  1. Or people are just tired of being jerked around by the government and clowns such as Faucci! “Trust the experts you anti vaccer extremists!!” What happens when “the experts” get lobbied heavily by the known corrupt pharmaceutical industry. Maybe if the average citizen trusted this inept government more we would have more cohesion with regards to Covid. I am fully vaccinated and wear a mask when I’m told but I’m getting tired of this BS overreach like most Americans.

  3. Criminally underreport? How do you know that? Illegally funding gain of function with tax money in a foreign country to hide from congress then lying to congress is an example of real criminally under reporting. We just received an email that the COVID tests we’ve been using for high schoolers (in Florida) are recalled due to inordinately high false positives. Is anyone going back in time to subtract all those false positives? No. This whole thing is bullshit. In a real pandemic you don’t spend all this time and effort trying to convince people a pandemic is happening. It’s apparent.

  5. The dude said a slur that’s directed at Asian people, Chinese or otherwise. Period. I’m Asian. Its fu*king racist. Calling someone that isn’t your run of the mill shit talk. If someone said that slur to me while sitting at the Sq bar, I’d punch them in the mouth.

  6. Fine, he's not a racist by your definition, but a bigoted ass. Just as bad on my book. The "not technically a racist" argument is garbage and misses the point that you shouldn't tolerate denegrating people solely for what they look like. Diversity training is being forced on us because there's a perception that we couldn't provide protections for federally protected categories, including race, ethnicity, sex, national origin, etc, on our own in the military, so now it gets Congressional attention. Plus, if a person is trying to denegrate you got how you look, they don't really care if they used the "right" slur, the intent is to denegrate you and make you feel like crap. But you're right, nothing protects us from being offended or made to feel uncomfortable. Until it's been brought into work, in which case there are legal protections, especially in government service. "But BO.net is basically bar banter.". Yeah, but those opinions don't magically change in the office. Maybe better hidden, but still there, and can be hard to prove that people get screwed over. As officers and leaders within the military, we need to ensure this crap isn't tolerated in our ranks so we can ensure we present the best fighting force we can, and not allowing personal prejudices on protected categories influence the meritocracy we strive for in the military. We shouldn't tolerate people who degenerating others based on their race/ethnicity/national origin/sex/etc within our ranks, both on or off duty. Edit-Spelling/autocorrect

  8. Source? Ya know, when you hear shocking numbers like that, most of the time it’s worth doing a little research. I don’t believe that stat for a second. All of the information & data I’ve seen suggests that you are many times less likely to get COVID after being vaccinated. I’d love to see the “source” that’s peddling the bullshit that you insist on spreading here. Oh I know, I know: the media & big pharma’s in bed with the FDA & uncle Joe & the Gates/Clinton/Epstein cabal so who can you really trust other than what what you hear on bitchute and 4chan, right?

  10. Whose name did you check on the box? Don't excuse yourself from your decision. Energy independence is a bad thing? The media dismantled our credibility with its incessant "Trump-this" and "Trump-that." The constant falsehoods were laughable. Thoughts on the $3.5T spending plan which is actually going to cost closer to $5-5.5T? Oh wait, disregard, President Biden says it won't cost anything. My mistake. What do you mean is it worse now? I am being threatened with a dishonorable or other than honorable discharge from the Reserves after 15 sat years, 3 deployments, one to combat where I employed multiple times. I have multiple decorations but because I am hesitant to receive a vaccine that has been known to cause increased and more severe seizure activity in those diagnosed with epilepsy, like myself, I am going to get discharged adversely? That's interesting because it doesn't seem like it. MANDATED VACCINATIONS are being required or you will lose your job and ability to provide for you family - I also stand to lose my job as an fighter pilot instructor as a civilian if I don't get the vaccine. But sure, if that's how you feel... Feelings are what matter most, after all - Right? The path forward is recognizing that people who didn't take care of this caused this "pandemic." Now all the healthy people who make proper choices are being asked to subsidize their poor decisions. I'm sensing a theme with the party you voted for here... What happens when the trillionaires President Biden wanted to tax heavily, yes he said "trillionaires," and not billionaires like he, I assume he meant, become millionaires? What then defines millionaires? Is it net worth? Then when that old couple across the street who bought a house in San Diego in the '90s for $350k which is worth $7.5m in 2028 and have retired long ago on social security... Are they included too? Lines are easy to move once they're drawn... Is that right? From the side of the aisle that supports "science" but says a man can be a woman and vice versa or a million other things, simply based upon how that person feels? What if I And what you are referring to was blown massively out of proportion by the MSM. Or perhaps I'm a racist too because I don't believe in critical race theory even after having read the garbage put of by DiAngelo, White Fragility. We'll disagree on that, at least the part regarding our allegiances. We've hung ourselves with making what has always been good, now bad and vice versa and probably won't be able to come out of that unless we have a great Presidential prospect come 2024. But I agree, the left has accomplished their mission and has ended American Exceptionalism. Yeah, making everything that has made America great and making it wrong has worked really well - That makes for a brighter future. What 10-20 year plan? That statement sums it up perfectly - Lack of personal accountability. Thank you for that. What you don't seem to understand, or simply don't care about, is that the water in the pot is heating up...

