He's a tool, like all of them, and he makes bullshit arguments like the best politicians in the world. Why isn't Marx or Lenin on the reading list? First inconsistency. Second, if he's comparing the reading of Marx and Lenin to Kendi (for understanding alternate views), is he acknowledging that all three are morally bankrupt? I assure you he would not claim that about Kendi lest his career be put in jeopardy. Third, if you read Marx and Lenin to learn about communism, wouldn't you read Duke or Jared Taylor to learn about white supremacy? Where are those recommendations? Once again liberal voters are being taken for a ride. CRT, just like anti-racism, has existing literature. You can read it. It's crazy at best, *overtly* racist at worst. But the people who wrote the books and the hacks who promote them lie on TV about the very content they created. It's wild. If you haven't read "How to be an Antiracist" or "White Fragility," maybe don't be so quick to defend them.4 points

High paying is high paying, is it not? Either this or with a company with more than a few employees. I don’t have to like it, and neither do you, but these GOs will have zero problems getting hired by a legitimate business if that’s what they want. They have more influence and connections than you or I could ever dream. And with the defense industry/military industrial complex only getting larger, those businesses are even that more hungry for retired GOs.3 points

CRT is also EVERYWHERE in the public school system, and has been injected for a long time now. It’s a hot topic because parents are finally realizing what bullshit is being taught to their kids and they’re pissed. Go do a little research into your local school district - very good chance CRT exists on a varying scale. This is not a flavor du jour topic, or at least it shouldn’t be.3 points

They can talk about whatever useless nonsense they want in sociology classes.. perfectly fine by me. That degree already isnt worth the paper it's written on so CRT conversations certainly aren't going to change that. But with CRT itself I don't think we need to wait at all. Despite entering the mainstream very recently it's been around for decades and is basically Marxist class struggles repackaged in terms of race. The gist is that any outcome differential between racial groups along any metric imaginable can be chalked up to a racist system. The part they don't want you to know is that since differentials between groups have and always will exist, "the work" needed to alleviate "systemic racism" will never be complete. And If you disagree with the assertion that all of the systems are racist, that's because you're a beneficiary of those systems which only increases your need for remediation. If the goal is to permanently cast oneself as the victim, it's basically a perfect ideology.3 points

Bro... Given his entire adult life? Have you seen what the AF is like once you make colonel? Being busy is not a sacrifice, especially with the attendant rewards of being a general officer. I know plenty of corporate executives who work every bit as much as the O-6+ class, and more. They miss family events, work on vacation, and also very little sleep. Like the generals, they do it for the pay, power, and prestige. And they aren't bad people for it. They also aren't martyrs. There are good ones and bad ones. But an undying passion for the flag gets you through boot camp, not War College.2 points

That's your risk. But you also put others at risk if you pass on the infection. Like saying "my odds of dying in a car accident are less than one percent, so I can do 70 in a 35 and I'll probably be fine". You aren't the only person affected by your actions. Hard to imagine we've gone from a nation that stormed Normandy to one that won't get a shot.2 points

Mansplain: you see, Gertrude, there are some carriers that are so “ate up” that they cannot tolerate the slightest of what may appear, on the surface, to be an error. They therefore extend, on occasion, a modicum of grace to the hapless applicant in the form of what may be colloquially referred to in the lower lexicon as a fix it. You’re welcome.2 points

As it should be. We should absolutely reap the benefits of our success in dramatically reducing the numbers of sick and dying of coronavirus. Doesn’t mean pawnman is wrong though. Vaccination is not a purely transactional “how does it affect me” issue. Yes, a vaccine will be effective at preventing negative effects for an individual. But the real effectiveness lies in vaccines’ benefits to society as a whole. Vaccinate enough people and the disease can be almost entirely suppressed. I don’t think anyone should be forced into vaccination in a free society, but I encourage everyone I know to get it just for the simple fact that I don’t want to experience any more lockdowns or public health measures that negatively affect my quality of life.2 points

I highly, highly recommend everyone listen to episode 1671 of Joe Rogan's podcast with guests Bret Weinstein and Dr Pierre Kory. It's the closest thing that I've seen to an incontrovertible conspiracy theory play out in real life. Summary: Critical information on the benefits and efficacy of the drug Ivermectin for treating Covid has been suppressed by media outlets, tech companies, the pharmaceutical industry, and the government for almost a year now. It's possible that Covid could have been close to completely eradicated within six months using this ultra-inexpensive, ultra-effective treatment.2 points

