If you want the most polished counter argument to the climate change dogma, look up the Manhattan Contrarian. The amount of manipulation to the data sets is so egregious it brings the entire theory into question. And where the hell did you guys get the idea she sailed across the Atlantic on her own? That didn't make you pause?

I watched the speech. It was stupid, but exactly the type of stupid I expect from an exploited child. I doubt she even wrote it. What kind of people convince a bunch of kids they are going to die in a decade or two from something that's barely supported by the data? You know these very adults don't actually believe their own BS, because they aren't throwing themselves into the gears to save the world. She rode a boat to get to the speech; the adults all took cars and planes. That's enough to tell you who's a true believer and who's just virtue signaling.

Stats are all about manipulation, really. Is it takes/eligibles? If the eligibles in Bombers were mostly not-pilots...there’s your answer.

I know a couple guys who did VA claims in your same position, no issues with AFRC. I have one friend who was in your position and got the break X from AFRC...as he was still actively flying fighters on AD. I say all this to highlight there is no guarantee either way. The “safest” bet WRT still being in AFRC is don’t do VA until retiring. But, this is not statistically relevant data, and you’ll probably get a few data points both ways when talking to pilots.

Yeah it was takes/eligibles, but the stats I saw were only for 11 series (11B/11U/etc). I don’t have the numbers handy, but 12 and 18 series were relatively high - ~60-75% - and not as applicable to the rated crisis imo. Although I bet their corner of the AF has the exact same problems 11X folks face, those folks do not have the same economic factors - read almost a guaranteed airline job/alternate employment - that allow them to easily transition out of the AF. Also they are much younger when they make that bonus decision because their commitment only takes them to 6-8 years, which I think means they are less jaded (have never competed for school or seen just how bleak AF opportunities can look past major).

Don’t worry guys. I’m an 11B up for the bonus this upcoming year, and I won’t be taking it. The guys I know that took it are patches and/or have school aspirations. So, like always, are guys that were going to stay in regardless. Or, irregardless if you prefer.

Everyone I know who took the bonus were prior-E’s or Prior-navs... so were committed to 20 anyway.... aka retaining no one

Sorry fellas, as part of my switch over from the Navy to 11M, I’m eligible for the bonus, so I took it. I’m sure I skewed the numbers 😂 In all seriousness, and I admittedly haven’t talked to a lot of tanker dudes yet, but I’ve yet to meet one who took the bonus.

Not sure, but about a year ago AFPC announced that any 11 that had been in RPAs longer than 5 years was being involuntary recat to 11U. Most those dudes planned on ridding it out to 20. Also, a lot of the initial 18X guys just came up on their commitment and most of those guys/gals were prior E or crossflow that we’re planning on staying to 20. I’m guessing this is affecting the percentages.

Could be padding the schedule due to the new format/categories.

I’ll echo what others have said. Don’t lie or hide anything. Or at a minimum don’t be stupid and try to claim something with the VA and then turn around and fail to let your AME know about the same condition/ailment. I personally know a bud who got in deep legal sh*t with the FAA and wound up indicted. That stuff is no joke. If you aren’t willing to talk about it with your AME, don’t take it to the VA either. On the other hand, it’s pretty surprising how much stuff is acceptable to have and still hold a civilian medical certificate. Tons of info out there so do some research if you have specific concerns.

It is very possible to be a convicted moron though. Having conviction and interest don't necessarily mean you know shit about the topic. I'm all for attacking ideas but think it is inappropriate to attack/denigrate the messenger regardless of age or mental acuity. Though in this case, her parents threw her to the wolves. As to the message ... Of course our climate is changing, as it has since the planet was formed. But the fear mongering and claims that humans are the main cause of it, is ludicrous and has no actual scientific (observable, quantifiable, and repeatable) evidence for support. The people who benefit from declaring that man is primarily responsible for climate change include everyone funded to study it, the Al Gore types who sell carbon offsets, the sellers of "sustainable energy" that takes more energy to produce than it offsets (e.g. windmills), etc. I'm all for us being more socially responsible and better stewards of our planet but I don't advocate using fear to manipulate and exploit. Lets continue to study and develop more efficient technologies that will reduce pollution. And, lets start with cleaning our oceans, which to me are the true tangible evidence of mans disregard for our planet. The Pacific's garbage patch is bigger than Texas!
