  1. Have you seen whether or not "ole 777" is parked in his driveway?

  2. Yes, because everything said so far is absolutely true. Or it is all bullshit and you are all getting worked up for nothing.

  3. Doubtful, if anything it only demonstrates the uselessness of the gun control measures (similar to the ones currently in California) proposed by she-whose-name-will-not-be-spoken... A legitimate argument could be made that armed, law-abiding citizens could have defended themselves from this criminal and possibly even stopped his killing spree from spreading as far as it did. Gun control laws don't get rid of illegal guns nor do they disarm criminals.

  5. Don't know you from Adam, but for those who are wondering...from my second-hand knowledge of recent talks, this bit lends a good bit to Liquid's credibility. Post on brotha-man. Sometimes the naysayers and doomcallers on here just get to be too much.

  6. Much more accurate. Seriously dude? Open your fucking ears and close your man pleaser. No one is saying you or anyone else is crazy for wanting a family. I've been happily married for close to a decade. I literally have 2.5 kids and a cocker spaniel. What people are saying is stop trying to plan your life 17 years from now when you obviously don't have the next 2 figured out. You want to be a pilot and have a family? Here is a list of shit you haven't done yet: 1 - Get accepted into an commissioning program 2 - Do well enough in a commissioning program to be rewarded with a pilot slot 3 - Medically qualify for a pilot slot 4 - Attend and complete IFS 5 - Attend and copmplete UPT 6 - Attend and complete a FTU 7 - Make it through a 10 year flying career without being medically DQ'd, force shaped, or killed And that's just for the Air Force. I hope your attitude here is just an internet tough-guy thing. If you seriously can't handle criticism or being mocked you are looking into the wrong career field. I can assure you your time in the pilot community will be short and embarrassing - like your pecker. If you have the desire and motivation to make your dreams happen, and you can shut your mouth and open your ears long enough to learn from those that haven been doing this since you were watching teletubbies, you'll be able to make the family situation happen.

  7. I don't post often, but I just wanted to say that I am 99% sure that I know who Liquid is, and that he is the real deal. In fact I hope Liquid is on here often and taking what is said here to heart, and maybe even relaying what he is learning as appropriate.

  8. ...and then the AF would have a decent grip on your ballsack, no thanks.

  9. While I initially thought what you describe above was completely plausible and scary as shit, I then realized that Big Blue NEEDS dudes to take the bonus. We all know that the only way AFPC can make an attempt to manage the rated force is by using the bonus as a crutch. If they started handing shit sandwiches to those who signed up for a few more years, then no one would sign up. -9-

  16. Devils advocate could say they will send the bonus signers to RPAs because those dudes can't opt out. Why send a free agent to a bad deal when they can punch and you burn several 11Fs just to get one taker? They can send one dude with a 7-year bonus commitment to the bad deal and get two full assignments out of him. That's what scares me.

  17. Gents, There are lots of points that can be discussed here...I would just caution you on linking cause and effect on many of the things that you have discussed here. Sometimes appearances can be deceiving. I have seen the PRF with the guy that had all the boxes checked and he did not receive a DP based on "strength of record" or lack of it. I have also seen the guy that did not have all the boxes checked but had a strong record otherwise and he got a DP. I am sure there are places where Q-3's are withheld for the favored guy, as a matter of fact, I have witnessed it. I fought against it and lost. However, I have also been at places where a Q-3 was a Q-3 and it didn't matter who the person was. The major criteria used was the flying violation and whether a Form 8 was the appropriate vehicle to document the issue. As an aside and to avoid this becoming a topic, I am not a proponent of the Q-3 in all situations, but they do have their place. Without calling anyone out, I have also watched several people volunteer to deploy at minimal dwell times and then not have time to complete their AAD. In ONE case (a case I am familiar with, so only an anecdotal story) this guy used the deployment as an excuse to not complete his AAD. As far as I know, he received a P. However, I can confirm that he was passed over. IMHO, the right decision was made. My point is that the system does work sometimes. There are always going to be situations where you believe your buddy got screwed over, etc, but I would caution you that you may not have all the information. You probably have just the information that your buddy wants you to have and not much/any of the deragatory information. Continue to rage against the up or out system and push for change. Just don't be surprised when the system that you signed up for continues to move down the road while you are left standing on the side of it. PME and an AAD are not very difficult to get accomplished...would I like to see the AAD masked for promotion to O-4? Yes. However, the idea that everyone deserves to make Major or is capable of leading multiple teams is not accurate.

  20. As another "pilot hopeful," I should probably just sit back and shut up, but I can't help myself... Above is what would've likely been a better response...

  21. Then you don't know anything about the military in general, and pilots in particular. If you want to ask a bunch of pilots what they think about your specific life choices with your fat wife, 2.5 kids, white picket fence and a golden retriever, be prepared to be addressed as a clueless college kid who is probably spending too much time in the library and not enough drinking shitty beer and chasing tail. But thanks for letting us know you are an oversensitive douchebag on your second post. You could have just as easily walked down to your ROTC detachment and asked them these same questions. Since they probably are looking for people they would have spared your sensitive ego the sarcastic and patronizing comments. Good luck.
