  1. There are many of us who have been married for a considerable amount of time (nearly 25 years in my case) and understand that playing Charlie Sheen may seem like a good idea; but in reality there is something to be said about spending your life with someone you love and raising a family with them...

  2. And there’s the rub. It’d be nice and desired to have both positives, but if we do only get one (because the perfect scenario is unlikely) which do people want? The thing that chaps my ass is how emotional people get and so easily turn a blind eye to facts. I think Obama was very well spoken, polite, resembled the “consummate” politician of a first world country, but I also think his administration fucked it away horribly and he did a terrible job. I think trump is the antithesis of those same qualities, but his administration’s policies and actions are in general far more in line with what this country needs (my opinion obviously). So, perhaps he is the blowhard asshole that we needed at this particular time in our country’s existence. Doesn’t mean someone like him is the answer in ten years, but for now I think we needed a shakeup in the political elite class across both parties. In the end, I don’t care who the man in the seat is or if I’d invite him to my bbq, I care what he and his administration does for America. And right now, the dems are run by socialists, so yeah, I’ll take the loudmouth asshole over that.

  3. Update: took the PFT today, it was the most thorough test I’ve taken for my lungs. The technician was very helpful and explained everything along the way and I came out normal 👌🏻 MCT is Thursday. They will never do the two tests on the same day because you are given an albuterol inhaler at the end of the PFT and you need time to get the medicine out of your system. this whole experience has been attitude driven. No one wants to fail you here. If you have the right attitude and mindset and give everything you have more than likely things will work out. In my 10 years of service I’ve never met a more positive medical staff who is there to help you succeed. will update again Thursday!

  4. In all fairness we can't always blame the "crazy chick"...although the last 4 divorces in my squadron have certainly been met with ridiculous court/lawyer costs due to unreasonable fights/vindictiveness by the wife. As I have an aversion for asking permission to buy stuff with money that I earned or to do things I want to do, I've just come to realize that it's actually me who probably isn't cut out for marriage. I'm certainly not against long term, monogamous relationships, I just don't think that marriage is a necessity for a long/happy relationship. If I ever decide to marry again, it will be with as solid of a prenup as I can buy...and hopefully someone who out earns me lol. My state doesn't recognize common law marriages anymore so that isn't as big an issue with long term partners.

  5. The real proof of the pudding will be if the promotion rates for each category are tailored to the needs and missions of the af. I don’t really care who’s on the operator board if the promotion rate is 90+%.

  6. It's only a no-go for fighters if you don't try. Tell the recruiter to politely eat shit, and go find someone willing to help. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  7. I absolutely agree with you that the Air Force SHOULD promote more pilots, but I’m not holding my breath that they actually will implement an effective plan in a way it would actually help out the problem. From the article: Kelly said that the “overall promotion board process for officers will remain the same. “We don’t want to change that at all, and we’re not changing it, But instead of competing against airmen from some 40 other Air Force specialty codes, Kelly said, “officers will be competing against a much smaller cohort of officers that are in jobs closer to their own.” To me, that doesn’t sound like they’re looking to just promote all the pilots...

  8. True, but it also means that ops folks will still have input on combat support boards, which I don’t think is something we’d be willing to give up. The proof will be in how the rates are distributed.

  9. So we still have some shoe clerk who knows jack shit about flying and puts no score emphasis on WIC, #1 IP, flying combat related awards/rankings, etc. They’ll still be putting emphasis on bullshit that doesn’t have to do with flying jets and killing bad guys. Not a whole lot different from what it has been. At least you won’t compete against the PA officer who has a shitload of time to projo and volunteer for a ton of stuff while doing their second masters.

  10. Exhibit 2: Sebastian Vettel pre & post Red Bull. As much as I can't stand Hamilton he is a phenomenal driver. Even with the equipment advantage it's hard to argue with some of his come-from-behind results going from 15+ on the grid to winning.

  11. Point of clarification. This was a subtle tongue in cheek reference to the fact the ex got caught on video having sex with her boyfriend in a public parking lot in broad daylight. Very dumb on her part and the kind of thing that can end up on multiple porn sites. Great thing for the kids/grandkids to see one day.

  13. If you think accused and convicted are the same thing, your legal understanding is lacking. House investigations and/or referrals are absolutely NOT the same as a Senate trial and removal from office

  14. The left will vote for whoever CNN/MSNBC tells them is good and can beat trump. Let’s not get too far into them caring about issues. Tulsi has no chance because the media hasn’t pushed her. You guys are critically thinking about stuff when the reality is, the avg millennial dem wants to know what free stuff they are getting and who will make them feel better/scare them the least. They want this conveniently via social media or quick blurbs, nothing in depth. Not a Trump lover but I hope he wins by a landslide. The dem platform flat out scares me. 15. Just got word today actually that the divorce is final and the judge signed the final judgement. There is so much to tell and I’m at a loss of where to start. The good news first. I got 50/50 custody of my kids through mediation. When it all came down to it all she really wanted was money. If we would have gone to court in our county in Florida I would have gotten reamed. I got unlucky and we got assigned a pro-mommy judge. So glad we settled out of court. The craziness is enough to write a book on, and maybe one day I will. During mediation, my lawyer asked me if I knew what “Borderline Personality Disorder” was. He said that my ex definitely has it. That actually answered a lot of questions I had about what the heck happened and I’m 100% convinced this is the case. Life is sooooo much better now. I didn’t realize how miserable me and the kids were. Now that I have my own place and my own life, I feel 100% free. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  16. That article specifically is one I was talking about. Trump literally admitted on the south lawn that he gives f*** all about the constitution. He asked Ukraine and China for help with the 2020 election. Not to mention the Mulvaney shitshow in the past few days. Its binary ones and zeros...this isnt up for interpretation. I mean I think we're on the same wavelength, but I really think Mcraven is for the boys and has our best interest in mind. I still think he doesn't lean one way or another. I think hes calling out dangers to our democracy. Maybe im wrong, hopefully not.

  17. Meh. Very, very good, absolutely. "Coolest?" Not so sure about that: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7578761/F1-petrolhead-Lewis-Hamilton-tells-fans-vegan.html Luck and timing, as always. Imagine how some of the other drivers would do at Mercedes instead of the also-rans. Bottas is a great example of that. His fortunes (literally) greatly increased after going from nobody Williams (great pedigree but not competitive in a very long time) to current Mercedes drive.

  18. I wonder if the Air Force truely saw this train wreck coming 15 years ago or not. Beating the snot out of our equipment, our people and going out of its way to kill all things morale in the operational units has had a devastating effect on all aspects of our service from UPT through senior levels of command. Very sad. People will talk with their feet. Deploy UPT IP's to make coffee and update slides and they'll eventually walk (they are doing it now). These are dudes looking for a "break" before they go back to an operational assignment (or won't after they separate). So... it is a lose/lose situation for the AF.

  20. Semantics. One could argue the entire process is designed to remove an elected official, not just the actions by the Senate. Six to one, half a dozen to another.
