Exactly. What a ridiculous report. Apparently according to the authors, because there won't be many of them, the costs, when compared to the total force, will be small, so therefore inconsequential. Except they don't really mention how it will impact the units where they're assigned but barely work due to all the shenanigans required to appease their confusion about reality. I also love the recommendation that the military should create transgender SMEs and "Gender Advisors" for commanders. Gender Advisors. Because apparently Gender is so complex and variable that we need specially trained advisors. GMAFB. What a joke and complete waste of time.

GS-11 first year, 2 years to 13/step 1? That's a massive pay cut for a mil pilot off AD, and not very desirable locations additionally. Even some young guys who aren't flight leads are GS-13 in the guard, and the rest are bare minimum 12s. CBP needs to greatly step up their hiring baseline pay to even remotely be competitive with a shit load of other aviation opportunity out there for guys leaving AD. I can't imagine any pilot would be interested unless they were dead set on living in Laredo.

Huge 2 on this. I would not be surprised to see people join up just to get the surgery and then leave Active Duty service after getting the elective surgery. The entitlement mentality is growing by leaps and bounds in this country, and I do not like it one bit.

OK guys I'm older than dirt, my time we would get article 15's if we got a severe sunburn and was unable to perform your duty. Now someone mutilates their genitals with elective surgery and puts themselves class C for 2 years, how is that possible.? How is this in the best interest of the military, I was always told the interests of the USAF come first before your personal feelings and wants. Gender dysphoria: the condition of feeling one's emotional and psychological identity as male or female to be opposite to one's biological sex. Now two words stand out in that, emotional and psychological , those are two words that disqualify anybody for service. So my question would be are these trans gendered troops on duty guilty of fraudulent enlistment ?

I knew before I even showed up to UPT that I was going to try to be an airline pilot. I didn't announce it to the world, but if asked, I didn't hide it. If they didn't like my answer, fuck'em, my long term goals were none of their business. WRT the best pilots...whatever. All I know is that, as an airline guy, I'm more appropriately compensated in $$$ and time off. The rest, no one cares about but you.

Shack. I'll admit I'm on the fence right now as I approach 15 TAFMS, but options are a good thing right? It's entertaining to watch some dudes argue so strongly one way or another when you know it's all just an attempt to pat themselves on the back for making the "right" decision.

Us airline guys will just have to settle for the "puppet" and "bus driver" pay/schedule versus the T-6 triple-turns your Flt/CC and IP's are doing in the July heat. We all make decisions and we have to be ready to face the consequences. Now, back to boat shopping...

And like Nunya said, it really doesn't matter. One of the duties I had in my civilian job involved trend analysis--just noticing a trend, that's all. Was curious to see if anyone else had experienced something similar or if I'm simply reading too much into it. I'd say it's safe to say that everyone in my class is here because the Air Force offers a very unique mission set and type of flying you can't do anywhere else. Thanks for the input!
