The same types of words occurred in nearly every response from the Gen:
Listening, measuring, communicating, understanding, discussing, engaging, facilitating, thinking, ...
Doing anything? Not so much. Same as the last 5 years. Same as the next 5 years.
I wouldn’t say the Navy is doing fine, Bob. Talk to the dudes at Lemoore...I think you’ll find a lot of them trying to jump ship instead of get tx’d to F-35.
It was advertised on the MAF assignments and mentoring FB. I can't for the life of me understand why they don't have a CAF assignments and mentoring FB yet. But that's probably why most questions were 11M geared. I was really dissapointed at the evasiveness of some answers. But to General Shorts credit I respect he stepped out there to field questions from the masses.
Good luck getting someone to pick up the phone. I did, however, get a response to an email I sent them, albeit 3 days later. But I'll take any human interaction with that office I can get. They're in the global under Randolph>AFPC/DP2XXX (I forgot their 6-digit code but it's in the Palace Chase guide on MyPers.)
Good info, totally get it SocialD - Thanks! I do very well, but not like Purple or Brown shoes by any means to include the Big 3 and others. Really enjoy the crews and the flying, but compensation most definitely could be better. While there is plenty of money in Cargo, our folks aren’t really seeing it until a new contract is ever finalized - no real target on that. 🤔 I really am that guy flying rubber dog 💩out of Hong Kong 🥴😆😜 who I guess screwed up just that much 👌🏼 ... It’s good to have thick skin in our business and I actually do enjoy going to work if you can really call it that and it’s been all my choice. That’s a good effort at a run on sentence.
Every place has its hiccups, Military included. Priorities change and the repercussions are felt all the way down the line and magnified as well. It’s just unfortunate that these “repercussions” are not necessarily unintended/unknown when executed these days. Perception is reality it seems and $$$ drives the train.
Ditch the rank...Capt is where you top out...but make flight pay compensate for the extra pay normally associated with rank. The Canucks do it and it works pretty darn good for them. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
