No, no...don't help

Her .ppt is all well and good, but my greatest concern with whether or not she drives 30 or 31.

I'm on the fence with this one. I've seen enough drooling retards in the military to believe that this could indeed be legit. I've got this funny feeling that she is one of those people who makes it clear exactly what would happen to her boss if she were held to a standard fitting for rank and responsibility (and I'll leave it at that).

Truth. How much REAL thought do you think happens there? Why debate things that matter now, that you have to use deductive reasoning to formulate an argument that is supportable? Why not make you debate something that 6900 books has been written about (all of the books are in the library of course)...? If we require you to THINK and articulate... some people might fail... quell horror. I know two guys, both WO's, both school selects, who got SOS Instructor with IDE follow-on as their school on their first look. Think those guys wanted to go? Think they were at the bottom of the pile? I dont. Both are O-5s, DO's, on their way to being sq/cc's. I think theyre doing fine. I also think they are most definitely the exception. Chuck

We have identified the root cause. This is the kind of thought process that is killing an organization whose #1 job it is to "get the mission done". This is the type of cancer that needs to be eradicated from the USAF, and is unfortunately being spread as gospel by USAF management at numerous levels...and the young and impressionable are buying it. Additionally, this also gets back to the OTHER problem that yields these types of moronic tirades from the SNCO corps: O-6s and above who allow it to be this way. These Chiefs all work for commissioned officers whose job it is to establish the policy that the Chiefs execute. When a CMSgt is publicly offering critiques on officership, it is because his boss is tacitly endorsing it. We know this because, as soon as an officer critiques said Chief on stepping out of his lane, the Chief is quick to cry to daddy about the insolence of said officer. The circle of life is completed when daddy O-6 lays into the officer for his 'disrespect' of the SNCO...instead of there being any discussion or consideration of the reason the officer offered the critique to the Chief. The O-6s can stop this trainwreck at any time they so desire. It is 100% in their capability, authority, and responsibility to do so.

Hate to add another old guy view but you might find it amusing. Picture this: Mid 80s, I'm a young Lt first assignment dude at Bitburg, SQ/CC calls me in and says we gotta a slot for SOS do you wanna go...I say no rather stay and fly BFM..he is one of the Vietnam era F-4 patches...his response was cool: I'll find someone else!

Those of us returning to fly got our training dates and locations yesterday. Looks like the POC at AFPC did a great job for all of us and it's very appreciated. Looking at the list I would say most guys (if not all) got their base of choice. Here are some of the details for those interested. First guys will begin training (either H2O, SERE, or Refresher) in March with first PCS's taking place as early as Jun and the last of us (C-5 guys) PCS'g most likely around this time next year. Refresher course will be prior Phase 3 a/c. T-38 course will be roughly 10 weeks, Tones roughly 7 weeks, and the two T-44 guys will tentatively spin up in the T-6 for roughly 7 weeks. Refresher training will take place at the various UPT bases (Vance, Laughlin, and Columbus) throughout the year. Knowing now that we'll be spinning up at the UPT bases are there any IP's/FAIP's that have been a part of setting up the Refresher course who have any gouge or a general overview of how the training's going to look? If so, any info would be appreciated. Thanks. -Ego
