Pretty incredible to watch over the past ~20 minutes. I got goosebumps a few times and felt my heart beating faster than normal, too. An unbelievably awesome feat, and my wife and I felt our already tremendous American pride swell even more.4 points

I think because especially for the waist measurement and sit-ups, people are typically or necessarily all up on each other. I’ll say this though, COVID has destroyed more queep than any other entity, friend or foe, in the history of the US military. And for that I’m thankful. #SilverLinings4 points

That makes more sense to me and I agree the parlor tricks were dangerous, especially if you already are in poor health. Hence why I think the AF needs a more holistic approach and they need to start looking at what airmen are eating versus emphasizing so much time at the gym. It's 95% diet. Stocking the base's food courts with Anthony's Pizza, Charley's Grilled Subs and Pizza Hut no doubt contributes to this. And out health education in youngsters is abysmal Nationwide. Ill get off my soap box now.2 points

Gentlemen, thank you for taking time to reply with suggestions on how to access the report. MD, I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for your response in particular. Who could have thought that 29 years after the accident, a forum post would answer my question. MD, sir you are a truly an amazing person. I was in the same fraternity & ROTC with Eric.2 points

Oh dude I hear ya. The DFAC is probably the worst culprit. The point is though, the Air Force continues to approach health from the POV that it's exercise centered when it's mostly not. It's diet centered. Until the AF realizes and addresses that problem it will not stop a waist line epidemic in the force.1 point

^^THIS^^ The presents the illusion of control and ability to “make life decisions” In reality, the AF determines what is best for you.....again.1 point

Need to be ejection rated or not? Prior to the most recent uniform guidance, Solomon makes some good boots that a lot of AFSOC folks wore that were nice.1 point

Second this, I know more people sticking with their plans to get out as opposed to staying in.1 point

My guess is that the AF will not retain as many as it hopes it will as a result of this pandemic. While job prospects may be thinner right now, for those on the fence, they need to ask if they are willing to take on another four years (school for a year plus ADSC) to go to school.1 point

Thanks, @CharlieHotel47. It’s proof being a pain in the ass pays off. Haha. And @GreenArc, I appreciate the congrats and still can’t believe it actually happened half the time. But, through it all, what is quoted above is 99% of the game. If people like you because you’re a good dude(tte) that shows you want it, proves to be a solid wing that the folks around you don’t hate sitting in the jet with, and that you’re willing to put in the hustle and legwork to be ahead of the game, folks will move mountains to help make it happen. But, they’re not going to do it for you; you’ve gotta go above and beyond doing your part. If you bring a problem and no solution you’ve also brought yourself, most of your gatekeepers (recruiters, squadrons, IPs, etc.) are going to balk. Have paperwork ready before you’re asked or ASAP after getting it, offer to help where you can to move things along, and keep pushing. No biggie if you’re annoying; you’re the one wanting the job and not them, so you should be your biggest advocate. Good luck and feel free to ask away if you have questions. No one draw you an exact road map because situations are different, contacts change, and, frankly, you’d probably not be the first to ask exactly what to do. But, most folks will point you in the right direction and, if you have the hustle, you’ll find your way.1 point

Maybe that's why you haven't gotten an interview yet? I'd imagine that each unit wants to see passion and excitement over their own air frame and mission. Big difference between an F-35 and an A-10 in both the airplane itself as well as the mission set. What is your preference? Your stats are awesome by the way. Nice work!1 point

FOIA requests work well for the old stuff. I got my uncle's F-4 Vietnam shoot-down report that way several years back. Had all the family stories (more than one F-4 pilot in our family at the time), but it was interesting to see the actual report. On a semi-related note, got the flag and an empty glass out for some family remembrance on this Memorial Day1 point

Great article. Hopefully next time a great panic comes knocking we’ll delay tossing out freedoms at least until we have real data, not merely projections by self described experts. Speaking of which, now that data has disproven the experts, can we cease calling them experts?1 point

Yea that's totally true. An F-35 is just as exciting to me as an A-10. As somebody that flies 172s, I would die happy to just fly something like a T-6. Anything extra is points 🙂 Thanks for the kind words man!-1 points
