  1. I've had the misfortune of flying RPAs for the last few years. I wouldn't describe what we do as "relevant", unless you think there is a strategic value to playing whack-a-mole. I would gladly take any non-rpa assignment pulled out of a hat over continuing to fly MQ-9s.

  2. For those that care I went with the S&W M&P Shield 9, a great fit for me. A bit shocked at how easy it shoots, right out of the box I put the first eight rounds in the center ring. A lot of luck on my part, but my office has a weekly shooting competition (one shot for the pot), I put four mags through the gun then onw shot to win the pot. Also, for those looking for a different kind of carry holster, I give the Sticky Holster very high marks.

  3. Obviously there's no universal Active Duty experience or AD service member. Some people will love it. Some will hate it. Got it. My heartburn with an ADSC longer than the current one is that you're asking a 22-year old to go all-in on the bulk of their professional life without any reasonable understanding of what that entails or what the opportunity costs really are. Some will get lucky and love it. Good for them. But the others will be trapped for no reason other than its hard to predict who you'll be or what your life circumstances will be a decade down the road. How is the Air Force supposed to build a leader/follower relationship built on trust when the AF's first move is to take adavantage of youthful naïveté and dream chasing for its own cynical ends? I understand the investment it takes to build a pilot, and that you need a guaranteed return if you're going to put in that effort and resources, but there's an upper limit to what it's morally reasonable to ask someone to agree to with no way out and no recourse. At some point it becomes predatory. I really consider the 10-year ADSC as at the upper limit. Hopefully it's just talk and we can get back to figuring out how to encourage quality people to stay rather than trapping them when they just don't know any better.

  5. they've already downloaded the 3-1 anyway... Maybe we should go back to the days where every flight lead briefed their own customized a2a game plan :)

  7. I sure would love to have the Chinese watch how I work my 4-ship A/A tactics and SERE gameplan over the civilian feed in a MOA, too.

  8. You guys are right.... That type in a four engine Boeing heavy is terrible. Oak City is a terrible shithole to live on, and I would hate for my three MDS PCS options to be Alaska, Japan, and Germany. You got me.

  9. It can...so can the Air Force. The real world also doesn't check your cell phones, or send you across the globe to make ppt slides, or wonder where you're going over the weekend.

  11. I'm sure we can get that developed... After we integrate it. We gotta install it first and pay for it to find out how it works you know.

  12. I'd assume you'd simply turn it off just like mode 3/C when you fence-in... I'd think cost would be the real limfac
