I think we can all agree after watching those interviews that Harris is just remarkably unlikable. Her fake smiling laughter “tick” is odd and off-putting.8 points

She’s a typical arrogant, smug California liberal. Hasn’t accomplished anything besides blow married men to get hired and put black people behind bars for drug offenses she herself bragged about. However, that fake laughter ? Not sure anyone sane could deal with that for 4-8 years. Yikes.6 points

This could go in the other thread but the AF did give me, average joe, non shiny penny, IDE via correspondence only a shot at running a squadron a few months back. So far so good. And for the record you have no idea until you take that guidon what it truly is like.4 points

Synopsis? I just watched the unedited 60 minutes after watching the actual 60 minutes. Holy crap. What a hit piece 60 minutes did. Man. Amazing liberal editing job. They even had to know the full video was out and they still went out and published their edited junk. And wow. Biden and K just seething with bold face lies. Never seen anything like it. It was bold in your face flat out lying. With evidence to the contrary already out in public. No fact checking needed. It was as if they were asked what is the most untrue ridiculous way you can answer this. And if K didn’t know the answer, she just awkwardly laughed. Which is her equivalent to Biden’s “come on man”. I’ve never been more sure of who I was voting for then after seeing those two liars tonight.2 points

Both George Bush’s. You can debate “well regarded” but they both were President of the United States. John Glenn2 points

Sure. 4 years. 2024 election will be between Harris and Nikki Halley. Mark the tapes.1 point

Following up on my own process here and hopefully it will help others. I contacted my Congressperson through their website and was able to eventually connect with a Congressional Liaison who submitted an inquiry on my behalf with the NGB/SG's office. I had to provide my MEPs paperwork and physical exams, clearance letters, and rehab report (this was a letter I wrote about my rehab process as I did all of it myself, and I also detailed by current level of physical activity). After 6 weeks, we received a response to the Congressional Inquiry that the NGB/SG Senior Branch Provider and Medical Director reviewed my case and determined they would recommend a waiver. I haven't connected yet with my unit on this-our last waiver attempt was 1 year ago and we haven't been in contact since as my recruiter thought there was no point to try a third waiver request (and I agreed based on 2 failed attempts)-but hopefully this will lead to the official waiver approval and next steps, finally. The big lesson here is to not take no for an answer, even if you have to go at it alone. Also, take care of your knees while you're young...1 point

It isn’t an ADSC, bro. You can leave any time after you complete other ADSCs or even transfer ADSCs. If you decline...ADSCs don’t matter you’re out 6 months after the board stuff IAW the AFI. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app1 point

He’ll serve 12 months; then have the “courage” to step down while his family deals with his newly diagnosed cognitive decline issues. Or they keep his body at the helm, and try and run the country behind the scenes like Cheney did...Either scenario, the most liberal US Senator will be POTUS sooner, rather than never.1 point

I'm at the point where if Lewis is in the lead with no one near him - I naively pretend he's just not in the race. As one can tell, I'm not a huge Hamilton fan. Having said that, the moments with his dad, who drove him to all of his cart races with the equipment, was heartening. It does remind me that he's not all BLM, or must say good things about the team in interviews - he's a human being. (Jeeze, it sounds like I'm crying, not my intention).1 point

This is up there with "you know, the thing!!" He's confusing Trump with Bush and his wife, multiple times, is side-mouthing "Trump." On a funnier note:1 point

No new info but reasonable to expect a delay given the SCOTUS nomination and the election timing. However, SASC can "voice vote" whenever they please after President sends his concurrence over to the Senate....so it theoretically could happen at end of month. Often times, they'll voice vote last day of the month for large lists.1 point

Copy all. Still going forward with my ceremony this Friday aka....about 8 people, one flag and several beers.1 point

Was responding to the idea that there’s nothing strategic in Eastern Iran by pointing out that the distance to the heart of Iran is similar to everywhere else. Never been a strat airlift pilot, so you’ll have to fill that TACC job yourself.1 point

Laughed more at Trump too, but I think that's tied into the "Trump style" of delivery being even more exaggerated. Dude's an entertaining, never said he wasn't. Building on that for the video I think is easier. I thought Biden's were "harder hitting" for whatever a fake rap battle is.1 point

