  2. Hi all, In the past few years I have honoured to witness some excellent lowfly from the guys and gals of the USAF, and in turn they have recommend that I share some of the snaps with you here. Keep up the great work, and if you are ever in the position of planning a lowfly sortie in the UK and would like some high quality photos then drop me a DM and hopefully we can sort something out. Discretion assured, many thanks for looking, enjoy the photos.

  3. I’m satisfied with the UPT product. Are they overall as good aviators as 1990....maybe not. Do they need to be? No. It’s a different game. UPT standards over 30 years don’t mean much. I taught t-38s a decade plus ago and we washed kids out for stuff that isn’t even deemed relevant now. I was in my first B course 18 years ago today. Little to none of it applies to what I’m doing now. What took 12 jets to go back then, I can do with 4 today, safer and faster. Lots of old people decry change. I welcome it. Oh, and the T-1 is a huge reason we lowered attrition. Turns out KC-135 pilots don’t need 4-ship tac formation....no sh-t....!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  4. I'm tending to agree with you on Ricciardo. I'm also starting to wonder the same thing about Vettel. Vettel has consistently underperformed in comparison to his teammate for the last couple of years, so you can't blame the car... I'm also looking forward to the sprint qualifying. I can see lots of variables bringing a level of uncertainty and excitement to what is currently a very boring and predictable qualifying session.

  5. SBR Form 1 took about 3 weeks from submission to approval through eForms. I’m shocked the gov could do anything that quick. All that to say the paperwork was a bit of a PITA to get together, but overall not too bad and totally worth it! Now to shoot this thing and hope it doesn’t blow up in my face (first AR I’ve completely built myself).

  6. For all you test pilots. True home build hanging it out there more than I'd be willing to.

  8. Well everyone's asking why they're offering such a shitty bonus, and the answer is because people are still taking it. Why would they raise it when they can keep it low and still have plenty of takers? Vote with your feet.

  9. And that is really the key. Showing the drama (in anything) is financially beneficial to whatever news outlet is displaying it. But, there is another component to this equation - the folks who consume their drama products... Not many people even understand the level of truth in what content they consume, we gravitate to the news that makes us feel good in our own beliefs - even if completely false. This whole thing feeds itself, and is nearly self-perpetuating. And just damn ugly to watch.

  10. All true words. I personally believe that senior USAF officials who want to maximize retention intentionally (if not consciously) hope to keep service members from understanding the real power of that word: "no" by trying to keep us focused on the money aspect, instead of the quality of life as a civilian, TR, or guardsman. But even there they fail. The 25k bonus from the 1990s should be a bare minimum of 37-40k to account for based on inflation alone. It's a barehanded slap to our intelligence.

  11. Congrats to Verstappen; a boring drive caused by a really good performance. Well done to Hamilton with the comeback. Russell is lucky he didn't get his ass handed to him literally. I'm betting he did figuratively by Mercedes and Wolf for his unprofessionalism. As evidenced by his public and full apology to Bottas. Don't bite the hand that's probably going to feed you, kid... The more I watch Riccardo, the less impressed I am by him. He's running out of teams to try and not be under pressure by his teammate. Overall, pretty interesting race. I enjoy the uncertainty that rain brings to the performance.
