  2. There's always ways to "pay" for the tobacco.... Also, you should shank somebody right when you get there, so everybody knows you're not a bitch.

  3. Not a single day in my entire career (including ROTC) have I even worn anything other than white socks with a flight suit, ABUs, DCUs or BDUs. Granted it was some SNCO and not my boss, but I was walking into the chow hall at the Deid once and had some douche E-8 First Shirt ask me if he could do a sock check on me... I said, "Hey Senior, if you want to check my socks then I'm dropping my pants right here for you to do it... and don't think I won't!" He decided that a sock check wasn't necessary... and my 1 Star boss that was in PTs who I was having lunch with had a little impromptu "counseling session" with the Shirt about harassing airmen.

  4. Are you kidding? Listening to the guys talk about pre-OEF/OIF days makes me jealous. I would love to get back to those days!

  5. I think he kind of has a point. We all complain about deployments (and for many people they will continue past OEF to Africa and wherever else) but when we're just training and not going to Afghanistan to actually hack the mission it could definitely cause boredom in some people. Obviously that is HIGHLY dependent on your airframe/job/mission but it holds somewhat true.

  6. Drone pilots really don't get respect... We built drones to take the pilot out of the situation. Then send up an F-22 to protect it. I like it.

  8. Thanks. It will be interesting to see if this is the final word on how he got the weopans, and if it is, how dumb it will make the anti-gun crowd look...again. On a related note, it never ceases to amaze me that the military 'trusts' our officers and NCO's so much...just not enough to allow us to be armed while on base at home. I'm sure another Active Shooter CBT will solve everything.

  11. Reposted from the WTF thread...more appropriate here: I agree that his sexual orientation or the sexual orientation of anyone serving is irrelevant. The problem I have is how we not only identify, but glorify a group of people based on any "sexual" orientation, yet we seem to have a problem with "sexuality" of the heterosexual kind in the workplace in DoD. So, homosexuals come to work identifying themselves as "homosexual," we call it diversity and tolerance. If I, a flaming male lesbian, were to come to work bragging about how much I love women, they call it sexual harassment or inappropriate talk in the workplace. With all the news in the media today about sexual abuse, sexual harassment, sexual assault, why is anyone's "sexuality" being celebrated as if it is ok to say "I love cock" in the workplace. Gay people are (mostly) only identifiable because they tell you they are gay. Why is that ok, but it is not ok for me to celebrate my love of boobies by telling people at work?? THAT double standard is what I have a problem with....
