  1. Well, it would appear AAL is bringing me on to hack a line number (no pay date). I had a CJO from back in March of 2020 that got COVID'd. I'm still on AD and I signed the 3 year bonus a year back. So pretty pumped they are doing this...and smart on their part since I was planning on shopping around with SWA and UAL when I eventually got out (again), but not anymore. 2 years of seniority on day 1 is pretty appealing.

  2. Hope this blows up on social media and this OG/CC gets publicly raked across the coals and fired by ACC leadership backed up by the CSAF. No offense to my ABM bros but is this OG/CC an ABM that has zero concept of aviation hazards and fatigue? Unless you’re in combat, an ABM not being able to do their job doesn’t kill lives.

  5. Timeline Update: Hired off the street guard fighter: AUG2020 MEPS 1.0: FEB2021 MEPS 2.0 (consult): MAR2021 Cond. Enlistment: JUN2021 FC1: 06JUL2021 FC1 approval stamp/pucker factor going way down: TBD The people at WP are awesome. Hopefully the Gods of the FC1 stamp that FC1 soon. They told me everything went well but I’m not trying to celebrate at the 5 yrd line. Also as a PSA, if you only suspect that you have had covid (i.e. not on your record) then it would be in ones best interest to not write down that you have had it on the medical forms you fill out prior to the FC1— they have to run 4 EXTRA tests on you if you report that you have previously had covid (PFT, 1hr EKG, 24 hr ecg, 6 min walking test). If you are healthy the addition tests should be a non-issue, but why have them take the deeper dive into your innards if they don’t need to?

  6. Asking if that was sarcasm (or not) was RACIST.

  7. Just wanted to pause for a second and add in before it’s too late that this thread has officially reached an exalted status. Page 69…nice.

  9. One case I’m thinking of happened a few years ago (around the time of the first VSP). A Capt wrote the board two years in a row to get out early. After his 2nd non-selection, his spouse was diagnosed with a serious (expensive) disease. He petitioned the continuation board to stay in as a Capt to 20 for the medical coverage. Had he not written the board, he likely would have promoted. Everyone has their reasons…but sometimes things change and you can’t prepare for how they change. I’m not saying don’t write…just be prepared for everything you can think of in the transition.

  10. Ask him what UPT base he washed out of?

  11. Absolutely, that's why the takeaway I was trying to convey is that I don't see a downside on your behalf to get it done first (and as a matter of fact if that or anything else they let you knock out, do it at the earliest opportunity), but also not to expect that to speed up the whole process to OTS and UPT by any meaningful measures. Also, if you see your doctor regularly, and don't have any medical history, anecdotally you'll make it through just fine.

  13. My guess is that the White Cell put the sorties on the schedule, then left it to the squadrons to fill. In all the exercises I planned in the IG, I never told commanders when to start the deployment line. I told them what time their first "deployed" sortie should be in the air and left them to back out the timeline.

  14. Proof that to many of the Bobs ORM is just another way to spell CYA. Of course the only risk they buy is losing the next promotion.

  15. It’s true I heard it myself. Flight deck dudes and dudettes are a unified front and we’re handling it. He’s an ABM, there’s only ABMs in charge of anything here.

  16. Please tell me this was in an unclass setting and someone had their cell phone recording this?!? But seriously, if true, everyone in the room should have left the building and immediately filed an IG complaint. Wait, this dude is an ABM? Oh man...lol, someone should have asked if he had come to that viewpoint from is vast experience as a pilot?

  17. PIRR is the points programs=Cat E=CAPRAP & ALO. What you’ll need is SELRES=Cat A&B. Cat A=DSG and TR. Cat B=IMA. I can suggest a Cat B (IMA) for reduced duty time compared to Cat A (TR or DSG). One such Cat B duty is SSS or selective service system liaison. If that isn’t available in your area, you could commute to any number of IMA jobs.

  18. Where's the Major or MSgt with a pair to call this douchebags bluff? I'd make sure to fill out the next ORM sheet exactly as written for my next few flights.

  23. All we did was create a nation of dependents. I listened on the radio today as Afghanis claimed they have been abandoned. The Taliban want it more, so they will win. This should have happened 15 years ago. We had a reasonable expectation that the Afghans would taste freedom and sustain it with our aid. They let us down, not the other way around. 24. No one has posted on here in a while but I had a physical a couple years back when I was at school and the EKG came back as having an abnormality and as a result I got sent in for an Echocardiagram (however you spell it) and after I went through that they said I had minor triguspid regurgitation or something like that. Basically an irregular heartbeat however the doctor who interpreted it (a former navy flight surgeon) said I was perfectly healthy and it was benign. I have the letter from the doc saying it was benign (a 5 year old letter), will that pose any problem for me when I go for this physical (if selected to)?
