Irrelevant. The President can issue a preemptive blanket pardon which bars future prosecution for crimes previously committed, alleged or otherwise. Like I said, precedence has already been set, ref Ford/Nixon. There were no charges pending and no prosecution underway when Ford signed off on Nixon's pardon.3 points

Good on you brother. Admitting it is the first step to recovery or so I hear. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums2 points

Also on the short list for AG is US Representative Trey Gowdy. Whoooo boy...those in the Clinton circles should be feeling a bit worried, methinks.2 points

I'll be a data point. I would have gladly served until 20 as a Captain with a 1:1 dwell if I was actually flying. Instead, someone at AFPC decided I should go to drones because I was on the wrong VML. Now, instead of the Air Force getting another 10 years on their investment, I'll be a contractor in 3 weeks. Losing the WH is just the tip of the iceberg for the Democratic Party. In 2009, Dems controlled the WH, the Senate, the House, 27 state legislatures, and 28 governorships. Since then, they have lost the WH, the Senate, the House, and now control only 12 state legislatures and 13 governorships. The Democratic message of the today doesn't resonate anywhere in America, outside of major cities and college campuses. They have been lost in their world. They have focused on things like transgender bathrooms, race-baiting, cop-hating, and fretting over ocean levels. Meanwhile, back in the real world, folks are trying to figure out how to get by with lower wages, higher food costs, skyrocketing healthcare costs, and a government that doesn't notice or care about them. The only time they hear from a Democratic politician, they are told they are racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted deplorables. Dems have only themselves to blame for their electoral decimation. Obama came into office with more political capital and goodwill than any POTUS in modern history. He and the Dems chose to spend it on an unpopular and failing healthcare plan, enflaming racial tensions and divide, and of course transgender bathrooms. The funny thing is they have no clue how out of touch they are.1 point

This is why the old ideology needs to change. The new retirement means people no longer care about getting to 20 as they can get some kind of retirement at the end of their commitment. So how many people would pop ninja smoke at the end of their commitment and move on? Probably enough that it will make a big impact to the force structure and leadership.1 point

Most of my senior leadership already has less flying experience than line dudes in the squadron. I struggled to maintain my bearing when the OG/CC was introduced as a guest speaker "with over 100 combat hours".1 point

1. Not really. The plan can't be worse than "Well, we have to do something...let's launch some airstrikes". And getting to watch our NATO allies bomb our Syrian allies instead of ISIS. 2. Not really. If we're going to be accused of going to war for oil at every turn, then let's take some fucking oil. Doesn't even have to be all of it...let's just make Iraq repay us for the reconstruction. 3. That bothers me a little. Mostly Saudi Arabia. But I think the threat is overblown. Much like concealed carrying a handgun, when a nation is packing a nuke, other nations deal with it in a different fashion than when they aren't. Look at how we dealt with Libya after they gave up their WMD program versus how we continue to deal with North Korea. 4. It's probably about time someone stands up to China in a real way. 5. I don't know about rude gestures, but one does wonder where we draw the line for acts of war. Apparently, taking sailors prisoner doesn't meet the threshold.1 point

When MSNBC announced Trump's win in Iowa, there was an audible grunt from Rachel Madow. By the sound of it, she apparently sat on her sack wrong. Happens to the best of us.1 point

While making no excuses for the train wreck that was TAMI-21, those that were affected, in general, followed two paths: -Some recatted. While there are varying accounts about whether they were sold a bill of goods, most did so with clear vision, and are thriving; WIC, school, staff, etc. I've met one or two, that suffered buyers remorse, but it wasn't wholesale. -Non-recatters thrived in place, and got jets starting in late '12 early '13 timeframe. -Same story with the original UPT-D's; first of which are often WIC grads, arriving at staff/school (recats) while the rest are in manned a/c. BL: I'm not arguing against the shitshow that was TAMI and UPT-D--those initiatives poisoned the well for a generation to come.1 point

all us mid level captains have seen the bullshit...we dropped when there was only one fighter per class, we had RPAs in our -38 drops, we were in the squadrons with the TAMI 21 guys and heard how they got screwed out of their fighters, we saw the masters swing back to required for major and how our friends had to claw to get it before their board, we saw it swing back to not being required, we had friday morale shirts taken away, we had pencil tab patches made illegal, we had black boots taken away for swade, we saw dumbass ABUs come into "style" along with 1980s parachute PT pants, we saw the air force e-9s embarrass our peers in the died chow hall for wrong sock color (and be rewarded for it by the O-6), we saw 21 year old A1Cs drinking at DJ but aircrew were forbidden from even one beer, we saw our flying hours get cut back, we saw congress not do their job to the detriment of our survival in combat with zero shits given, we saw congress debate to take away dual spouse BAH, we became our own finance officer, we became our own professional CBT clicker, we saw below average yes men pilots do the minimum flying-wise and excel at queep only to get rewarded with good deal assignments and promotions (CHANG), we saw absurd increases in ROE for political purposes with no eye on victory. We saw the airlines start to hire... we didn't see our families, we didn't see clear cut victory in the war, we didn't see respect for our skills as pilots, we don't see a end in sight in deployments or war. The air force has been f***ing us since 2008. How the f*** are they surprised we don't want to stick around for the next 8 years to get run into the dirt. Most of my peers are getting TFO in a few years and i have zero fu**s or sympathy for big blue. They earned this.1 point

True, but if you are not honest on your commissioning physical and something happens later, you will get no help and are in a world of hurt.-1 points
