Hi all,
Thought I'd create a separate thread from the AD UFT one. Anyone else reapplying/applying to the active duty civilian boards for active duty Air Force (not Reserve)? Curious if anyone else has had any success getting a UPT slot this route.
As a quick lesson learned from the last board don't let your recruiter force you to put any job on your sheet other than pilot. My recruiter(s) made me believe it was required to put alternate jobs beside pilot (put CSO as the 2nd choice just to get pushed through). Turns out that is not true and is absolutely not required. If your recruiter tells you this is required just move on and call a different one don't make my mistake.
F9, B6, and NK. Most here don’t know what that means, so I recommend you spell it out. This isn’t APC, and a few extra key strokes might make a difference.
So what are E-9s out doing these days as part of the OCP flightsuit uniform police? I miss getting Chiefed ever since I started wearing the two-piece a couple days a week. With the green bag I used to get talked to for rolling up my sleeves until that became legal again, so then I started leaving both lower cap pockets unzipped, but that didn’t seem to catch any E-9s outside of Maxwell. Somebody please help me out. I don’t know how much longer I can go without being “mentored”. I’m really starting to wonder if they care about me anymore. So the announcement came out on Tuesday. I got the signed paperwork turned in the same day, because my UPT ADSC expired already and I have another ADSC that is 7.5 years long for just starting a PhD program. So I was all about signing up for free money. The email said give DFAS 6-8 weeks, but I had the money deposited on Friday. They withheld 22% FYSA.
YMMV
Cut it down to one page. Full stop. If it's just over one, mess with the formatting to get it down to one. Honestly, there is no way your cover letter should be 3 pages. No one is going to read the whole thing. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app
Was the action worthy of firing a commander? Or more worthy of a closed door one-way conversation?
Does the firing contribute to the next guy being inflexible to mistakes that don't bend metal or hurt anybody?
Either way, DAL/AA/UAL/SWA, et al gain.
Made up narratives and postulating on things that didn’t happen nor were they close to happening is a bad way to live life and lead. Those are statements and questions made from fear (or AWC learning) than true reflection of risk vs reward and appropriate punishment for said actions.
I don't think I've been to a flying squadron without a heritage room. A chief (noner) I know erected a heritage room with a bar tap in an AETC training squadron that isn't affiliated with flying. I'm like why? Not trying to be a dick, but his CC let him do it and expects the inbound CC to shut it down. Anyone see a problem with the bar?
Said chief is going to a flying OG. He likes to slam doors and yell like he is back in SFS. I haven't said a word to him because if he does this in an OG, he can kiss his ass goodbye. Am I being a douchebag for not telling him he needs to tone it down before he leaves? I want to tell him nobody is going to be showing up on weekends to do PT with him.
