USAF PT shirts should also sit in the back of one's closet 364 days out of the year...3 points

As an aviator he is legit, as a combat leader he was beyond legit. I know Boomer very well and had hoped he would be more effective at turning the ship. A year after he took over we were having a private conversation. We we talked about some of the changes, somethings that had yet to change and some recent buffoonery including silly shit like SECAF puking all over a Tbird. I think I said something to the effect of "how can you let some of these things happen?" He took a breath and replied "CH, you would be surprised how little power I actually have." I'm not trying to defend him, just saying we need to keep the context of the political climate and political beasts that actually run the show. Maybe if a few of these four stars spoke out and fell on their swords it might be different...but I've yet to see anyone with the selfless stones to do it.2 points

A lot of us here have been arguing for a return to paper ballots, here’s a good reason why. There was another video floating around of a woman demonstrating hacking an actual machine and it took less than 2 minutes to gain admin access. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/nation-now/2018/08/13/11-year-old-hacks-replica-florida-election-site-changes-results/975121002/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

IMO the only worthwhile change is the IKE jacket, otherwise no one cares1 point

Quint, Hooper, and Chief Brody used their giant red, white, and blue balls to save Amity Island with nary a Commie in sight. Farewell and adieu to Quint though...1 point

70% of millennials between the ages of 17-24 are ineligible to join the military. Not sure why anyone in Big Blue cares about the service dress uniform right now. Uniforms shouldn't be the priority, it should be the people and why they keep running for the door. There is nobody to backfill the personnel who are leaving. I'm the last person who will be serving in the military from my family. Apparently, generations of families serving has been something the military could count on. Generations of families serving is slowly fading away too. The generals can have fun wearing these awesome new uniforms because everyone else will be gone. An AF of one coming soon...1 point

Check out this dudes Instagram if you're into that sort of thing, @rainwaters27. He has some pretty awesome footage.1 point

Who actually has to wear service dress so frequently that they bitch about it? So many better things to rightfully complain about as your service dress sits in the back of your closet 364 days out of the year.1 point

Voter-verified paper ballots is something no reasonable person should disagree with. In my prior life before the Air Force (and before I became a Democrat) I was an Early/Absentee ballot judge and Republican precinct chair in a medium population county in TX (~250,000 county residents). I went to meetings with county officials each election cycle along with representatives from the Democrats... And this was one thing everyone agreed upon. I can't even think of a reason for manufacturers of electronic voting machines to disagree since it gives them an opportunity to charge more for a Print feature! Blows my mind it isn't standard. (I vote by paper absentee ballot every two years anyway, so G2G.)1 point

He may very well be a good guy. I fell for that w the previous CCAF. I give zero fucks anymore about the “good guy” card. Maybe we need a real asshole to call a spade and tell the emperor he has no fucking clothes.1 point

I’d say a 40,000lb airliner with a suicidal pilot who has already committed several felonies is closer to 9/11 than a 1,600lb Cessna wandering around NORDO. Apologies if I don’t follow your logic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Yeah, but were they really pilots? I sat in the back of the plane one day while McDew subjected the earth to his soul crushing landings. I closed my eyes, braced for impact, and let out a Jesus! as I expected the gear to collapse each time. Tr'ble, just tr'ble. PS: No idea on the others, so flame elsewhere. On topic tho, who better to implement the programs on pilot assignments and retention than those most hurting, a fighter pilot. Question is, is he still a fighter pilot? I think it would be a more interesting experiment to take an 18yr Lt Col pilot, one about to get out, and make him/her the chief of AFPC. Out1 point

Welsh, McDew, Rand, Norty were all pilots too and in key GO positions... Our fellow pilots created this mess.1 point

I appreciate them for what they are: clowns destroying their bodies for my entertainment. Nothing more. Don’t take your social/political/societal cues from professional gladiators nor allow their opinions the same weight as real people ....1 point

This... failed one as a young Captain because the FAC civilian discounted 10 push-ups and I had a bad run time. At the time the wife just birthed a set of twins and I was on 4 hours of sleep a night and yup I hadn’t hit the gym in a solid three months because she was on bed rest the two months prior to the blessed day. Nobody gave a shat about that but here’s the rub. When I was fortunate enough to command MX ops at Cannon and had an Airman butting up against a PT due date with some life events that had kept them from being prepared I happily filled out the ole commanders exemption and told them to keep in touch if they felt they couldn’t pass after the exemption expired. Dialogue with me, but if life is keeping you from PTing there is probably some other causal factor outside of fitness to blame. To this day every time I have to take a PT test it takes me several attempts before I nut up and go take it. And no it’s not because I struggle. I’ve scored 83-85 consistently along with a couple of 90s. I have no similar problem with I/Q or MSN check rides. My point in this long rambling post is that commanders have been empowered ever since they have had the call to sign a ccs exemption. If captain x has gained 20 pounds and can’t pass the test there might be reasons other than physical that are causing these issues. Maybe some other reason... like an impending divorce, alcohol abuse, anxiety disorder or some other traumatic event. Sign the damn exemption, give your airmen the time to deal with life and if after an appropriate amount of time they can’t perform the person is lazy or unfit... you are on g series orders for a reason.1 point
