I stopped paying attention to Liquid's quitter-hate a while ago. I can only imagine the conniption he'd have regarding an expanding Air Force Reserve structure (per the congressional report 6 months ago) in the present active duty drawdown. You know, that organization of selfish quitters who vote with their feet every day with disgusting values such as homesteading, rejection of qweep, unapologetic preference of flying over any other duty as a prerequisite for deciding to show up at all, getting a second paycheck which is less important than their civilian one, and lastly, a community of politically incorrect brotherhood built upon relative lack of turnover, which makes active duty look like a bunch of fucking 3-level equivalent JCPenney cashiers on their second week on the job. Yeah buddy, guys like him probably couldn't tell a Reservist from the Taliban judging by the traits he values. The people he decries as the problem are literally the preponderance of my recruits. And here's the sweet irony: Active Duty turns around and puts us in positions of flying support under the premise of higher aggregate experience retention we bring to the table.3 points

Got it - thanks. I think the world might implode, though. At least 2 of us are grateful to be enrolled in an AF CBT.1 point

I would advocate for a pivot towards America, the United States of... What's really funny to me is the towns in California that are staging protests over illegals showing up. My guess is they still haven't connected the dots between their vote and their new illegal neighbors. How's that damn change working out for you now that Jose took your job and his 13 kids gave your 1 TB? I should probably stop there... Laws?! Oh those laws?! Yea, those don't apply. Look, I signed a piece of paper.1 point

If they had done the immigration process as laid out by USCIS, they would have been screened for TB and prevented from coming in to the country. But this is what happens when the laws of the land are disregarded. Edited for nonsense1 point

Enough said.....been off the site for a long time due to exactly this.... Know Hawk and LA both and she's a great choice to replace him....you guys have lost perspective. One last comment.... She was highly respected by all the IPs in the barnyard and has only gained more respect as she gained stars...it's about time baseops started having some FWIC (WIC was after my time) debriefs.....1 point

One might state the obvious with a "you first." But one is retired and thus a "quitter" because the giveash1t meter pegged simultaneously with the OLC to the tilting at windmills award.1 point

I wouldn't necessarily equate rational criticism of problems and stupidity to automatically equal one being a "bitter, selfish, disillusioned crybaby", anymore than I'd label your or other ways of thinking to be kool aid drinking rah-rah lemming-speak. Sure, there are the actual crybabies, and sure there are the kool-aid brainless types; but I think overall both of the more moderate types of people on each side actually solve issues and come up with solutions for what is an AF that definitely isn't without problems (a good number of, in fact), even with the good things it has and offers.1 point

Flight Safety: Ground safety, it's all yours. Ground Safety: they were on their way to get wings attached and then fly to the company, intent for flight was obvious, it's all yours sir.1 point

If the Air Force was serious about education then it would send officers to obtain real master's degrees. There are already programs like this for medical officers, force support, CE, etc. You are not required to pay tuition during SOS but the Air Force pays to maintain the facilities and staff. I agree. However, based on the quality of education you get from an online school, I could just buy the books and work hard to learn the material. I disagree. I have seen sub-par performers make Colonel based on nothing more than looking good on paper and timing. I have also seen extraordinary pilots and leaders being passed over because they had not finished their AAD and wouldn't be "competitive." There are only so many hours in the day. You can either spend them writing OPRs, learning more about flying, spending time with the family, sleeping, etc. Choose which one you want to suffer while you work on an online AAD. If you have enough money saved / invested then no it wouldn't be taxing on the family. I never said I was separating - it's my backup plan for being RIF'ed due to lack of master's degree. I am not arguing that people should not try to further themselves as officers and leaders. I am arguing that a degree in "Space Law" won't help you lead a wing. I am arguing that reading books on previous wars and learning your job is more important than paying a diploma mill for a degree. Perhaps if we rid ourselves of these little check boxes then maybe we will have to look a little bit harder at career performance. The master's degree requirement has already held back enough hard chargers and pushed too many weak performers to the top. It's an irrelevant metric and should be completely eliminated from the miltiary. I'm deployed and busy. I still check the forum to see what's new. I'm tired of reading posts from whiners who continue to bitch and moan about not being required to get an AAD until Col. Drama queens. I can't stand being around people who complain about stupid things and this forum is full of them. Hard to read sometimes, but there are enough witty insights to make it worth it. This Korea alcohol thing is over the top. I think it is an unlawful order. Good order and discipline my ass. Some commanders have lost their minds with this "treat people like children" mentality of leadership. JQP's Camp Air Force article is spot on. I recommend you read it and apply it to your leadership style. To those in this forum that aren't bitter, selfish, disillusioned crybabies, thank you for serving in the greatest AF this world has ever seen. It is a bloated bureaucracy (DMV with guns), with more chickenshit senior leaders and commanders and more stupid rules than it should have. But our Air Force kicks ass all over the world, enabling our nation to do the things it should be doing, killing those who need to be killed, and protecting those who need to be protected. We need competent, courageous and creative leaders at all levels, including every one of our officers. Quit your complaining and start leading. Or just quietly separate and go get that dream job where there are no stupid rules and bad leaders, so the rest of us can get to it. edited to remove some profanity caused by my bad mood1 point

It makes the most sense for the C-130Js to go to LRF, simply because the AFRC unit there has no mx backshop facilities of their own, and the AD facilities they would have to use are J-specific. They don't have that infrastructure set up yet in NC, and the H-models there are already well-established. The primary reason why AFRC wants to move the Js out of Keesler have more to do with the fact that they've never really been able to get mx fully manned down at BIX, and during storm season, the slick Js suffer in order to keep the weather birds ready to go. Moving them to LRF will give the AD access to a few more tails and result in an overall better utilization of the aircraft. As for Pope, I think they will stay open, but I doubt they'll get the Js. They will likely become a normal AFRC wing. It's interesting that MS is fighting so hard...for one, they are the only multi-squadron MAF wing in AFRC anymore. They are also one of the best funded due to the weather mission, so the BIX unit isn't really in any jeopardy of closing any time soon. The MS delegation just wants to have their cake and eat it too. In reality, since having the 403rd go to a one-squadron (and well-funded) wing, the 913th having Js and associating with the AD, and Pope keeping their H's to keep the Army and NC politicians happy, that cannot be the possible outcome, because it makes too much sense. Instead, we'll keep the Js in MS, where they won't have any utilization with the RegAF and slick mx suffers every hurricane season, and we'll close LRF right after we hired 600+ people and unfurled the flag. That's more along the lines of how our government and DoD operate.-1 points

MD, good point. No automatic characterization intended. I agree that solving problems should be our focus. 2020, I can't tell a Reservist from the Taliban? F*ck off.-1 points
