  1. Great idea! We can start with the FAIP that came to U-2s for 3 years... then to F-16s, where he was a DG at FTU... then onto Shaw where he was a below the zone promotion... to Australia where he flies Hornets now.

  3. When in the hell are we going to actually protect our own country? N4T Investigators: Rogue Mexican Army troops crossing the line There are about 28,500 US military personnel in South Korea right now assisting in deterrance and defense of the 15th largest economy in the world that also has the 6th largest military (by AD personnel) with a 2.9 million reserve force and we have almost no US military actually stationed on and tasked to defend the southern border. Can we get at least half of that on our border? One can dream though...

  5. Bring your L10 as well to answer logbook questions that would be a PITA to manually figure. (How many night, solo, XC, SIC hours south of the equator?)

  6. If you think that all that's going on down on the border states is "playing catch and release with Mexican immigrants", then you need to come down here actually see what's going on that isn't getting reported in your daily news. There are some persons and threats coming through that are caught, and many that aren't, that would make your head spin. There are situations, engagements, and other scenarios both with military and military-style forces, as well as cartels and other organized factions, where our outmanned and outgunned CBP can't (and in some cases, aren't allowed to) stop them. Come down and see sometime, it would open your eyes a bit. So yes, playing masters of the universe around the world with every problem and situation large and small, shouldn't cause there to be a complete ignoring of the realities of what it slipping through central America and across our own "secured" borders. Without going into SIPR, it's a heck of alot more than just a couple of Mexican immigrants looking for work, that you and many others are under the incorrect and assuming impression of. While I agree with you on not blurring the lines between military and law enforcement to the max extent possible, the military isn't being used for domestic law enforcement; and acting against or being used to counter external threats to this country, shouldn't blur those lines either. Take care of things overseas as-needed. Don't leave the gate to the yard open while doing it.

  7. That's because Navs (by any name) aren't real people. Everyone knows this.

  8. During our last wing change of command, our protocol officer was actually pretty useless and knew almost none of these things. Cut them some slack, they deactivated 9 bands last year:

  10. It's been covered before, but there is a big difference between TIB and the Air Force band. The Air Force band exists because military bands have existed for thousands of years and are necessary for ceremonial purposes and formal functions. They are all excellent musicians and do a great job IMHO. TIB on the other hand is a cluster of counter-productive jazz-handing sissies that contribute nothing to our service. 12. My comment was meant to be sarcastic. I'm actually in total agreement with you. It's criminal to spend so much time and money (and blood) defending so many other countries with our military while leaving our own so open and vulnerable in the name of political correctness. On top of that, Washington has the balls to cut military funding and tell us to do "more with less" while fully funding entitlement programs and keeping the borders wide open. Has any other country in the history of mankind ever purposefully engaged in such self-destructive behavior? Serious question

  13. YBGFSM...seriously? Please for the love of God explain why anyone, but to your point a military officer, would think that protecting another country is more important than protecting our own Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. The border is more out of control than the public knows (civilian or military). CBP estimates they only catch maybe a 1/3 of the illegals crossing into the US (anecodotal from a 7 year CBP agent in the busiest sector on the border). We are constantly told the lie that they are just people looking to do "work Americans can or won't do". That's bullshit and only a lie told by corporations and their political pawns who want a weak labor market and short sighted politicians who dream of getting 10+ million new voters. No other country allows itself, that is the key phrase, allows its borders to be so weak when it has the resources it to secure it. It is criminal. Here's an example of one of the fine individuals just "looking for a better life" that violate our laws and are not supposed to be here. Controversial Muslim cleric caught sneaking into U.S. Does anyone really believe that any of our OCONUS missions really take precedence over securing our actual border? Tell me you don't think this guy sneaking in is just the tip of the iceberg...

  15. Initial solo in the T-41 at "Casa Grande International" (yeah, way back then...Jan, 1968; Willie's T-41 aux field). Took off, made 9 solo T&G patterns...things of beauty. Turning base for the full stop reached for the flap handle and suddenly recalled I hadn't done that on any of my other patterns. I flew 9 no-flap patterns without noticing and without getting a call from the RSU. IP patted me on the back and said "good job". Nobody had a clue. Needless to say, I sorta forgot to mention it while debriefing.

  17. Clark Griswold.... Oh boy, how to put this. Your posts remind me of the crazy emails my relatives spam my inbox with about how Hillary Clinton is overturning the 2nd Amendment and how Obama is a Muslim Kenyan etc.
