  1. Different strokes for different folks bro. I've been a civilian for 8 months and I'm much happier. I make a lot less money, but that'll change.

  2. Stop the madness!!!!! Stop doing work at home....chase some tail....chase your wife....take your kids to the park!!! If your base requires some local ISP to do your work and its not working...I guess you get to go home early that day. Cap-10

  3. Just so we are clear - are we collectively saying a massive shift from inbred toxicity is expected to occur rapidly because of all the bad press lately? And yet, the same clownshoes commanders who WERE IN CHARGE previously are still in charge...? No one was fired? I won't hold my breath. When you have to be told by someone who's been SECAF for five seconds that your shits in the street for you to realize it, you have insurmountable SA problems and nothing short of wholesale leadership cleansing followed by crew force reeducation and will fix them. 4. At least he's trying to get a solid answer from what is, unfortunately, probably the best place to find one. I don't know his situation but, I imagine "reading the fine print" gets more difficult when you've got a squadron full of E's & O's, with different jobs and different small print.

  5. My uniform was gleaming with pride yesterday when I got to wear a red undershirt, call sign name tag, pencil patch and Friday patch. I felt like I was walking around at a strip club for the first time.

  6. I thought the point of this is that they don't want to replace us-at least not at a one for one rate. And for this "return on investment"....as has been pointed out before, if I got to keep flying Id be much happier with staying in. I don't want to go to staff, I don't want to be an exec, I don't want to go to school. And I don't want to go on a 365. Now, before y'all think this is just a bunch of whining-I'm not saying I won't do whatever the AF tells me to, I'm just pointing out the idiocy of claiming "return on investment" when that means rated dudes get forced into non-flying assignments.

  9. If contractors are so great, cheap, and easy to fire, maybe we should replace Colonels and Generals with contractors.

  11. Yes, you are missing something. The fact that this happened before and it was not crippling. They just refilled the pool with non-vols.... problem solved.

  14. https://cdn.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastore/opinions/2014/02/12/1056971.pdf For the TL:DR crowd the US Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit reversed/remanded San Diego County's "good cause" requirement for issuing concealed carry permits. It's a pretty huge blow to anti-gun legislation in California as a whole. It will probably take a long time for this to trickle down, but the precedence has been set now. Good luck to California.

  18. Sadly, I am with you. I so badly wanted to serve and make a difference, but I find myself on the road for the 15th time with no regard for my future or that of my family. From leadership, to opstempo, to equipment, we are losing on all fronts. We were once the greatest Air Force on earth, but sadly at the rate we are currently going we will be nothing more than a sad footnote of failure.
