Your situation sounds similar to what happened to quite a few FAIPs in 2012. It was a dumb move to pass those guys over then; it's a dumb move to pass you guys over now. Use it to your advantage, get out as soon as you can, and get picked up by a guard or reserve unit if you want to keep flying for the military.

I have a 1 year old son... and plans are in the works to have another something in the coming years. If and when my son(s) or future daughter tells me he/she/they want(s) to join the Army and be like his dad.... I may hold them under water until they change their mind. Specifically if they intended to enlist in the Army so they can "earn their way" later on I would definitely water board my child until that mech/civil engineering degree looked like a better idea. Or I could just have the pull everything out of the garage and write down what was in it... then throw away the list and make them do it again. After a couple of incidents of that, they may understand exactly why not all the years of service their dad did is accurately represented in the plaques and pictures hanging in the "Me room." If you're set on helos look at the Guard/Reserves. I think there's ANG helos in California, Alaska, and New York..Reserve might have them down in Florida.

Don't know if the post is heading in the direction I want lol. But networking is never a bad thing in this career field. Thank you again for everyone chiming in on the post and giving there expert opinions lol. Had a good talk with my wing commander the other day, he is going to assist me to get a sponsor from a fighter unit and call around. In the mean time, I'll keep calling units and wait for my flight physical dates. Waiting is the most painful part! Austin
