  4. OK, there's threads on taking vehicles to Germany and the UK, so unless you're going somewhere else I strongly suggest you find and read them. If you're going to either of the aforementioned countries, than you had better learn quickly how to or your experiences on this forum will get painful really quick. But, since I'm in a generous mood this evening, you are "aloud" to ship a second POV to Europe on your own dime. I did so when we went to Belgium in 2002. It's not cheap, and you have to take into consideration that every major US base in Europe has a "lemon lot" where you're usually able to pick up a good deal on a second vehicle, many times a local specs one. So unless your second car is something you really can't live without, it might be cheaper to sell it and buy a second one over there. Last recommendation, go look up the word "allowed" in a dictionary...

  5. I have been absolutely screaming for years about the loss of orderly rooms. I too, like the other old codgers here, remember those days well. The admin dudes/dudettes were called, "702 troops". Then, they became, "IMs". Then, they became gone. Finance was a trip to the CBPO (consolodated base personnel office) building to sign out your gangsta roll for your trip. If you actually had a Diner's Club credit card, you just stapled your receipts to your voucher, upon return, turned them in to the desk, waited 15. The finance officer would review it and the A1C with the pistol in the cash cage would issue you some cabbage. Even the mere mentioning of bringing back "O" rooms makes a bit of drizzle run down my leg. You young guys are in for a real treat, if this is true. P.S. I hope the guy who invented DTS lives a thousand years with his shame.

  6. New wars are fun. They start to suck when they drag on. We'd beat Iran's ass pretty quick, so hopefully we'd be out of there before the E-9s show up.

  7. All you'd have to do is go to one of the bases where the Herks and A-10s are in the first year or two and you wouldn't have to worry about any Chiefs being there.

  8. I'd deploy to fight Iran if it meant I didn't have to put cover sheets on my TPS reports, or whatever queep it is I am doing at the moment. edit: verb, noun, adjectives... These are foreign concepts to me.

  9. Stop loss. Know it, learn it, live it in your scenario. With it's cousin, involuntary recall for those with any sort of inactive reserve committment.
