  1. I'm completely against the idea. It is none of my Commanders fucking business what tools I legally own and possess outside of work. They don't get to decide what kind of car I drive or when I get to drive it -- and cars aren't even a Constitutional (and SCOTUS-reaffirmed) personal right. Thinking someone might be at risk of suicide is not in any way an excuse for carte blanche authorization for a Commander to pre-emptively remove one of their natural God-given rights. It is shameful that a 28-year Army Medical Corps officer thinks that treatment of a symptom (ergo, access to firearms) is in any way an effective treatment for what is absolutely a tragedy and an epidemic (military suicides). How about you "medical professionals" use some of that education you have to figure out the actual root cause and treat that instead? Flight Doc: "Captain, I'm aware that you are seeing me complaining of massive bleeding from your hand being cut off, but instead of actually treating the amputation, we are going to tape your mouth shut so you cannot scream in pain and so you won't bother any of your coworkers with your screams. Come on back in a week and we'll see how you are doing."

  5. Here here. I'll line up any day of the week to get first punch on the guys who sexually assaulted her. I'm certain any dude I have flown with/against or shared a squadron with would do the same. Even if it happened in the middle of song. But the fact that she didn't, AND STILL HASN'T, gone after the dumb fricks who sexually assaulted her, that makes me mad. She has a responsibility. And it isn't to try and lock up every dude in the Air Force. It's to take down the actual predators and protect her fellow female service members.

  6. Any chance I can file an IG complaint over all of these ridiculous inspections for creating a hostile work environment?

  7. YGBFSM. It's Iowa. This is the most exciting thing in Iowa since the invention of corn. Or maybe Field of Dreams being filmed there. Throw your fist in the air, holler 'Merica and go about your business, people.

  10. https://www.kcci.com/news/central-iowa/Pilot-on-no-fly-status-after-incident-over-suburbs/-/9357080/17658884/-/13g9drcz/-/index.html "The pilot was headed from Jacksonville to Sioux City so his jet could get painted." "The Guard is now investigating and the pilot was sent back to Jacksonville, Fla., on a commercial flight." How else would he have flown home unless he was there to pick up a jet also?

  11. It's already in the desert. "Get rid of any offensive materials" was briefed to my crew as we stepped this morning. Hopefully this doesn't include our dorm room walls.

  14. The thing that pisses me off the most is that she is going after fighter pilots for creating a hostile work environment but didn't go after guys who sexually assaulted her. Her failure to report and prosecute the sexual assault downrange likely caused other sexual assaults. When that guy realized he got away with sexual assault, how many people really think he became a model soldier after that? If (probably not even an if) that guy sexually assaulted another woman later, this chick is indirectly responsible because she may have been able to put him in jail where trash like that belong. She allowed an environment that basically encouraged sexual assault by not reporting it but drew the line at hearing there might be porn in the vault?

  15. I don't know anyone that I work with that feels that they're underpaid. We make damn good money and enjoy great benefits. Comparable civilian pilot jobs make far less initially, and take a while to catch up. The biggest difference is improved quality of life in the civilian sector, or at least the freedom to have some sort of control over your life. Start cutting/ delaying the pension and benefits (it WILL happen) and suddenly putting up with multiple 365s to shitholes and a PCS to Cannon as your wife and kids leave you doesn't sound so appealing.

  16. I really hope the Squadron Bar Daily Pic & Video thread doesn't get inserted into her report as more evidence of sex-crazed fighter pilots. I'm just glad I'm a heavy pilot, where we celebrate women.

  18. The response to the blues Monday question was crafted before the man took the office. And it looks like it was designed as a test...a test of leadership to the MAJCOM CCs and on down. I think it was to see how they lead and who has any balls. Out

  20. I don't understand. Previous CSAF implemented a policy. Current CSAF says he has no such policy but leaves it up to Wing Commanders to deal with it as they see fit. Until they address it, no policy exists. Unless wing commanders proactively implement a policy, I think you're legal to wear whatever the fook you want.
