  1. Big problem is these idiots come out here and think it's perfectly normal to pay stupid prices for real estate, because it's a "good deal," compared to the exorbitant prices they're used to in the city. Then they start to vote in the same idiots they just fled. Like a beaten wife who thinks their husband has really changed, they think it will be different. Stay where you're at and don't fuck up our area too!

  3. Helo is right, no matter how big of a douche canoe they are, they'll have zero problems finding something on the outside. Douche canoes take care of douche canoes...there is no justice. I've saw an O-6 black-balled from pretty much everywhere he tried to go, and one of the (many) people he fucked over, flat out told him it was happening. He deserved every bit of it.

  4. It really isn't a discussion on epidemiology though. It's a discussion on policy, government reach and ethics. Turns out being an officer in the military does give you a great handle on those worlds because many of us often deal with them day to day.

  5. Most of the "Marxists" knew nothing about Marx, they just wanted to belong to the intellectual class, which has *always* been infatuated with Marx for the same reason Marx wrote what he did. If only people did what I think is best, we'd live in a Utopia. So no, the dear general is likely not a Marxist. He's either what is historically called a "useful idiot," or a habitual yes-man. As a general, the latter is most probable. But when you are espousing and promoting the theories of proud Marxists, you shouldn't be shocked if you get lumped in with them.

  7. So 100% faith in 5000 deaths from vaccines, but no faith in 600K deaths from Covid? From the same agency? What WOULD you accept as valid estimates for Covid fatalities?

  8. People with the means to will just say F the city and move out to red states and more rural areas in general. Which is what we're already seeing happen. That's the one good thing to come out of this pandemic--it showed everyone how shitty the liberal policies that dominate our cities are. The only draws cities ever had in the first place were employment opportunities and amenities like nice bars/restaurants/shopping etc... but the Democrats just proved they'll shut that down if they feel like it. And then all you have left is an expensive, crowded, crime-riddled shithole.

  9. It sure is interesting listening to politicians in DC talk about the increase in violent crime going on across the country. Biden’s tired and confused presser on the issue was really hard to watch. We are going after rogue gun dealers…. I had no idea that the ATF or FBI had never gone after rogue gun dealers before. It certainly isn’t hard to understand or to predict this if you’re willing to be honest about it. When Democrat politicians create a culture of crime via a defund the police movement, demonize law enforcement officers, do away with cash bail, incentivize single parenthood, decline to prosecute criminals, create martyrs/heroes out of life long violent thugs, etc you are going to see a sharp increase in crime. And innocent people will suffer. And our country will continue to fall apart. I can’t imagine pairing the message and behavior of Democrat politicians with policies that would make it harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves. Scary stuff.

  10. Could be both simultaneously, they’re not mutually exclusive What was and is really bad about CRT at the USMA and mil in general is that it is indoctrination being presented falsely or defended as by leadership as education When you walk into a briefing, presentation, class etc and are told you are this because of this with no objective examination of said theory it’s political / cultural indoctrination Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. So much emotion with this from everyone. My family got the vaccine because my wife works with immunocompromised children that can’t get it…. not because we are concerned about ourselves. Every M.D. we know got it the minute they could (even pregnant or nursing)… so we trusted their decisions and followed, because as it turns out, I’m a pilot and not a medical professional.

  13. Most vaccinated people are not afraid of you spreading the virus to them. They’re afraid of you spreading it to the other anti-vaxers and prolonging the negative effects of this virus to our society. Thousands more sick and dying is tragic and detrimental to our way of life. Know the shortest way to not having to wear masks on airplanes anymore? It’s called heard immunity and we could get there in a month if you guys would come around to reason. I keep hearing about individual risk assessment. You should also factor in societal risk assessment when making your decision. It’s about more than just you.

  14. Covid has killed 619K Americans. Assuming the population of the country was 350M, that’s 0.177% of the entire US population. Out of the 34.5M recorded US cases, that’s 1.8% mortality rate (likely lower due to unreported cases). There were 5479 reported deaths (to any cause, not necessarily related to vaccine) following a COVID vaccine out of 318M doses (0.0017%). CDC and FDA are required to look into each report. Of those 5K, so far only 3 are linked to the vaccine (1:100M). The CDC reports your chances of having a severe reaction is about 1:200k, or less. I don’t think anyone is trying to say that these vaccines are absolutely perfect, but compare it to any other vaccine our society has commonly accepted as safe—take typhoid for example—and the efficacy of Covid-19 vaccines are pretty damn good. If we’re going to throw around numbers, let’s at least use actual data.