  11. I think I read in another thread you are going through MC-J transition training; when you get to your unit, look into getting the Lockheed test pilots to come out to your Sq and give a presentation and Q&A. I’ve been to two or three of their roadshows and they were well worth the time. They did some TOLD presentations, cleared up some myths about the J and answered a ton of questions for us. I don’t have a POC, but I’d bet OGV does.

  12. Just read the Israeli study, convincing enough to me that natural immunity should be treated similarly to vaccination if you have the antibodies. If the antibodies were permanent (which they are not) I would support an exemption for mandatory vaccination in the military if you have natural immunity. Though as this transitions to an endemic there will likely be an annual vax requirement similar to the flu.

  14. me: “Take your medicine so mine works lol” response: “it’s not so simple, your choice is unvaccinated persons are the ones spreading the disease, you can infect me. ” me: “ I already had the disease so I am protected. Aren’t all vaccines based off of natural immunity? Can’t vaccinated people spread Cv19 as well? ” response: “but in Kentucky they did a study, look here: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s0806-vaccination-protection.html” me: “there were no patient outcomes in the study, also there was no tracking of total PCR tests given to the two patient populations. Aren’t those important numbers to know? Also they are revoking the PCR test in December. https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/2021/07-21-2021-lab-alert-Changes_CDC_RT-PCR_SARS-CoV-2_Testing_1.html why? Also significant data from Israel suggests that natural immunity is better than uninfected vaccinated persons. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.08.24.21262415v1.full.pdf” response: “ but there was an increase in immunity after 1 dose of the Pfizer vaccine in the Israel study.” me: “ yes there was but the mandate is for two shot of Pfizer. Where is the data showing that two doses of Pfizer grants increased immunity?” response: “ … but the hospitals will be overrun. The only risk factor that matters right now is vaccination status. We should even consider not treating the unvaccinated. Just take the vaccine man. Plus they did a study with a 72 people and 1/3 of those previously infected did not meet the threshold they established to indicated immunity https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/27/9/21-1042_article” me: “ 72 people is 72 people…. Not the biggest study eh? Aren’t other risk factors like physical fitness, diet, sun exposure, life style etc? shouldn't there be a burden of proof that the vaccine benefits the previously infected before we mandate it for those people? What about VAERS data? https://openvaers.com/ Isn’t there is risk associated with every medical intervention”. response: “ trust the science man. All VAERS data is unverified. “ me: “ what? 6k Americans have reportedly died soon after the vaccine. Isn’t that worth investigating? Is there a report that outlines the FDAs findings to these cases? response: “Anyone can fill those reports out, it could be Alex Jones and big, umm, big, ah, Quanon people that are filling those out. Im sure you believe in that stuff.” me: “ no I don’t believe in that stuff. Just trying to get to the bottom of natural immunity and vaccine safety. Aren’t those important aspects of CV19? What about personal autonomy and liberty? ” Response: “ trust the science. Vaccines are seatbelts but they inject the seatbelt into your body and you can’t remove the seatbelt. Also, This isn’t about personal liberty.” me: “ the rest of my posts will add nothing to the conversation so I will be communicating in memes only…

  18. The BUFF isn’t ever thrust limited; it doesn’t need more. It’s stopping limited (old steel brakes suck), directional control limited, and mx/fuel limited. Same thrust engines let you minimize change to controllability and structural problems, not exacerbate directional control problems, and keep the engines on the wing longer while increasing un-refueled range. Edit: “isn’t ever thrust limited” = incredibly rarely, of course

  19. I think a lot of people fail to look at the idea of a reduction in maintenance tasks and how much that multiplies when you are talking about a plane with 8 god damned motors to do oil checks and service inspections on much less fix. That translates to either maintaining troop counts to do other tasks, or reducing the Manning requirement without negatively impacting OR rates. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  21. What I’ve read says same thrust class, better fuel efficiency and less maintenance intensive. I think they wanted to keep it to the same thrust to not have to completely redo the TOLD, as well as not having to do too much work to strengthen the engine pylons.

