  1. Another good one from Enlisted Jesus is the removal of practice bleeding via Course 14/15 for our NCO/SCNOs. Don't know if you zipper-suited-sun-gods care that much, but over on the support side it's a big deal. I had good folks get screwed because of the stupidity this caused when implemented. CMSAF Wright has almost wiped out anything close to a legacy the idiot before him put in place. Hope it burns.

  2. I failed it at MEPS as well, couldn't get past line B either. My Reserve recruiter had me drive to the nearest base for an appointment with the med group, where I did basically every eye test you'll end up doing at the FC1. Was able to pass depth perception there due to having more time with it, less stress, and an examiner who gave me some tips (wiggling your head and trusting your gut got me a long way through it). After passing there, I was back on track to my FC1. Don't sweat it, I stressed too much about it but you'll get through eventually.

  3. While I did enjoy some of his earlier work and photos. Most of the stuff he post now isn’t great or shouldn’t be posted due to opsec stuff.

  5. 1. Ask for our money back. 2. Submit any agreement to the Senate for ratification. You know, Constitutionally. Turns out that "having a phone and pen" can be undone by the next guy (except for DACA, it seems). 2a. Spy on the Senate so we know what they are thinking https://www.cnn.com/2014/07/31/politics/cia-spying-senate-apologize/index.html (still cannot fathom the then-majority Democrats letting this one slide...imagine if it were today...) 3. State "It shall be the policy of the US Government that any attack upon Israel using any form of WMD is considered to be an attack upon the United States by the nation of Iran as well as the by the country that such an attack originates from and will be retaliated with all instruments of national and military power. With no restrictions on those instruments." 4. If a nation wants nukes, it will get them. Non-proliferation is a chimera if a nuke is wanted bad enough.

  6. We are negotiating peace with DPRK exactly because POTUS started by threatening war. He bucked conventional wisdom and it appears, however tenuously, to be working. On Iran... we're in a tough spot due to a cowardly unwillingness to confront the issue decisively by previous administrations (Bush and Obama). We don't have a good track record with preemptive strikes, but Iran appears well on its way to nuclear weapons and unwilling to stop. Can we agree that a nuclear armed Iran is unacceptable? I always like to start by finding some common ground. My totally unqualified opinion, since you asked, is we should encourage/enable the Saudis and Israelis to strike.

  7. I would assume so unless it’s old hard wood that was covered up by carpet. The VA inspector is looking to see if the house is livable and safe. Torn carpet could also be a safety factor for the inspector. I’ve seen guys just pull it all out and paint the slab but that might not work in your situation depending on the subfloor. Another option is get a quote for the new carpet you want, add in the carpet cost to the sale price and have it paid for by the seller now. They get the money back at closing and seller concessions like that are allowed. Then it get installed before the reinspection so you get the final cleared to close. You can have your underwriting approval before the carpet work starts so the seller knows that you will actually close and isn’t going to waste his/her money. Marty

  8. Of course we care, many of us zipper suited sun gods have enlisted aircrew and/or work in OSSs where we supervise enlisted folks. Anything that allows them more time focusing on their primary job or more time with the family instead of idiotic PME is a win for everyone!

  9. I had a crew chief run out last week to taxi us wearing one of those inflatable dinasour costumes, myself and the crew about lost it, it was hilarious, good for morale, I was deeply sadden about .69 seconds after I saw him and the second thought in my head was “my god, please don’t let anything bad happen happen on this flight and the tapes get pulled” with this puppet incident in the back of my head. The AF has done a fine job of making us to afraid to have fun.

  11. Should they really punish her? As a public affairs troop, she literally led her shop to produce the most widely shared and talked about social media engagement campaign in PA history.

  12. This sums up my point perfectly as only the fine scholars at Duffle Blog can. The whole article is f-ing savage! https://www.duffelblog.com/2018/04/colonel-gave-reenlistment-oath-dinosaur-puppet-forced-retire-rank-jeffrey-sinclair/ “In my estimation, allowing your subordinate to reenlist with a sock puppet is approximately half as bad as forcing your subordinate to perform oral sex and then threatening to kill her,” said Haston, as he attempted to wipe a mustard stain off of his uniform. “We aim to promote good leadership, which is exemplified by actions such as destroying morale within your organization by levying draconian punishments for minor infractions for the sake of political expediency, kowtowing to the whims of social media vigilantes suffering from Outraged Veteran Syndrome, and maintaining a body fat percentage under 45%.” Duffle Blog, while also hoping this will blow over soon so we can get back to quietly killing bad guys without making headline news...

  13. Agreed. Maybe when the most common O-6 story about the good old days isn't about how SF used to let them drive drunk after a night at the O Club, they can start kicking people out for stupid judgement lapses.

  14. FWIW the 118th OG is a flying unit all day every day and twice on Sundays Negative ghostrider. 16 years of service and a PA/customs & courtesies fuck-up means you should be shown the door? Crashing airplanes negligently, getting others injured/killed, losing your weapon, etc. will all get you stars on your shoulder from what I've seen (no shit), but something like this means you get the boot no questions asked? I agree with pawnman above - this is an ass-chewing punishment, not a lose-your-retirement punishment. I know the internet outrage machine is turned up to 11 and it's a nice neat narrative that, "Haha, look at those POGs in the ANG with their fucking sock puppets!" and I cringed and face-palmed too, especially because this was right down the street from where our guys are sitting and taking the fight to the enemy, but zoom out a little bit and realize we've all made mistakes that would probably severely embarrass the Air Force. Luckily for most of us there weren't any cameras around.
