  1. Don't kid yourself. Sony will release this in 6 months to triple the profits it would have made otherwise. This is the best engineered hype Hollywood could have asked for.

  4. No, IRS has cut manning and says they will delay processing refunds. If that is the case you have a good chance of them not noticing taxes were not taken out and you should be good to go. Just don't say anything about it on the Internet or they may figure of out later.

  5. Thanks, guys. I ended up calling Outdoor Rec and paying $10 to park it in the RV/Trailer lot. However, I started by asking Razorback Inn, which I was told my car will be towed. I asked how she would know, she said, "They just would." It wasn't worth arguing. Who the hell is "they?" I was told to contact Security Forces (You can see where this is going). The Officer at Security Forces said my car would get towed and I need to call the First Shirts at the 714th to coordinate something. Then, the Officer told me he needed to go because I was clogging his emergency line. So, he hung up. He gave me two numbers for two different First Shirts, which no one answered. So, I just called Outdoor Rec. The gentleman was very helpful. It all worked out. I would have just left it in a parking but the base is unfamiliar to me and didn't want to start my short period there with getting a car out of the impound lot or settling a ticket. Lesson learned. Thanks again for all the help.

  7. I can't believe you just said that. After reducing the size of the force by over 16,000 through voluntary and some tough involuntary measures, it was still worth it to further eliminate about THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY officers?! (IE, a drop in the bucket) Most of whom, from personal evidence, seem to be in the 12 year range? A large percentage of which are acquisitions experts, in the phase of their career where they are the ones with some of the greatest influence on the large acquisitions programs for which we are saving money for, except now there's no one to run them. And it was fiscally responsible to eliminate two TPS graduates (disclaimer: yes I am one, so somewhat biased in my viewpoint) who you just spent over ONE MILLION DOLLARS on just 4 years ago? (With no negative indicators mind you) If this is what they set out to do, well done. I would love to hear if the SECAF is even aware of the types of folks she has lost.

  8. And this is yet another reason not to friend anyone higher than you in the chain of command on social media.

  9. 111 years ago today. Also, 16 Dec marked 70 years from the start of the Battle of the Bulge.

  10. Alright, I'm going to revive this thread with some good and informative news: At the time of this writing I have made the following progress: -I was granted a Conditional Release (DD 368). This had to be signed by the Aviation Branch Chief, a LTC position at HRC (I'm AD). To my understanding, for guard/reserve, it only has to be the first LTC in your CoC (don't quote me on that, it's just what I've heard). -I was selected by the 187th FW, Alabama ANG!!!!! This was after I had a signed Conditional Release. It was most likely necessary to have this DD 368 pre-approved, for a unit to even select me. Also, to restate: there is no more Air Force Fixed Wing Qualification Course. UPT is the only way to get in, and you must be in UPT before your 30th Birthday. -I have submitted my resignation to the Army This is in the form of an Unqualified Resignation. Again, having the DD368 already signed is a huge deal. This will be my last post for a while. Please send me specific questions through the PM feature. The last thing the Army Aviation Branch chief wants is a bunch of Army Aviators asking for a DD 368. Keep in mind that I had already spoken about my intentions to my entire Battalion chain of command and my air-frame branch chief before I email the Aviation Branch Chief. I firmly believe that this was instrumental in my success in getting a DD 368, as was the fact that the Army is currently downsizing. Just emailing the Branch Chief alone will most likely result in failure, as well as the burning of any bridges you previously had, in addition to destroying any chances you might have had at transferring to the Air Force. Be respectful, you can't guarantee that you'll be transferred. I will update this thread about my progress one I'm officially out of the Army and into the Air Force. Until then, thank you to everyone who helped me get this far - to pursue my dreams and expand on my military aviation career. I am in debt to many!
