  1. Fcukin' incompetent Administration: - GDP only 4.2% growth last quarter - Canada agreed to sign on the renegotiated US/Mexico/Canada trade deal that is replacing NAFTA Simply UFB.

  2. This. Just finished a book about the 6-day war, Israel armed up their Fouga Magister training jets and had retirees and airline pilots in flying 'em blowing up arab tanks. Talk about being war fighters, we should* in a perfect world be able to arm up everything, not just as a "Hey you Canada, don't even think about it" but also I think it could aid in retention/morale. Sucks as an 11F that you're at UPT/IFF and not in the CAF, but once or twice a month we'll arm you up and send you to the range with your bros, screw NDBS and FEDS, drop some bombs, shoot some rockets, fire a gun pod, maybe have a stud sandbag, fire them up too. Refocus UPT on the job of killing people and breaking their shit. And also if the mounties press south, we have more armed stuff to kill their moose IEDs or whatever. Pipe dream over.

  3. I booked them myself (with SA on govt max reimbursement). They will only get paid for day of travel (we didn't stop anywhere enroute). So they should receive one day's worth of per diem (at 75% of your rate) regardless if they fly straight to or stay for a week somewhere else enroute.

  4. The ANG is a great option. If you want to go that route you'll need good grades, some leadership background and to get hired asap after college (while you're young). There are advantages to both ANG and AD (I've done both). Keep reading the forums and you'll catch on to most of the pro/cons. Good on you for setting a goal at a young age. Just remember you don't really know anything yet - and won't for a while - about the military and flying in the military in particular. A lot of young people say they want to be a fighter pilot but they don't know why, don't know what the life of a fighter pilot is like and don't understand the things that go along with being a fighter pilot. You might find out that you are much more suited for airlift, rescue, tankers, etc. We need good people in every airframe and there are folks that love what they do in any aviation walk of life. Setting a goal is good, I recommend not getting so focused on one specific goal (that you don't know much about yet) that you don't keep your eyes open for other opportunities that might make you happy. Good luck!

  5. When we briefed for a sortie at IP school he looked at me dead ass serious and said, “Hey man, if you see any ducks we need to aim for ‘em. I’m serious, I’m gonna kill every one of them fcukers.” He was one of the best pilots I ever had the pleasure and privilege of flying with and learning from. His intelligence and flying skills were only trumped by his personality...he was one hell of a great dude and aviator. Prayers to him and his family. Tailwinds to you brother. -Herk

  6. Advertised empty weight of 7000 lbs, mto 12000 lbs. Mil thrust 11000 and max thrust 17000. Should be a fun plane to fly!

  7. It's not specific to just one community either, we are definitely seeing a lower quality product showing up in the fighter community as well. You can bitch about it, or you can step up and make these kids better. They're able and willing, it's on us to accept the challenge the AF has given us. Not defending the AF for any of the bullshit decisions they have made, but by the time the product shows up to my squadron, it's now my problem. I'll make them better and get them up to speed. Wont be easy but we cant accept anything less.

  9. I'm guessing the dems and movements like #metoo don't have the SA to realize how much damage they've actually done to furthering women in our society. Hire a chick? Fuck that, she might call me out in 10 years for making a joke and I'll get fired. Invite a chick coworker out for beers after work with the guys - hell no, she may try to claim somebody got her drunk so they could take advantage. As a dad I'm saddened my son will have to be wary of every chick he comes in contact with. My daughter will likely lose opportunities because men don't trust her (and why would they not be wary?) This entire circus has set women back in our society.

  10. First off you still have a TON of time to go rated. So the dream IS NOT dead! This DQ is a small setback...they happen but with the right backing anything is possible. My advice enter your new AFSC and go all out and run with it. Do great work, network, network, network, build a solid foundation as an Officer with bitchin’ OPRs. And build a solid foundation of TRUST with your leadership now for potential reach back. Depending on your careerfield you may want to keep your rated aspirations quieter than in other AFSC in my experiences but feel out your leadership...they might be all in sooner versus later in my experience. Regardless, you can start your FC1 application any time. If your AFSC sees a flt doc your set(ish). Just ask your PCM you want to start your FC1 physical. If you see family medicine you have to ask to go see flt med to start your FC1. Regardless, you bring up what you posted above and the flt doc doing your paperwork will run with it. If it needs a waiver they’ll do that paperwork. If it doesnt need a waiver the flt doc should annotate it at a minimum and annotate its not a factor for FC1 per the waiver guide, afi xx-xx, etc. keep in mind when you get your FC1 approved though, Its only valid for 24months from certification from the AETC/SG per the UFT application AFI. Meaning dont start the process to get one approved in Jan19 when you wanna apply for the FY22 board. Your physical won’t be valid. Get the physical when u have an idea which rated board you intend to apply to. keep your head up boss. The air force is your muddy muddy oyster.

  11. Written by a retired Navy female O-5... Newsflash - Growing a friggin' mustache is not disrespectful of women. Here's an idea for the ladies: Start your own harmless, one-month-out-of-the-year tradition that is exclusionary toward men. Make it your unspoken-but-visible "FUCK YOU!" to the leadership/management, just like the original intent of Mustache March. Stop acting like the powerless, spoiled children you claim you're not, and start acting like the strong professional adults you claim to be. EDIT: add quote

  12. Well , there it is. Another letter-to-the-editor in AFTimes claiming Mustache March is exclusionary and tying it in with sexual harassment. enjoy this drivel - https://www.airforcetimes.com/story/opinion/2015/03/30/letters-soluri-pope-aaf-accident-mustache-march/70663566/

  13. LOL. This is easily the most butthurt comment I've read on baseops. Go cry some more, get it all out then come back and tell us how you really feel It's truly disturbing that someone "hates" another aircraft community so much that they take "pleasure" seeing our Air Force lose even more aircraft and capabilities than they have already. You need help bro, maybe you should go talk to the chaplain/SARC/IG and tell them about your problem with the KC-10 and how their aircrew members hurt you emotionally.