  15. He's a tool, like all of them, and he makes bullshit arguments like the best politicians in the world. Why isn't Marx or Lenin on the reading list? First inconsistency. Second, if he's comparing the reading of Marx and Lenin to Kendi (for understanding alternate views), is he acknowledging that all three are morally bankrupt? I assure you he would not claim that about Kendi lest his career be put in jeopardy. Third, if you read Marx and Lenin to learn about communism, wouldn't you read Duke or Jared Taylor to learn about white supremacy? Where are those recommendations? Once again liberal voters are being taken for a ride. CRT, just like anti-racism, has existing literature. You can read it. It's crazy at best, *overtly* racist at worst. But the people who wrote the books and the hacks who promote them lie on TV about the very content they created. It's wild. If you haven't read "How to be an Antiracist" or "White Fragility," maybe don't be so quick to defend them.

  16. Mansplain: you see, Gertrude, there are some carriers that are so “ate up” that they cannot tolerate the slightest of what may appear, on the surface, to be an error. They therefore extend, on occasion, a modicum of grace to the hapless applicant in the form of what may be colloquially referred to in the lower lexicon as a fix it. You’re welcome.

  17. Absolutely NO government source would be accepted by me. From nearly the get go, federal/state/local "leaders" have politicized this goatrope to the point where nothing is trustworthy. It's a scary world; I'll make my own decisions for me and mine.

  21. VAERS data is NOT people dying from vaccine reactions. It’s people dying of any cause after getting a vaccine. To my unscientific brain it seems highly likely that a vaccine that was emphasized in an elderly and immune compromised population would have a high probability of some of those people dying of any cause after getting a vaccine. I’m not accusing anyone on here of this, but one thing I have found hilarious is the people who cast doubt on COVID death numbers (a doubt I agree with btw), all of a sudden cite VAERS data like it’s gospel truth, despite it having much of the vagueness as COVID death numbers.

After reading this statement about handing out Article 15s I’m thinking maybe big blue got something right the first time. This kind of “leadership” is the problem, not the solution.

  24. The thing is though, a lot of the “slight left leaners” these days have fallen in line with some absolute bat shit leftist stuff. Look at what figures in politics, sports, media, business, and even some in the military, say and support publicly today that not all that long ago would have been thought insane. I don’t really think it’s a conspiracy theory when it’s right out there in the open for people to see. The million dollar question is why are these people doing this? I tend to agree that many of them are not secret marxists, which to me is even scarier. That means they have at some point recently taken the bait that these ideas aren’t so bad after all. It means that the soft words of equity, inclusion, etc… and the fear of being cancelled is probably working.

  25. If it’s so safe and effective, then why hasn’t the military made it mandatory? Also (again), if it’s so safe and effective, then why hasn’t it been approved by the FDA under normal ops?

  26. Perhaps Anthony Faucci is part of the grand conspiracy that will have us all speaking mandarin within the next five years. Or perhaps he’s just a dude trying to do the best he can with limited and constantly changing information. Your argument sounds like the one my ten year old makes when I promised him a chocolate shake at Red Robin and all they have left is vanilla. Regardless, the vaccine works, it is safe, and it already has been highly effective in allowing us to claim much of our lives back. Just look at the countries with very low vaccination rates for proof. Sydney just went back on a full on draconian lockdown today. Australia’s vaccination rate is ~5%.

  27. Aside from the Red herring of the phrase “anti-vaxer” to slander vaccinated individuals opposed to mass forced vaccination, you’re also ignoring how much we've been lied to. Why should I trust you on herd immunity when we have Fauci’s emails proving he manipulates “herd immunity” and the definition is subjective? ”we could get to herd immunity in a month if you were reasonable.” ”2 weeks of lockdowns to slow the spread.” ”the vaccine originated naturally not in a lab.” ”there are no safe treatments, that is why our only option is using this experimental vaccine” ”the NIH didn’t fund gain of function research in Chinese military labs.” Those statements are used to shout down questions and dissent. Some have now been proven false. Do you not understand why that calls the others into question? “Appeal to authority” is insufficient to convince people when the authorities lie so much.

