There just no pleasing some people. I can't fucking believe how much dudes are whining about what some other dudes were wearing.
The right guy got sworn in today. This is a good thing. Keep a little perspective and stop looking for shit to whine about.
The ACC Facebook page actually said it was only for CSAF and CMSAF, and only for ceremonial functions... isn't the point of a uniform for us all to look the same? It makes no sense to me to have a separate one for just two people.
Edit: spelling/grammar
"Sweet mother of God, what the fuck are those idiots doing?"
Never thought I'd say this, but those two clowns make McPeak look like a sartorial genius.
So is Norty's new legacy that we will not only be wearing blues every week, but now we'll be wearing the USAF band dress uniform? Discuss amongst yourselves...
I ATTRACT the ladies without a uniform (used to, now i'm just married), in my head at least I did.
I say keep what we have, lets start building some kind of tradition. I think the dislike and WTF moment is because we have never seen this uniform in this sort of ceremony. I guess to someone it made sense, but it makes me wonder what these people thought we were going to think once we laid our eyes on this monstrosity.
How bout this, lets just be the AF and stop trying to be someone we aren't. That'll be a start.
Heh. Completely knocked on my can by amazing Olympians winning Gold Medals and singing the whole National Anthem during the presentation ceremony.
I started this thread years ago... Christ, can it be that long!? We continue to have buffoonery, but folks seem to at least "give a shit."
My hat's off to the US Olympic Committee for the preparation that I've heard they gave to the Olympic Athletes, who would be on the world's stage for all to see, in preparation for paying respect to the country that they continue to represent so proudly.
It's so nice to be able to respond to a rant of mine from years ago with smiles...
Best regards to you all,
Linda
Goodbye General Schwartz. You left us with a demoralized, broken, and hollow force more concerned with minutiae, posturing, and appearances than flying, fighting, and winning. May your successor right this sinking ship quickly.
