  2. Dave Ramsey is only good for people who don't understand money and got themselves buried in debt and can't get out. His methods aren't good for growing long-term wealth. No ARMs did not get us into this mess. People buying houses they couldn't afford with mortgage terms they couldn't understand got us into this mess. Adjustable rate mortgages are actually a great tool for those who understand exactly what they are getting into. Read the fine print, know what your interest rate is allowed to reset to and how often. Make sure you can afford that payment as well. If you are using the ARM because you can't afford the final payment rate then you are wrong. If you are using it because you can afford the loan either way but want to take advantage of the lower rate in the near term that is why they exist. Just like those scary credit cards that Dave Ramsey tells you are the spawn of satan. Well used debt is actually a very strong tool to utilize. You shouldn't be afraid to do things just because somebody else got themselves screwed by not understanding what they agreed to. Using leverage appropriately will lead to a much higher net worth in the end than being so terrified of debt you won't ever invest in your future.

  6. Dude, didn't you know that it would be a hand-holding Utopia where children play in lollipop fields? Lazy shitbags would find a work ethic and contribute to the grand socialist nation while our one-time enemies vacationed to and lauded our beautiful land.

  7. Where did you grow up? Ever know anyone on welfare? Ever had friends or family on public assistance? Ever work or know someone that worked welfare stuff? Ever know a lady that wanted more kids to get more welfare? When a President/Political Party/Government works hard to get more people on the gov't dole and tie political office to those people's livlihood of no work and pay, its a no brainer that they want Dems in office. If you know these types of people, then you begin to see their mentality that its cool/wonderful/fine/widely accepted/just dandy to be on any form of welfare and the more the better. All those speeches basically say, hey, richie rich wants to cut your checks. Richie Rich needs to pay more, not you poor people. I'd rather the man say something more like, get off your ass, get a job, and start taking care of yourself. Nah, would never happen, not his style. Nevermind, I'd rather not know where you grew up. PS: Strangely, this whole debate reminds me of that discussion about a jet trying to takeoff from a gigantic treadmill. Out

  11. Jesus fucking Christ. Where do these people come from? Where in the Constitution does it say you have the right to buy leaded gas? It doesn't. Therefore, regulate it all you want (10th amendment disagreement aside). Where does it say in the Constitution that my right to bear arms shall not be infringed? The Second Amendment. See the difference there numb nuts?

  12. Unconstitutional is fucking unconstitutional, regardless if it is in Albany or Dallas. Not liking new taxes or traffic laws ect. Is reasons you mentioned to vote with your feet if you don't like it, however you are garunteed your Constitutional rights anywhere on American soil, and its not up for debate.

  14. Back to the DFC, I'm surprised a commander was able to look himself/herself in the mirror when writing this,... especially the "crippled tanker" part. A crippled tanker. Really. Well,... "crippled" with 4 good engines and flight controls, anyways. This seems more like what I would expect: The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Merrel F. Adams, Jr. for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as a Pilot with Marine Attack Squadron 121, Marine Aircraft Group Twelve, First Marine Aircraft Wing in connection with operations against insurgent communist (Viet Cong) forces in the Republic of Vietnam. On 5 February 1967, Captain Adams launched as Flight Leader of a section of two A-4E aircraft in support of an emergency retraction mission of a twenty-four man, Marine reconnaissance team which was surrounded and temporarily pinned down by a numerically superior enemy force in heavily wooded, mountainous terrain in the vicinity of Chu Lai. A previous helicopter extraction attempt had been aborted due to intense hostile fire from an estimated 130 Viet Cong positioned within 200 meters of the landing zone. Arriving over the besieged area, Captain Adams expertly assessed the situation, selected his approach pattern and pinpointed the enemy positions. Skillfully and without regard for his own safety, he placed his first two bombs directly on the enemy emplacements within 100 meters of the Marines’ position. Commencing his second run, Captain Adams placed two bombs only fifty meters from friendly positions. Continuing his low level attacks with unerring accuracy, Captain Adams silenced one enemy gun position and reduced the volume of enemy fire delivered from the tree line surrounding the landing zone. After expending his ordnance, Captain Adams fearlessly made repeated dummy runs over the Viet Cong positions until the helicopters had safely retracted the entire reconnaissance team. His unwavering determination and complete disregard for his own safety contributed significantly to the accomplishment of an extremely hazardous mission and accounted for an estimated twenty-five enemy killed. Captain Adams’ exceptional aeronautical skill, resolute courage and steadfast devotion to duty in the face of extreme danger were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and of the United States Naval Service.
