  1. You're assuming the only option was to go in the way we did, with 100,000 troops. We should have left Big Army at home, and let the bearded commandos and air strikes do their thing. Afghanistan would be the same festering shithole it is today, we'd still have killed plenty of terrorists, 2000+ servicemembers would still be alive, and we'd have an extra half-trillion dollars lying around.

  2. You could beam an IR pointer at that ball. Turn the freaky donkey party into a rave and they wouldn't even know it.

  4. Wow sounds like said individual probably had a 24oz supersize me beer along with dinner and got more than he bargained for. This is why I have one drink outside my house... Even if I get absolutely wasted at a bar and I call a cab to drive me home and said cab driver hits a pedestrian or another vehicle along the way it will still be my fault... If I were responsible enough to call a cab and so irresponsible to have more than the legal amount it would still be an ARI. I'm still waiting to hear this exact scenario play out. Mark my words if it hasn't happened it will. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. I have a feeling that the VP only meant it will be one of the Administration's 'greatest achievements' if it doesn't get all fvcked up before the end of their time in office.

  7. You can watch the Vice clip about sex w/donkeys. Or, you can find out more than you'd ever want to know while flying over Afghanistan with a targeting pod.

  8. Cops are good at "hamming" it up when it comes to police reports. Also, due to Oklahoma's implied consent law, you must test, or you are ff'd on the spot.

  9. SECDEF Statement on the transfer of GITMO detainees for SSgt Bergdahls' release https://docs.house.gov/Committee/Calendar/ByEvent.aspx?EventID=102314 He's more apologetic and conciliatory in the rest of his statement. These were just the highlights.

  10. Headline: old fart who mysteriously made LTC while a reservist fully behind cutting benefits for the younger generation coming home from Afghanistan. Feelings of guilt for his sham of a career he deflects onto other people.

  12. HD, I firmly believe making an example of a few offenders goes a long way in correcting any "culture" problems that may exist in an organization. And if that method doesn't work, there are plenty of more productive ways to "adjust attitudes" than such silly antics. I simply don't see the benefit of such "mass punishment," especially when there is nothing gained from it other than a bunch of pissed off troops. Increased training and/or awareness I can understand; but dress-up day just doesn't directly address the problem or provide any type of solution. Where do commanders get such ideas that it would?!? If you want them to act like adults, then treat them like adults. And when they screw up, hold them accountable. Such games are just bullshit attempts to appear to be doing something.

  13. Agreed, public executions have always been a great deterrent. Punishing those not involved does nothing but lower morale. Why anyone in a position of leadership would believe that to be a "solution" is beyond me, and undermines the concept of personal accountability which is what should they should striving for...

  14. Fuck your logic. Our civilian counterparts don't have to take their socks off to count the friends they know who aren't walking the earth any longer.

  15. If they behead civilians, at least we can release them in exchange for a deserter.

  16. Speak for yourself. While I've also been frustrated with the execution of the wars, I still view killing jihadis before they behead civilians as a valid use of my time and worthy of my best effort.