If you're worried about covid, get the vaccine then you should be fine - Right? Why do I have to get it if I'm not concerned? What if someone has already had covid? Should they be required to get the vaccine?2 points

The thing is though, a lot of the “slight left leaners” these days have fallen in line with some absolute bat shit leftist stuff. Look at what figures in politics, sports, media, business, and even some in the military, say and support publicly today that not all that long ago would have been thought insane. I don’t really think it’s a conspiracy theory when it’s right out there in the open for people to see. The million dollar question is why are these people doing this? I tend to agree that many of them are not secret marxists, which to me is even scarier. That means they have at some point recently taken the bait that these ideas aren’t so bad after all. It means that the soft words of equity, inclusion, etc… and the fear of being cancelled is probably working.1 point

Most vaccinated people are not afraid of you spreading the virus to them. They’re afraid of you spreading it to the other anti-vaxers and prolonging the negative effects of this virus to our society. Thousands more sick and dying is tragic and detrimental to our way of life. Know the shortest way to not having to wear masks on airplanes anymore? It’s called heard immunity and we could get there in a month if you guys would come around to reason. I keep hearing about individual risk assessment. You should also factor in societal risk assessment when making your decision. It’s about more than just you.1 point

and then you "fail" the Hogan lol. Airline application process is so schizophrenic. Today's persona non-grata is tomorrow's "tier I" applicant. Kinda like the AF actually. 😄1 point
-
Do I really? I mean if the vaccine works, then what are the vaccinated afraid of? I won’t affect them…unless they actually don’t believe the vaccine works. And kids under 12 is a non-starter argument…they’re sitting at a 0.00025% chance of death (if they get it). Those were actual numbers, from the CDC. Swing and a miss on that accusation. But to the rest of your general point, I’m not arguing there is statistically relevant data saying the vaccine is deadly, but rather saying the data completely supports not getting it as a rational decision. Individual risk assessment is certainly subjective, so for some, these numbers don’t trip the decision to skip vaccination, and that’s totally fine. You do you. But also, go fuck yourself if you’re going to try and force your decision onto others. Actually it’s an unemotional point referencing CDC data, made by a guy with a 5 page long vax record. You do you, but you look like a dip shit when you launch ad hominem attacks on someone because they have a perspective differing from yours.1 point

Helo is right, no matter how big of a douche canoe they are, they'll have zero problems finding something on the outside. Douche canoes take care of douche canoes...there is no justice. I've saw an O-6 black-balled from pretty much everywhere he tried to go, and one of the (many) people he fucked over, flat out told him it was happening. He deserved every bit of it.1 point

Covid has killed 619K Americans. Assuming the population of the country was 350M, that’s 0.177% of the entire US population. Out of the 34.5M recorded US cases, that’s 1.8% mortality rate (likely lower due to unreported cases). There were 5479 reported deaths (to any cause, not necessarily related to vaccine) following a COVID vaccine out of 318M doses (0.0017%). CDC and FDA are required to look into each report. Of those 5K, so far only 3 are linked to the vaccine (1:100M). The CDC reports your chances of having a severe reaction is about 1:200k, or less. I don’t think anyone is trying to say that these vaccines are absolutely perfect, but compare it to any other vaccine our society has commonly accepted as safe—take typhoid for example—and the efficacy of Covid-19 vaccines are pretty damn good. If we’re going to throw around numbers, let’s at least use actual data.1 point
-
You can make that argument. But it shows a complete misunderstanding of how vaccines and the immune system work.1 point
-
I have a 0.014% chance of death IF I contract Covid...no logical risk management process says, “99.986% of success isn’t good enough, we need to lower the risk more!” When it comes to personal risk assessment, you do you, no judgement here. But it is quite logical to look at the numbers and say, “yeah I’m good with that chance of death and won’t be pumping more synthetic shit into my body.” I don’t have to sacrifice my body for the people who have their own personal health issues...judging those who make such a risk assessment based on the data out there is pretty illogical and misguided. Also definitely go listen to a pod cast or two with Dr. Weinstein as said earlier...holy shit.1 point

“Fix It” meaning your application. There’s a missing date, or employment timeline error, or some other incomplete info. Basically, they’ve actually reviewed the app, so fix this so we can give you an interview.1 point