I wonder if this is one of those things where I'd watch it and come to a completely different interpretation.1 point

I like them both a lot as well. I am fairly moderate politically with views from both sides depending on the topic. They both have a lot I like and a lot I dislike policy wise, but fully agree that they seem to actually care. I would vote for either of them in a heartbeat over the overwhelming majority of politicians from either side.1 point

Not enough of a reason to stay there or in Syria. Leave the ME, empower allies and partners to keep Iran in check with the price for support being accepting the existence of Israel. Look the other way when they do things we find in poor taste (to a degree). There's just so much Schliz in the cooler, we can't waste it in areas we don't have a vital interest necessitating a direct military presence. Damn genius Gump.1 point

If Al Assad and Erbil didn’t fully demonstrate the stupidity of basing key nodes within range of SR/IRBMs without associated PAC-3 coverage you really aren’t gonna get the severe risk of exposure all of Afghanistan is. Herat can’t be protected, neither can BAF or KAF or any other place in Afghanistan. There aren’t enough Patriot units to cover everybody, in fact even if there were that’s banking a lot on the countermeasure working 100% of the time. That doesn’t even begin to go into the discussion of just how convoluted and self licking an ice cream cone the movement of combat power necessary to sustain offensive ops in for example an Iran scenario would be. Just for sake of example... you can drive supplies and sustainment from ports in the Med to key nodes in the typical Middle East footprint far easier than you can move them either via ground route or air route into Afghanistan. That places is a logistical black hole when people aren’t trying to kill your supply lines. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

Which is standard political fare, though I'd love to hear the reasons why. To me he seems like the first in the new generation of intellectual conservatives who actually has a shot at becoming the president. Obviously the eye patch and amazing military story are a huge part of that, but also he is taking a considered attempt at being more than just a talking head. His podcast is quite interesting, as is Ted Cruz's. He seems like one of the few clean politicians on either side right now, I hope he stays that way. I think he would win in a landslide.1 point

Tehran is 550nm from Herat, 400nm from Kuwait, and 650nm from AlUdeid and Dhafra. Also, the route is significantly less defended. Maybe not worth the logistical expense, but it’s certainly not inconsequential.1 point

I'm a fan of Dan Crenshaw, but I understand there are many who aren't. I also like Tammy Duckworth, even though I don't share her political views. I absolutely think she fights for what she believes in and she's there to make the country better. We just have different ideas of how to do it.1 point

Our very own Congressman perhaps? AFAIK he was a stand up dude when he was in and seems to be acquitting himself in congress fairly well so far.1 point

This is an example of why I have a problem with the LGBTQA+ movement. When DOMA was challenged in 2013/2015, we were told that this was about two loving monogamous people just trying to have equal rights under the law IRT marriage. I have said all along that this was not the case. This is not, never was and never will be simply about "rights". It is about taking a wrecking ball to our society and its views on the traditional family and traditional norms. We are seeing it play out every day now with the war on pronouns, the transgender movement, etc. And this all comes after DOMA was ruled unconstitutional. This is why I have a huge issue with the left. The left is never honest about what they are REALLY after. You see it in every movement on the left whether it is gay rights, the climate, gun control, economics, health care, etc. All that to say that I do not personally have a problem with gay people. Our 19 year old daughter is in the process of coming to terms with her sexuality. My wife and I have known since she was probably 10 that this was going to be something she would struggle with. As Christians, we have struggled with navigating this mightily. We support her and love more than anything else in life. Our message and guidance to her has been to not let her sexuality define her. More than anything, I want her to be a honest, productive, educated, hard working member of society who loves who she loves. We don't support things like rainbow stickers, flags or shirts that promote sexuality one way or the other. And she gets it. She doesn't throw anything related to her sexuality around. She just is who she is.1 point

That’s probably the most interesting part to me, I see this two ways. 1 - no attempt or 2 - non-successful attempt. Either way, it’s a sad situation for their families and the Whiting Field team. The IP’s truck at VT-2, as it currently sits.0 points

Spoken like a stereotypical (thankfully it's a stereotype that the vast majority don't fall into) strat airlift pilot. You are ready for TACC.-1 points
