  1. Got me. I'd never seen it in Japan or Korea drawn that way, but that obviously doesnt mean it wasn't. One last point, pretty much the only people that don't know the swastika did not originate with the Nazi party, or does not have a much deeper meaning than the twisted meaning the Nazi's applied to it are ignorant. So, yeah, same deal with "Don't tread on me". We have some ignorant people ignoring, or too ignorant for history that think it only applies to Tea Baggers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

  2. Actually, you're wrong. The Nazi swastika and the Buddhist swastika are inverted. I see the point you're making, but make it correctly, or you look like my 10 year old who knows a tiny bit of everything, so he thinks he knows it all. Then I tell him nobody likes a know-it-all... 6. Maybe you should consider the fact fighter pilots have the highest "real world" SA on what actually works/is required in the mission sets currently executed by fighter aircraft (referring to well beyond CAS...we won't be doing this stuff forever). Of course there is a sense of self-preservation when it comes to future jobs, desire to continue in manned aviation, etc...I won't deny that. However, dudes deep in RPA programs, etc. are so removed from said missions/have ZERO SA on the actual missions (beyond what they've read/been briefed), they work with "conceptual" SA. It's all theory, works-great-in-a-vacuum, etc. It shouldn't be a surprise when folks who actually sit in the seat and fly shoot valid holes in the "realistic ability" of different programs. Yep, we'll eventually get there, but there's real, valid reasons why people are not the level of RPA-lovers others think they should be. And it has extremely little to do with wanting to preserve our future jobs.

  7. I can't believe the threshold for "journalism" these days... I think that about covers it. The shoot down of EXTORTION 17 was a horrible event for the US military, and more specifically the SOF community. The preposterous conspiracy theories surrounding it are an insult to the heroes that died that day. I'm also tired of only reading about the SEALs that died with no mention of the Air Force CCT and PJs on board or the Army helo crew that also perished. People trying to paint this as some kind of "set up" make me sick. These men were on their way into battle and some muj got a lucky shot off. Period. At least they were visited by a couple GBUs and some 40 and 105mm a few days later. Here's a toast to the heroes of EXTORTION 17.....

  8. Absolutely. The only "extras" that should be paid should incentivize job performance, not encouraging dependency. We're swerving from the thread. My point: whatever bennies any Ssgt or Capt gets, all Ssgts and Capts get. What you choose to do with yours is up to you. Stay single, or spend it on/with family. Further derail: next idea that goes along with this one is: no ADSCs. Ever. For anything. Stay or go? Your call, anytime. But no retirement until 20, and min rank to go to 20 is Msgt and Lt Col. HYT at 18 for both Tsgts and Majs. No partials, no vsp, no bonus... all or nothing from day 1. Back to the thread: if gays get 10 days PTDY for "marriage", then everyone gets 10 days PTDY for "marriage".

  10. My favorite quote from that ridiculous article. "Administration leaks that emerged after the bin Laden raid prompted members of Team 6 to worry about their safety. For example, Michael Strange told his father he was working on a will before he returned to Afghanistan in the summer of 2011, his father said." Well I sure as hell hope he was working on a will before he returned, he probably worked on one every time he deployed, he has a dangerous as shit job. Even those of us without a job that dangerous when we deploy still have one.

  11. Wrong. There are no questions if people simply read the investigation report. It is accurate and yes, I do know the entire story - regrettably. A terrible tragedy, and horrible loss. There is no coverup here, and no hiding of anything that should be made public. Classified is... classified. My understanding is that family were briefed on all that was pertinent to the causes, including non-publicly releasable information. This is grandstanding by congress, and using families as chess pieces to look like they are tough on the DOD and to get headlines.

  12. You got it all wrong... an FE with two Masters degrees who just cross flowed from a 130J landed gear up flying solo in a C-17; turns out he was sexually harassing the gay singer from Tops in Blue at the time that he was planning the Christmas Party with when he learned he got passed over for a second time for Lt Col and got non-continued. Now he doesn't know what to do because he wanted to sign the bonus that got delayed and isn't sure if he can still transfer his GI Bill to his kids. All of this happened while landing at the wrong airport in Tampa when he was supposed to be landing in Benghazi, but just as he was manually calculating TOLD he got a call from both Obama and Clinton telling him not to go. He was planning on getting out any day now anyway when the Airlines start their massive hiring wave! I guess they already had the court martial and he got convicted by a bunch of shoes on the jury, but a 3 Star overturned the verdict. So when all was said and done... it was pretty much a long week for Rainman!
