  2. You seriously think that their "tactic" is to fraudulently classify accidents to make other companies comparative rates rise? Are you one of those people that think 9/11 was an inside job?

  3. "lauded" is truly one of my favorites. *important person walks through squadron on a tour looking at stuff. *notice they're not saying much... *uh oh. My OPR bullet is fading quick!! Say something!!!! *Joking* "So our squadron is the best you've seen isn't it?" *important person* "Haha! For sure. You guys are doing great. Keep up the great work!" -Outstanding ldrshp--4-star lauded "best squadron in AF"

  4. So, update: Thanks for all your help and suggestions. My SQ/CC, OG/CC and Wing/CC all lobbied the porch to keep me in the Viper (and keep the WIC door open), but it isn't looking good: short of a miracle, I am still headed to IFF this fall. On the up side, my RNLTD isn't until mid-October, and my losing SQ says they will try put me through the IPUG before I PCS out of here. So that is a pretty nice consolation prize, and I am very grateful for everything they have done to help. Question now is: when am I eligible to get back in the jet, and does the clock start before or after I finish IFF training? If I get to Sheppard in October 2016 and am in training until January 2017, when do I have enough TOS to start asking to get back to the Viper? Thanks, all. (Sorry, this is probably better suited for the Fighter Assignments thread, but I wanted to update those here who have counseled me so far.)

  5. Agreed with the above. Get your scores and tell her to suck it. Look at other flight school options, 60k is a lot of cash for something that may not even work out. As mentioned above, look into some guard/reserve units as well. It can't hurt to put a package together and apply while your trying to retake your TBAS or build flight hours. My biggest regret is not at least trying for the guard/reserve. Having flown manned and now RPAs, RPAs suck unless your into it. Avoid it like the plague. And understand, especially being active the odds are at some point you may find yourself in a droid, even as your first assignment after UPT.

  6. Absolutely. Do NOT let someone trying to hit their numbers guilt you into a life changing decision. If it's allowed to just apply for pilot, find a recruiter who will "allow" you to do that.

  7. You need to start rushing your preferred ANG unit asap and get into OTS (unless you have already finished that process?). You have to be selected for UPT by age 29 and both the guard and OTS process for rated selections can be quite lengthy. Your stats resemble mine and I got a UPT slot in 2015 for FY16; time is what you need to be focused on here.

  8. Rock bottom line: once your PRF is signed there is no reason to even think about the board because it is worry that won't help you in any way.

  9. Can we just enact SCODs for officers already? Can we just do this? One Closeout date for each YG period. These shifting timings make it impossible to do the right things by people at the sqd level Back to the drawing board to try and figure out how to get Flt/CC credit for '08 guys or to draw the line and tell the folks hey I made major without being a Flt/CC you might too.

  10. Not sure, I'm a part timer so I usually have to use the longest words I can find to fill all the white space. It's hard to glorify, "made my sorties, almost every month..."
