  1. Jesus fucking Christ. Where do these people come from? Where in the Constitution does it say you have the right to buy leaded gas? It doesn't. Therefore, regulate it all you want (10th amendment disagreement aside). Where does it say in the Constitution that my right to bear arms shall not be infringed? The Second Amendment. See the difference there numb nuts?

  6. Unconstitutional is fucking unconstitutional, regardless if it is in Albany or Dallas. Not liking new taxes or traffic laws ect. Is reasons you mentioned to vote with your feet if you don't like it, however you are garunteed your Constitutional rights anywhere on American soil, and its not up for debate.

  7. Ahh...so since you seem to have it all figured out (regardless if you're a 2nd Amendment 'supporter' or not), let me ask you: When does the 2nd Amendment no longer 'stand'? If they come back and ban magazines to 5 rounds will it still stand? What if they ban bolt action rifles--still stand? Will it still stand if they only allow single round shotguns? When in your wisdom is the line drawn? That's great--but who says I have to follow your same home defense set-up? By your argument, I could say that guys don't need vasectomies because they could just use condoms. Or are we talking about personal choices and freedoms/liberties here? So States can now violate The Constitution?...as long as I can move to a different State that doesn't, then it's cool, right? So Montana can ban access to Facebook because 'hey, you can move to a State that doesn't...or maybe they can limit you to only 5 posts a day, as long as I can move to a State that won't limit my number of posts? Maybe a State can have limitations to the 13th Amendment, as long as people aren't slaves the entire day...besides, the poor guys can move to a State that follows the 13th Amendment, so all is good, right? I'm very interested in reading your insightful replies...

  9. So just so I'm clear, we can't hold politicians to anything they say...even if it's something they propose in a bill, if according to a few/some/most it will never become law? In that case, there should have been no backlash against Akin in the MO Senate race because him saying 'legitimate rape', etc doesn't really matter because it would have near zero chance of ever affecting any laws--is this correct? Same for the entire GOP--the majority of the party's politicians call themselves pro-life, and occassionally put up bills to deny abortion, but it really doesn't matter because since 1973, abortion rights have always been upheld--they have never been taken away. Also, thank God folks in NY don't have to get rid of their 'pre-ban 1994 high capacity magazines'...oh wait, yeah, they have to get rid of them or become a criminal. Sure sounds like Dems coming for their guns, or at least gun magazines to me. https://www.governor.ny.gov/2013/gun-reforms Try again man...

  11. I suggest that you look at the decision from a different perspective i.e. one of minimizing regret. You're giving yourself a 70% chance of being offered continuation. Rejecting the CSB is clearly the better choice in this outcome -- you'll reasonably expect to live a long, healthy life and will be money ahead under High-3 50% (as opposed to REDUX). You run a less than likely (30%), but not insignificant, chance of non-continuation - in which case you would be given $100K separation pay. (I'd verify the number). The reserves and guard, to the best of my knowledge, would not be a reasonable expectation as they typically only take passed over O-3's. (I'd verify this as well). I assume you don't need the money today (i.e. can't put it to immediate use which would increase future cash flow). Additionally, it sounds like you might have to pay back a significant amount of the $30K if you seperate before 20 (for whatever reason -- again verify w/ MPC). As an 80yr old, which would you regret more? 1). Not getting the higher amount in retirement or 2) passing up the oppurtunity to get a little more than $100K leading up to seperation instead of a baseline of $100K (expected amount of seperaton without the CSB portion). While $100k won't come close to replacing the value of a 20 yr retirement, would $1XX (the 100k plus the pro-rated portion of CSB) really put you on your feet that much better? If you see the delta making a significant difference in your life (such as paying for law school or not), then take it. Otherwise reject and take your 70% chance of getting a 50% retirement at 20.

  13. Air Force Aviation is much more competitive. Compared to the Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard I would say the Air Force has the best talent coming in the door, but that is just my opinion. This in turn means that the people you are working with and for are generally higher talent individuals. Then there is the life style...people gripe about the Air Force having some shitty locations. But there are some shitty places to fly airplanes for the NAVY as well. NAS China Lake and NAS Yuma are just 2 that come to mind. Additionally, the Air Force revolves around a flight line. The NAVY mindset revolves around subs, surface warfare, and carriers. So as an aviator your upward potential is somewhat limited from the start, because to the Navy you are no more or less important that SWOs or sub guys. As far as bases most NAVY bases look like they haven't seen any new construction since about 1970, where as most AF bases that we are currently using have torn down and rebuilt the gym 3 times since 1970. Family life. AF wins hands down. For as shitty as the AF family life can be I have yet to talk to a NAVY family that has it better. The reason everyone is mocking you in this thread is because you only have to talk to 1 or 2 people with anything between their ears to get all of the answers I just gave you. Which makes the decision of which one you want to sign up for clearly obvious, but as you said in your opening line it sounds like you probably competed for the Air Force and were found lacking so anchors away matey!

  19. Well Genius... you freeze Government spending at a minimum. You don't hire anymore Federal employees. I'm sitting in meetings everyday right now talking about sequestration and the SES bosses keep saying how terrible things are going to be and then in the same breath say that there is no hiring freeze and to keep the process going. I run a small office of just 6 people and was just told last week that two more positions were funded making $90-110K per year! Let’s see... how about we eliminate the countless programs that just don't work. How about we eliminate entire Departments that the Federal government has no business running in the first place... we'll start with the Department of Education. How about we stop aid to foreign countries... and I'm not talking about just the countless poor third world countries where we don't want them to harbor terrorists; let’s stop aid to Ireland and Spain. Yeah, we give foreign aid to effing Ireland and Spain!!! How about this novel concept... "What did we spend last year? Hmmm... let’s not spend as much this year!" Saying you will take money from the Military and give it to some Green Energy company instead isn't cutting spending. When what you spend next year is billions of dollars more than what you are spending this year, you did not cut spending!!!

  20. Aarp, here's your if you want to know more about PRK and LASIK. Congrats on the schools you've been accepted to. Yes, you should visit detachments as it is certainly a part of the school experience you're choosing. Part of what they do is recruiting. You're at a great time in your life. Enjoy it and good luck.

  21. Umteen million ESPs for low pitch stops, takes forever to get off the LRF zone, loves to call themselves the "Super Hercules" when calling on common upon entering the SR route, can't do a no-flap for training, tells you that you oversped anything by 1 knot, minus 2 thinking brains in the front end, and still let a lowly E model beat all of them at the last Rodeo. Sorry, back on topic. spinner is correct on points 1-3, at least until the AF pulls another krazy Ivan. Out
