Remember when the news outlets dutifully ignored the story about Donald Trump and some Russian hookers engaging in piss-play in a hotel? I don't believe the election was "stolen." But Victor Davis Hanson puts it best when he explains how it was "rigged" through a concerted effort to suppress negative information about Joe Biden. If you have an hour, this is a great look into the pro-Trump perspective. If you don't have the time, watch from 4:45 - 8:15. Do I think it means the SCOTUS saves the day? No. The media problem isn't something the government can solve. But everyone laughing and scorning the Trump team for making bold claims in public that never materialize in court sure seem to be forgetting the Adam Schiff (D) show on CNN for several years assuring us that Donald Trump was a Russian puppet, and using his position on the Intelligence Committee as standing to back up the claim. Yet nothing was every taken to court. There is no honest way to argue that the same standard has been used on Joe Biden as has been used on Donald Trump. That hypocrisy is very, very visible to conservatives. And whenever (D) voters get into a conversation with (R) voters, there is a general refusal to admit the clearly obvious difference in treatment between the two. And when that is pointed out, inevitably it's some variation of but Donald Trump is so much more offensive. He cheats on his wives! His businesses fail! His kids are only doing well because of Daddy! But to say these things in such a manner completely ignores the reality of politics. Bill Clinton was getting his dick sucked by a 22 year old in the oval office, while very much married. Kennedy was flying 19 year-olds around the world for drug-fueled orgies, also married. Sanford, Gingrich, and plenty of other republicans too. John Edwards had a love child while his wife was dying of cancer. Hillary Clinton literally ran a server in a bathroom that she had destroyed when it was discovered. Then lied about having the emails from the server. These people are monsters. And going back before Trump, George Bush, by every account a decent man, was called a Nazi. Mitt Romney was maybe the most charitable politician in history, and he too was smeared as an evil monster. And don't even get me started on Brett Kavanaugh. So is Trump a horrible person? Yup. But not one fucking percent more horrible than the parade of Democrats and Republicans who hate him so furiously. And now Joe Biden is getting a pass for his kid clearly and obviously using the family name for profit, and kids are off limits? Didn't seem so for the Trump kids. And when evidence (yes, first hand testimony is evidence) comes out that Joe Biden was aware, well that's just one guy saying some stuff. If photos of Tiffany Trump snorting coke while she worked for a Russian company making $50k/month in an industry where she had zero experience or skill were to make it public, the whole world would erupt, and we all know it. I wish both side would be more honest about their candidates and their beliefs. But we're human, we don't like to admit any shortcomings of our own team. I'm just as tired of my god-fearing Christian airline captains acting like Trump is a good man as I am of democrats or centrists pretending like their preferred politicians are somehow less corrupt or less dishonest than Trump. Bullshit.5 points

Not only did they conspire to steal the edition by creating millions of votes out of thin air but they convinced the most conservative Court in a generation to go along with it unanimously. How deep does the rabbit hole go, Q?4 points

Dude, feel free to spam the thread. I don't think anyone here is gonna go - "Fuck pics of bad ass aircraft."3 points

I suggest going back through this thread from the beginning. We've been laughing at people based off how they look and act for years. That's the most maddening part of the progressive push. It's been okay from the start to have a private laugh at people wearing the craziest shit imaginable in a Walmart shopping aisle, but now it's taboo to chuckle at a dude who literally looks like a clown while simultaneously piggybacking on a movement with questionable motives and throwing in a nod to people who feel mutilating sexual organs should be celebrated. That's not being mean, that's looking at a picture and honestly thinking "What the fu%k?", which also happens to be the title of this thread. This is a private forum where a bunch of bros shoot the shit. No one here would go try to make the pictured dude's life hell, and you know it. So thanks for trying to chastise us like we're children for laughing at the wrong thing, but I'm going to just keep on finding humor wherever it presents itself and tell you to fu%k off instead. Edit: Why can't I say "fu%k"?2 points

The irony is the intent of the test (beyond muscular endurance) has always been a desire to measure VO2 max. You can do that walking up to a machine and placing a sensor on your finger.2 points

