  1. I just didn't use email. As a part-timer, every time I showed up, I required a new password or they needed to re-map printers or something and it became a royal pain and waste of my time...so I quit checking and happily flew my ass off.. After about a year and half, some guy shows up at my door asking if I could please delete some stuff because it is clogging up their server. I had something in the neighborhood of 1500 emails.

  2. Protocol Fail and CMSAF Fail. He's an E-9 senior enlisted advisor, not an O-8 general officer. Big difference, both in responsibilities and backgrounds. I've seen too many E-9 Command Chiefs get too cool for school and elevate themselves out of sight of the enlisted airmen they're supposed to watch out for.

  4. Oh great...more OPR "code words" and people trying interpret the meaning. That is precisely what is wrong with the AF today. We get a bunch of O-6s on a board trying to decide what someone really meant by the phraseology they put in an OPR because apparently we don't put what we really mean in an OPR. If the guy is a dirtbag and his career should be ended, then just say so. What ends this guy's career won't be anything to do with what he did by talking to the media, but how poorly worded (intended or not) his OPR was written. I think with all the buffoonery going on with the AF today, the media issue won't hurt the guy...if anything, it will help him.

  7. You can bang out an ATP in a weekend. If you think you want to fly after you get out, shell out the cash and get it done now. Do not waste your money on a 737 type.

  10. I might be able to understand parking spots at a busy work place....but spots at the commissary or BX where the person MIGHT go once a week is beyond ridiculous. Is anyone really that fucking lazy to walk the extra 50m from a parking spot in the back? I mean, didn't those guys make their rank based off their excellent PT scores anyway? It is about as funny as those front row parking spots at the gym people will sit and wait for instead of just walking the extra distance. YOU'RE GOING TO THE FUCKING GYM!!

  11. Color me surprised! What status was this guy? TR/AGR/Tech? He was a guard guy, right? Who even looks at their OPRs? I guess some squadrons are more political than others... Rather than wait, some have just decided to leave the community after their own experiences. As FUZZ said, I think this was a result of going to congress. What do you think commanders and IG were going to do? We're talking about an AF that would rather piss on a pilots grave than say there is something wrong with their baby... Of course not...the AF prefers those who just tow the company line.

  17. Yeah seriously. You're speaking out of your lane. The only basis that you have over a "protocol fail" is the fact Chief Cody, who is a good Chief and not an E-9, is the fact he's Enlisted. You're leaving out that he's the top Enlisted Airman in the USAF, he's not some MX Chief, not the some base's Command Chief, he's the highest ranking Chief in the USAF. Does he get certain privileges that go along with his office? Yeah, he and the VCSAF speak for the Chief. He speaks for the 326,259 Enlisted Airman in the USAF to the Chief, Congress, etc. The Enlisted bashing that goes on this forum sometimes is old hat.

  18. I totally believe he's subject to retributional career discrimination, and I hope he weighed the pros/cons of talking to the media before proceeding the way he did. If he thought the DoD would pat him on the back and buy him a beer for airing dirty laundry on the news, he's the most naive man in the world. In all fairness, comments like "one of my top wingmen" are not exactly sterling remarks on an OPR. Putting "premier tactician" on an OPR is just another way to fill white space. Let this be a cautionary tale to the rest of us. Sometimes talking to the media will seem like your only option, but don't forget that it comes at a severe opportunity cost. Fence in before you make that decision, and be ready for what happens next.
