  1. the penalty of washing out was good enough for me. as a taxpayer, i'm disappointed that a UPT syllabus is spent only to have someone fly a drone. as a human, I empathize with a guy or gal that signed up for ten years of service largely to fly airplanes. I'm old and crusty now, and am generally the first guy to turn the music down and yell "get off my lawn", but i don't think the perpetrators of the "entitled generation" are the ones volunteering for the military when nationalism is low and the private sector is hiring.

  3. I'm a controller at a fighter base and I fly recreationally. I wish every GA pilot could spend a day watching the scopes. It would be a really eye-opening experience and further justification to study your frequented airspace beyond just a glance at a sectional. x2 on the not needin further regulation, but perhaps a shift in culture. We have light a/c skirt the edges of our Delta through the FAF at g/s intercept altitude multiple times daily without flight following.

  4. In honor of Rowdy Roddy's death, go watch "They Live," bubble gum optional. https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/the-turnstile/wrestling-superstar-roddy-piper-dead-at-61-224152886.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDKdHuyQpHY Edit, video is better than the picture. RIP Mr Piper, watching your antics on Saturdays was a blast.

  5. Then they should be crushed accordingly. It's a failure of the system if those types graduate with that attitude. And the instructors should be held accountable.

  8. I give 5/5 sh-ts as a deployed guy flying in the stack with UAVs, I hope they are on station when I show up. most uav drivers will agree (me included) that they bring plenty to the fight. this being my first time deployed, i now realize how much I underestimated how much droids contribute. It was never the mission (unsustainable schedule excluded) that made life miserable.
