  1. I've been out for 20 years, and I was just an enlisted life support puke (do they even call it that anymore?) Everybody wore BDU's, us, the Army, the Marines, the Navy...we all wore the same shit, with black boots and black or tan t-shirts and nobody gave a shit if you rolled your sleeves up or not, or if the zippers on your flight suit were up or down. Baseball caps with squadron insignia. Pilots bringing us beer on Fridays (this may still happen) The missile wing and guys in silos (I was at Ellsworth) and nuke-armed B-1's on the alert pad. Getting jacked up hard at the same pad for forgetting my password. PLZT goggles. The wing king walking in the shop one Monday morning to catch most of us lying on the counters and floor hooked up to 100% O2 to cure our hangovers, and he just laughed at us. I never wore a reflective belt, and in 4 years I never once witnessed an enlisted person of any rank try to correct an officer for anything, let alone a uniform issue.

  3. CougarDriver,... the tough part is getting the hours in a normal 3-4 year tour. That said, C-21 pilots do better than most. However... if the MC-12 appeals to you, then you should consider it. You'll get 2 months at Beale during your 10-11 months "in the MC-12", and it will give you a chance to look at the area, and check out the U-2. And if you decide the U-2 isn't for you, you will have the opportunity to transition to the MC-12 mission. If the MC-12 mission does not appeal to you, stay in the -21. Before you call us out in public, stract, maybe you should check with the one guy at Beale that works the Aerial Events issues for the Ops Group... oh wait!... That would be me! So... if you have an email from me or the 9 OG/CC saying we aren't going to be there, then please let me know. Thanks! BTW... if we do bring the U-2 there, please be sure to be at the Big House with us. Last time, we shut the place down. I don't recall any local drivers there when we did. Weak.

  4. You said it, brother. Watch this video about the Iowa Hawkeye wrestling team from 2002; Specifically listen to what Tom Brands says from 4:53-5:18. That is the type of attitude we need in this country.

  5. That's going to be one fast piano burning at Mach 2! Post pictures, please! Excellent way to pick-up an old RAF tradition.

  7. We have identified the root cause. This is the kind of thought process that is killing an organization whose #1 job it is to "get the mission done". This is the type of cancer that needs to be eradicated from the USAF, and is unfortunately being spread as gospel by USAF management at numerous levels...and the young and impressionable are buying it. Additionally, this also gets back to the OTHER problem that yields these types of moronic tirades from the SNCO corps: O-6s and above who allow it to be this way. These Chiefs all work for commissioned officers whose job it is to establish the policy that the Chiefs execute. When a CMSgt is publicly offering critiques on officership, it is because his boss is tacitly endorsing it. We know this because, as soon as an officer critiques said Chief on stepping out of his lane, the Chief is quick to cry to daddy about the insolence of said officer. The circle of life is completed when daddy O-6 lays into the officer for his 'disrespect' of the SNCO...instead of there being any discussion or consideration of the reason the officer offered the critique to the Chief. The O-6s can stop this trainwreck at any time they so desire. It is 100% in their capability, authority, and responsibility to do so.

  8. Along with 24/7/365 Looking Glass flights. I was an RJ guy ('86-'94) but shared the same flightline (along with NEACP). Pretty interesting times indeed.