I wanted to write this long post so you and others know they're not alone in experiencing these feelings and circumstances you expressed. I haven't been logging this information so it's all coming from memory. I was hired around March 2020. In about three months' time I think I was assigned around five Officer Accessions Recruiters. One of which was particularly worthless and admitted to me multiple times he didn't care about his job any longer because he was retiring in a few months. While I appreciated his honesty, it made the process suck even more than it already did because he was the current gatekeeper to my future. I think I had to talk with my sponsoring unit's point-of-contact about the recruiter because the apathy got that bad, which then made some gears start turning in my process. The pandemic shutdowns happened around this time and did not help. I then got another Officer Accessions Recruiter who seemed to both know his stuff and had the drive to get the process moving. While that ended up being true, he did tell me I was one of several hundred other applicants he was assigned. In June we sent the documents to MEPS requesting them to see me. A few weeks later, MEPS denied me, and said I had to get more records for something. I then scheduled a private physician appointment with the closest opening being several weeks out, spent several hundred dollars, then the medical record had ambiguous language due to the physician's software being used and by the fact the physician did not understand what I was requesting when I went there, despite me clearly stating it several times and him acknowledging it. About a week later, and with calling both his staff and the hospital which owns the clinic about ten times playing telephone tag, the physician got the record straightened out. My recruiter then sent another request for MEPS to see me. The recruiter then called me later on to say I had multiple things that needed serious waivers. I was shocked and asked him to check his information because I thought he had the wrong applicant. He checked his information (I think it took a few days for him to get back with me) and my belief ended up being true, he got me mixed up with one of the other several hundred applicants. That was a stressful few days. MEPS responded to the second request and said they wouldn't see me, so my recruiter had to request the Air Force Surgeon General's staff to override MEPS which forced MEPS to see me. I then went to MEPS and an ancient Chief Medical Officer misdiagnosed/disqualified me, and believed a separate prior temporary condition which hasn't affected for years was an issue and disqualified me for that too. I then scheduled another private physician appointment with the closest opening being several weeks out (sound familiar?), spent even more hundreds dollars, and thankfully got good medical records from the start this time, which showed the MEPS CMO was wrong. The new documentation was sent to MEPS by my recruiter, and I visited MEPS a second time in November 2020. While at MEPS for the second time, I thankfully was assigned a different physician to examine me (not the CMO). This physician asked me what I had done to improve my condition (which did not exist). I told him I was misdiagnosed last visit at MEPS by CMO so-and-so, the physician laughed and made comments about how the misdiagnoses happened frequently with that CMO. Oddly enough, that CMO was not there when I went the second time and it was actually a different CMO, who was much younger. Maybe the CMO I had the fist time was also experiencing retirement performance apathy and had since retired? Anyway, this physician then examined me and found me within parameters of what MEPS and the AF Surgeon General wanted. The physician scoffed at the idea that the separate prior temporary condition as being an issue and said it was no problem. He also told me he believed the misdiagnoses should be taken out of my file, but said he did not want to do so because it would be too much paperwork.... I didn't care because I fell within what MEPS and the AF SG wanted. I left MEPS literally fist-pumping in the parking lot (I don't care if it's cringe) and was then granted the official waiver by the AF Surgeon General this month. Now onto the wait for the initial flight class 1 physical examination. MEPS will try to railroad you at every step of the way. It's like getting your vehicle registered at your state government office on a Saturday. Go here, do this, you don't have something go away, now come back, your recruiter didn't send this or that, sit down now tell me... do you have records for that time you said you had the sniffles when you were four years old? No? Come back in two months when you do. Next! I had to articulate an on-the-fly request to the MEPS physicians to measure me a different way, sure enough they did and determined me to be within the regulations. I had to ask the eye examining worker to repeat themselves about six times because their thick Puerto Rican accent made it impossible for me to understand which line they wanted me to read letters from. MEPS is not recruit/officer training. What I mean by that is do NOT think down on yourself for thinking/acting about only YOURSELF at MEPS. Once you're at officer training, then you're a part of a team and what's best for the team comes first, but that team mentality does not exist at MEPS even though it seems like it due to how it's structured. There is zero practical customer service/satisfaction at MEPS and you'll be out the exit door with a disqualification faster than you even knew what they disqualified you for if you let them. Can you tell I'm jaded about MEPS? 😄 The whole waiting process is tough because I think, generally, those of us who have been sponsored by units have self initiative to take charge of our own affairs; which is probably one trait contributing to the fact we were sponsored in the first place. Having to leave this bureaucratic process in the hands of other people (recruiters, physicians, et cetera), who don't care about your future as much as you do, is tough. The wait and bureaucracy does, on its surface, make it feel as if the Air Force doesn't care about us. Except you have to take a step back and remember you've been chosen, among hundreds and thousands of other people to have the opportunity to pilot the coolest aircraft, in the best air force, of the best Nation on this planet, all paid for by the tax-payer. Pulling myself back and remembering that is something which keeps me motivated. Between almost every big step in my process has been about a month's wait. Sometimes less, but usually never shorter than two weeks. I've gotten used to it at this point, still heavily dislike it though. I'm expecting two years from hire date to OTS. Lean on your sponsoring unit's point-of-contact for help if you're legitimately stuck. Give requests to private physicians in writing if possible, they don't understand how MEPS works and what MEPS wants or doesn't want to see. Speak up for yourself at every step.1 point

