Simmer down Francis. The fact that you think "Air Medals" gives you some sort of special ######ing street cred around here speaks more about you than anything else you've said.5 points

Aircraft in the Air Force inventory are the shrinking resourse. You know...reading comprehension and all. Cheers! BL1 point

Are you aware that the RQ-4 mission over Fukushima was about 20 hours long? At approx $48K/hr (not including link time), it was a $1M mission to get imagery. There were other platforms that could have obtained the kind a similar product for a lot less. So let's get back to the issue of "is the MC-12 the right aircraft for the mission being discussed". I would argue "no". Looking at flooded out areas using an MX-15 camera is not ideal. In fact, there are Civil Air Patrol aircraft that are more suited to certain portions of this mission.1 point

Pretty sure Clinton was impeached for perjury...not for boffing the intern(s)... In the end, it doesn't matter does it? He's through, America's lost another role model, and it's a damn shame.1 point

We could also use the A-10 to augment local police forces in car chases. Skank sounds exactly like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory.1 point

I'm pissed at the general. The top dog can dip his wick but husbands and wives on the same base got the book thown at them for stepping into the spouse's room. And so on with other examples. He should have stuck with porn, at least that won't get jealous and send hateous e-mails to other women "trying to steal the man." Broadwell is Al Qaeda. Out (PS, "hateous" is mine and original)1 point

Saw it last night - great movie. Of course they missed on a point or two. (Like accelerating to get through the severe turbulence faster.) But it wasn't really an aviation movie, it was about addiction and struggling with what it is to be human again and reclaim the truth. Denzel Washington did such a great job with the character that the less than real dynamics didn't matter at all. Good casting, good dialogue. Really well-done movie. The funniest thing is that my passengers are coming up to me at work. I was buying a magazine in Honolulu to read on my redeye to Dulles this week and some lady asked me if I had seen it yet. "It's really kind of frightening to realize that sort of thing might be happening." She told me. It took all my self control to not answer: "No, ma'am - that sort of thing only occurs at Southwest............... .....and Delta." Too funny.1 point

I prefer to use the simplest solution as being the best on this one. Petraeus is the best known officer during this time, and he did a great job from what I understand. What I don't understand is when people pass moral judgement on something they truly don't have all the facts on. While his actions are not above board, I think it is hard for any of us to put ourselves in his shoes for a while. I remember reading Gen Old's bio a while back and how he had an affair with his secretary after his change of command during Vietnam. It seemed it was something he needed at the time, and his marriage was in shambles. Maybe he needed a little strange, but who knows. Countless powerful men have had mistresses, but we now live in a world where it is incredibly hard to have secrets. I wonder what life would have been like for JFK is youtube was around.1 point

https://www.thedailys...paula-broadwell I'd say, the book was aptly titled. Embedded with "peaches" to write a books titled "All-In, the Education of Petraeus", you can't make this shit up...1 point

I say put your tin foil hats away, he got busted with his hand in the cookie jar, and if its her, not bad. I don't advocate what he did, but have you seen the mistresses of Clinton and Arnie.....really?1 point

I think the point missed is that if people want to be fucked up, fine so long as you don't fuck with me and mine. Once that happens, kid gloves are off. If they back down after we give em a black eye, they can go back to their sheep fucking ways for all I care as long as they leave me the fuck alone. I'm sick of trying to help people when they don't seem to want the help, they need to want it or no amount of help will amount to anything. Yes, CT operations will require dudes on the ground but we don't need to get endlessly embroiled with local politics. Kill the assholes who need killing and move on. Government rules with the consent of the governed, either explicit or tacit.1 point

Never met the guy, but if he's still got a hair on his old fighter pilot ass, he'd throw up on me if I looked him in the eye and called him "sweet and charming". Not sure what your background is, but you lose any credibility you have with this statement..."trashing the reputation of one of this nation's last living heroes." You obviously have NO idea what you are talking about because our nation is blessed with thousands of living heroes, most of them under the age of 30 (many under 20). They are fighting in places you've probably never heard of, and are performing acts of heroism that make breaking the sound barrier seem kind of boring. But thanks for the lecture.1 point