  28. Not saying the Gen is the greatest American ever. But I find it highly unlikely that someone as thoroughly vetted as he would spend a career in the US military while being some sort of secret Marxist. It seems that the standard trope from the right these days is that anyone who might lean left is a Chinese Communist, Marxist, Socialist, ANTIFA stooge that’s part of Hillary’s grand plot to hand the United States over to the Bill Gates led cabal that runs the world. I write that tongue in cheek, but Jesus the conspiracy theories are out there these days. It must be exhausting for the true believers to keep up!

  29. Others are getting the vaccine. 151 million Americans are fully vaccinated, with another 20 million having had at least one dose. But that still leaves ~180 million unvaccinated people for the virus to jump to. Vaccines aren't 100% effective, but if enough people have 90% immunity, the virus dies out. Wild to me that we are relearning the same fucking lesson we learned with polio and measles, but here we are. As for the mask mandate - if you blatantly lie to my face about following a direct order you've been given, and then think I'm the bad guy for enforcing the order...then I don't want you in my Air Force, period. What else will you lie about? Violating a TO? Breaking FAA regulation? Covering up for illegal activity on the side? If you can't do something as fucking simple and painless as wear a mask in accordance with what the highest leaders in the service have mandated, I can't trust you to do anything that takes more effort or sacrifice.

  31. That's your risk. But you also put others at risk if you pass on the infection. Like saying "my odds of dying in a car accident are less than one percent, so I can do 70 in a 35 and I'll probably be fine". You aren't the only person affected by your actions. Hard to imagine we've gone from a nation that stormed Normandy to one that won't get a shot.

  32. You know how your immune system reacts to a virus, but there's a spool up time? Your body also reacts to vaccines, in a more mild fashion, in a way that reduces the spool up time. Think of it this way. In Afghanistan, someone shoots at guys on the ground, and it takes time to PID, get coords, program a weapon, etc. But it you know where Bin Laden is hiding, with a picture of the guy, already know what's in the building...you can react much more quickly. Vaccines are like an Intel shop for your immune system, priming it to react to threats before they enter the body.

  33. CRT is also EVERYWHERE in the public school system, and has been injected for a long time now. It’s a hot topic because parents are finally realizing what bullshit is being taught to their kids and they’re pissed. Go do a little research into your local school district - very good chance CRT exists on a varying scale. This is not a flavor du jour topic, or at least it shouldn’t be.

  34. They can talk about whatever useless nonsense they want in sociology classes.. perfectly fine by me. That degree already isnt worth the paper it's written on so CRT conversations certainly aren't going to change that. But with CRT itself I don't think we need to wait at all. Despite entering the mainstream very recently it's been around for decades and is basically Marxist class struggles repackaged in terms of race. The gist is that any outcome differential between racial groups along any metric imaginable can be chalked up to a racist system. The part they don't want you to know is that since differentials between groups have and always will exist, "the work" needed to alleviate "systemic racism" will never be complete. And If you disagree with the assertion that all of the systems are racist, that's because you're a beneficiary of those systems which only increases your need for remediation. If the goal is to permanently cast oneself as the victim, it's basically a perfect ideology.

  37. It sounds good but in reality I suspect it is more of the same from the globalist swamp- sell out your working and middle class by committing to one sided trade deals, deterrence for allies capable but unwilling to put skin in the game and sign on to agreements that others ignore or will never actually meet to win virtue points with the Davos crowd. No thanks. America First is not America Alone. It is a lot of things but mainly it is non-privileged, screwed over for the last 40 years Americans standing up for their interests in a world of aggressive competitors, fickle allies and remorseless players where the elites of their own country use their future as bargaining chips as they are cajoled and fellated by the conniving elites of other nations, particularly China, to sell them out to the false god of globalism. Angry rant complete. As to troops in Afghanistan and the authors of the article to include Mattis, it is face saving at it’s worst. Does anyone with an IQ above 75 think that Afghanistan will be anything different in 10 or 20 years with the mission as proposed continuing to whenever? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
