase, next to nothing. I guess its a good deal though, lots of CT/direct support, 8-3 hours, no nights, and I wonder why they defend themselves. I hope the generals are watching.

  5. You guys must all be on the alternates plaque... down in the ladies room. I got news for you, molesting sheep in farmer Joes field after getting lost on the way to the target area is not what we consider a "victory." But hey, none of my business. My only concern is what your viagra does to those poor sheep. As for the Eagle guys, I dont even want to know about it.

  6. Not drunk (dammit) and still have my opinion, most IFF instructors still have their opinion that IFF matter's, like I said. I can go on and on about AB break turns, 400 some knot rate fights and even the argument of a center stick (guess its Eagle IFF, A-10 is much different). I just don't think IFF needs it's own entire squadron at the current level, maybe after the changes are made, but they been talking about changing the current squadrons for years and the latest proposal is just that, a proposal. And really, you don't want them talking any particular skill you are teaching and applying it in the future, whats the purpose? I've seen the growth in the IFF syllabus, ACM rides, really? AB, 6 degrees nose low and loosing sight, thats a great gameplan. Maybe the FTU's want it, then they should get it, but I know where to cut waste, make 1 IFF squadron at RND and ship everyone there, or make it a flight at a UPT base. I am open to a change of opinion on the subject, cause a lot of my bro's teach at IFF and it seems like a good deal, for the IP's.

  7. Non military here. I joined this sight to get insight into the fighter pilots world and I think I've gotten a bit of it. I am glad to have come across this post, but it seems the OP needs a brick wall to fall on his head. I cant imagine that the problem is any more complex than what was said in the boss letter. My dad was a poor country boy drafted during Vietnam. He hated the Army. As a kid, when my he told me I would hate the military, I couldnt understand how. A hearing loss prevented me from finding out, but over the years I have learned why many feel that way. Not that I wouldnt join even today if I could. I don't doubt that hard work and sacrifice builds character, but perhaps the military needs to move into the present and lose some of the retarded sacrificial attitude that would drive commanders to subject personnel fresh from combat deployments to readiness inspections and make trading a potentially better civilian life for a military career, a little more worth it. Just an outsiders opinion.

  8. Well excuse me for not checking IDs at the door. After reading two of your posts now, I'm absolutely positive you're an inbred meathed who thinks this... was meant for you, and have no doubt you really believe that this... is what people are "retarded" enough to think is behind your pathetic internet avatar. Nice sig by the way, "The average fighter pilot, despite his sometimes swaggering exterior, is very much capable of feelings such as love, affection, intimacy and caring. These feelings just don't involve anyone else" Anyone you know? Except for the swag, you fit the profile. And just so I am absolutely clear on what I think of you...