I met somebody who looked like that at a party once. Turns out that person was an accomplished economist who redesigned the banking system of Monaco to accommodate crypto-currency. 8/10 would hang out with again, but I’m not interesting enough to get the invite. Millionaire many times over. Their partner also looked like that... and was a total mess. Is there more context here? Is BO.net a place we go now to make fun of people for how they look and the t-shirts they wear? That’s some high-school lunch room bullsh1t. I think most here would be happy to engage in a discussion of “black trans lives matter” (and most would likely agree with what I’m assuming you think about it). I’d also be disappointed if this has become an acceptable place to just be plain mean to somebody in a random photo.1 point

I'm jealous of people who can do this. I suck at running and spend about three months following a Garmin 5K plan to get ready for the run every year.1 point

Well, the Air Force is facing very high retention right now due to the pandemic. Overall retention is to a point that voluntary (and I'd bet involuntary shortly after) separations are probably going to begin in the next year or two. There's a limited number of seats available in the AF, and you can't take one until someone separates/retires. And of the seats that become available on the officer side on active duty, Academy grads fill them first, followed by ROTC, and then OTS fills in the gaps (unless you have a critical skill that the AF is not getting through the other commissioning sources). Can't speak to the guard/reserve side specifics, but I'd imagine they have a system to balance the number of new pilots needing UPT (with limited spots available nationwide) and experienced pilots leaving AD, some of who need no additional training (i.e. cost/time) to be useful to the hiring unit. It's just luck and timing, and unfortunately right now it seems you have bad timing. It's probably not anything personal, but the AF is a large bureaucracy, with limited end strength allowed. Keep following up with your recruiter though, and good luck1 point

I get what you're saying, but the difference is, you're a nobody. Not a slam. I'm nobody too. But Both Obama's and Biden's staff were aware and concerned about what Hunter was doing. That doesn't make it Joe's fault, but are we going to pretend he didn't know, as he claims? Nonsense. He's unfit. So is Trump. So with two unfit people running, one traditionally unfit (corrupt to the ears, but maintains an outward appearance of propriety) and one untraditionally unfit (morally bankrupt, yet proudly and loudly so). So I go for the policy. There are a lot of voters like me. Dislike Trump, like the policy. And there are a lot more people like the MAGA crowds, who don't know policy, they just see the huge contradictions in reality. Ben Shapiro's podcast from yesterday is a near-perfect encapsulation of the massive double standard that the less-knowledgeable conservatives, such as my father, can see clearly.1 point

Appreciate the feedback, I've gotten requests for all of those airframes in the past and planning on eventually doing each one. As of now I've got an Apache, Hornet, Viper, T-6, and P-51 planned for the short term. Admittedly I've neglected heavies over the years which I will try and make up for. I just added a few more prints to my Etsy page with over a dozen still in the works. Make sure to use the 20% off code if you order something! I'll try not to spam this thread with every print I do but heres a few more examples (last one was a commission for a change of command):1 point

Thanks. I've got folks who've had to unfollow their parents/husbands on social media for stuff like that. Funny seeing it satirized.1 point

Quit the woke BS, focus on populist positions. Look at infrastructure, building on a return to American-focused labor policy, etc. Raise taxes/eliminate the number of deductions. There’s a reason why so many blue-collar Democrat union workers voted for Trump. You don’t get those folks back with a shift to the hard left.1 point

The whole thing was nothing but a typical AF good idea fairy experiment that does more bad than good. The Lackland GS-13 who invented the program was able to persuade the GOs to go along with this thing that morphed into a promotion and force shaping discriminator. Let's not forget the birth of the FACs who are made up of unqualified GS-6s that had more power over an airman's career based on how tight they want to pull on the tape or the visual inspection of the elbow angles. It was never about health, everything we do in the Air Force is about promotion first and foremost. How can I get promoted from this?1 point

The fact that you either have to vote for her or Trump is exactly what is wrong with the two party system in America. Dems and republicans include too many groups that totally make no sense pairing up.1 point