Studying it objectively in a university sociology class is ok with me. Assuming every one is allowed to discuss openly without forced bias or shaming. If biases were being presented, that would be something that needs crushing. Regarding “critical race theory” itself, I’m willing to wait to learn more. About a year ago someone on this board observed that America only cares about a particular hot topic for about 2 months max. Seems to be true so far.1 point

I think senior generals are heavily influenced by the whims of the administration. It is also possible that he's busy, doesn't have the bandwidth to fully look into this stuff, and does not realize now nefarious the content he's quasi-endorsing truly is.1 point

Do you really believe a four star who has given his entire adult life to service of our free market, democratic way of life is somehow secretly endorsing, or has been forced to endorse Marxist socialism? I’ll be the first to agree that general officers can be out of touch and tainted by politics, but this point of view strikes me as a bit much.1 point
-
Agreed on Ingram and gaetz. But hugely object to putting CRT trash like that on the reading list just to be "well read." I noticed that Marx, Lenin, etc.. aren't on there. Which is a good thing because those are bad ideas and antithetical to fundamental American principles. We should know what CRT is, but only for purposes of debunking it. Featuring critical race theory on the chiefs reading list is a de-facto endorsement, and I would bet the good general was "strongly encouraged" to include those titles by administration officials who have a vested interest in this ideology that goes much deeper than being "well-read" and "understanding the American people"1 point

No, most vaccines take about a decade to get approval. In addition, only about 6% of vaccines ever get approval. We just approved four in literally months. Hard pass for me dude, but I also eat well and work out often. It's easy for those who have not taken care of themselves for decades and who are at risk to ask others to sacrifice for the benefit of those who are at risk. Tough.1 point

What did you guys think of Gen Milley’s comments about woke culture and critical race theory? I thought they were pretty reasonable, and i also think that Laura Ingram went off the deep end. Also, Gaetz is a doucheclown.1 point

I am very far removed from these circles, and my only current contribution to the military is being a taxpayer. That said, in the civvie world, when a promotion doesn’t make logical sense (not based on merit, etc), the usual answer seems to be based in meeting some diversity metric. YMMV.1 point

Boys, if you get hired somewhere, keep all your other apps on file and updated for at least a year. With the amount of movement going on right now, you'll probably be able to switch companies with minimal loss in seniority and be able to end up somewhere with a domicile that works better for you.1 point

Now thar so much more is coming out, it’s clear this entire thing was the bullshit many of us suspected from the start. A Chinese bio weapon escaped from a lab funded by the very people insisting it wasn’t. Masks were just a distraction to avoid this fact, and the doctors forcing masks compliance knew they were useless. Medically valid and effective treatments ignored and derided to push experimental vaccines. Those vaccines now mandated for college students in little danger from C19, but the vaccines are making their hearts explode. Medical doctors censored and banned from media for pointing to evidence. Have all the “conspiracies” come true or only most? 3 years ago, I wouldn’t have believed anything this insane and dystopian could rapidly grip America. I was totally wrong. We are living in scary and unpredictable times.-1 points

As I said, I hope to never have to serve with you. By the way, when are commanders getting relieved of duty for selective enforcement of the policy?—exactly. Oh and don’t forget, you said if you were a commander that you would hunt down those who weren’t wearing a mask and didn’t have the vaccine (ie nothing about the member lying)…and somehow this now applies to “lying to my face”. What a joke…-1 points

Thank you for answering my questions with another question. Makes it obvious that you can’t or don’t want to answer them. But coming from a guy who would give anyone an Article 15 for speeding, not wearing a reflective belt, etc…I’m not surprised. You do know that you can see the foolishness of your ways and admit that you were wrong, right? Or are you sticking to your original post below?-1 points

So much emotion with this from everyone. My family got the vaccine because my wife works with immunocompromised children that can’t get it…. not because we are concerned about ourselves. Every M.D. we know got it the minute they could (even pregnant or nursing)… so we trusted their decisions and followed, because as it turns out, I’m a pilot and not a medical professional.-1 points
-
One could make the argument that getting the vaccine and hurting ones immune system to fight the virus naturally in the future and require booster shots actually increases the size of the reservoir in which the virus can hide as compared to someone with naturally built immunities. The body is a wonderfully designed thing.-4 points
