  2. “Gen Webb determined all 19 AF activities are mission essential (e.g., UFT, UNT, URT, FTU) . As such, all students need to move.“ The official memo should be flowing tomorrow, if not, Monday. Hopefully it will have more details.

  3. According to this, flight training is considered mission essential. So theoretically, it should continue. Sent from my SM-N975U using Baseops Network mobile app

  4. Huggy...that is right about when AFPC told me they wouldn't release me from fighters the first time. Took a few extra months, but you guys made it happen. Definitely a great program if it's the right fit! Hail Dragons!

  5. Yes, that was a decision that saved no money, and ruined an excellent program. I remember when "they" were giving the hairy eyeball to the T-38 CTP at Beale back in the 2006 timeframe. IIRC, we were flying around 3700 T-38 hours. Around 2005, there was an F-22 at Hill that sucked a gear pin down the intake and trashed the engine. Damage cost? About $6.9M... more than the entire 3700-hour budget of Beale's T-38 CT program.

  7. The extremely-online liberal left will continue to do their social justice warrior thing regardless of who the party nominates for President if that's what your asking, just like radicals on the right keep doing their thing regardless of what the GOP does or doesn't do. There's a conversation to have as to whether any particular leader or administration is amplifying or tamping down the most dangerously radical parts of their coalition if that's what you're getting at. To answer what I think you're asking, I would say Biden and his team are less likely to be interested in pushing SJW causes and language norms than Bernie and especially some of his surrogates might be.

  8. I remember that. Everything that doesn't fit some mold I have yet to perfectly visualize that the Bobs in charge think is right is always under the gun regardless if it is chump change in terms of money, personnel and trouble while adding value that is either not readily quantifiable like induced crew retention for military only opportunities, morale or military flight, tactics and leadership development. Bean counting a-holes with low experience in operations, intensive military training (participation in mil exercises, mission qual tng, etc..) or formal qual training don't realize that quantity of experience has a quality all its own. Just the shear number of sorties a mil pilot flies is going to put him/her/it (for the wokesters) into unforseen circumstances, hopefully rise to the occassion, learn something and debrief it to their peers so they all get stronger. Repetitions build experience, proficiency and confidence. That confidence is the basis of a good pilot so they can use more their nugget when things are not as planned, excrement hits the fan or they need to help a member of the team who is trouble/not as strong. Rant complete. Buy cool iron AF and get your mojo back.

  11. Well, you will be in a better position using the recommended strategy by most consultants and just plane common sense based on previous markets. Unfortunately we add yet another debacle which proves this investment strategy in an extreme environment. Very true regarding - none of us want to work ourselves to the bone during our final years, let alone now. Studies have shown that those who retire at 60 vs 65 live quite a bit longer in our business (Cargo studies based on some of the extreme schedules). Retiring early from any walk of life: It is highly recommended to have some kind of hobby to keep your mind busy; otherwise, you decline rapidly. 5 folks I know have passed within 5 years of retiring from the military. Coincidence maybe, but I will admit you lose your mission sense when you leave after many years of service and I myself had to refocus and create another mental game of that drive on attitude using my family, friends and contributor to our great nations economy. Regardless of the minutia and suck you all go thru, you are part of a small and very special group of warriors which no one (aside from your immediate family who rides the suck with you) will understand not having been a part of it. Great respect for you all in the military, law enforcement, Fire Fighters, and First Responders who maintain the highest standards to keep our nation from going full tilt. I will always remember it has been an voluntary force for many decades and it is a calling! My apologies for sliding off the tracks there.

  12. Any word on Fort Worth Vipers? Also an update for Selfridge. The most recent thing I’ve been told is that we’re doing a meet n’ greet during our April drill, and a board in May. Still unknown what contents are desired in an application but PM me and I can give you the hiring POC’s UPT e-mail Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  14. Different times. Didn't you hear? Wing don't need to keep visual while maintaining TAC position while working sensors on the sweep while not making an ass out of himself in the AOR. It's all BVR datalink Betty EZ-bake oven, pick-your-position formation and Windows 10 pop-up fire control systems. So easy a regional FO can do it, hell he might be better at it! Add some 2-piece snag-o-matic Army Cosplay in there for good measure (who needs their limbs after an ejection anyways) and 11F shortage fixed! 😄