  22. This attitude drives why we have to waste time with diversity training, and why there's a push to do more diversity training across the force. Either way, it's unacceptable behavior, especially for what I'd assume it's from an officer in our military. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/racism "4. racial or ethnic prejudice or intolerance." Oxford dictionary "Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized." I'll grant you that some dictionaries (Merriam Webster) only refer to race and not ethnicity in their definition. Though the meaning of words do shift, and some dictionaries are slow to capture how words are now being used. Or we could call him a bigot if you refuse to believe the meaning of words change over time. Then again, a lot of anti-Chinese sentiment does get placed on Asians in general. And having been on the receiving end of those kind of slurs, including the one being debated, I can assure that it often is used as a racial slur and not just as an ethnic slur.

  24. Let’s not move the goal posts. No one is arguing that using that word is ok. Or that it’s not a slur. Just that it’s not a racist slur as China isn’t a race. These are just facts that have no emotions and don’t care about peoples feelings. Show me where anyone is advocating for use of the word he used please? But it can be shown where people called it racist and by definition it is not. Is it dumb? A put down? Awful? And poor usage of the English language? Likely all yes. But it isn’t racist.

  26. Let me ask the mods directly: Why have my posts taking issue with another member’s use of a racial slur been removed? I see the post with the slur is still up. Please don’t tell me you are ok with a post using the word “ch**k” but not with posts questioning whether we want that here. I have enjoyed the banter here for many years. It gets spicy at times & is definitely not constrained by political correctness. That said, I believe racial slurs cross a line & that said line exists on this forum. I’d really like to continue to believe that is true.

  27. Noted. They've got a lawful order. They can follow it, or they can get out. Those are the choices. And it's not about my promotion...it's about caring for the people I've been entrusted with, cadets who are smarter, more motivated, in better shape, and more creative than I ever was. Watching those people get punted before their career even starts, while watching a bunch of grown ass men weep about a vaccine that both my elderly step dad and my teenager took without bitching...well, that's what makes me upset. Hope your guys get the counseling they need to get through this.

  28. I don’t have enough words to describe the amount of disgust I feel for you if you look at your fellow squadron members who are making the hardest decision of their life as a promotion opportunity for yourself. Your brain is broken for even thinking that way. As a senior leader, I have had grown men come to my office and completely break down. It’s heartbreaking to watch some of the most competent and loved informal leaders describe their position on these mandates. They have legitimate concerns based on personal factors.

  29. I can remember a time when I held a very firm belief that our government wouldn’t actually make a run on our right to own guns. This was largely due to the fact that I didn’t think there were enough members of our military or police force that would salute smartly and do the work necessary to remove guns from law abiding citizens. I’m clearly wrong. Hell, I’m convinced that there are folks on these very threads that would gladly get behind gun confiscation efforts.

  32. It’s both. You get C-17’s and whatever else stacked up waiting to land and a bunch of dudes showing up with a “Kabul traffic, Reach 69…” it’s going to be a massive disaster. Any of you MLAT types pitch in. I’m all for CTAF and uncontrolled ops (I was a CFII before I joined and flew that type of flying 90%). My community still does it quite a bit and it’s funny how quickly it can fall apart with a few airplanes and nobody talking charge.

  34. Does no one else think it's insane this gene therapy is being pushed so hard? Feels creepy. It's never been done before (mRNA vaccine) but researched for at least a decade. But now it's good? 34 deaths out of 222k cases is what I'm tracking for the military (5). If I do the very rough math as an 11F, getting COVID is about the same mortality risk as flying 100 fighter hours. (1 is public, but your safety office has the same data if you're interested for your MWS) No one has any idea what the risk is of the mRNA gene therapy. I mean if I drink alcohol or smoke cigars I know there is a risk with that and alcohol and tobacco have been around along enough that people have been able to figure that out. Same with riding a motorcycle or flying jets. Those stats exist. I remember when I was in high school the human genome was finally sequenced and academics thought it was going to be a boon for medicine. And here we are 20 years or so later and we really don't know how it works. BUT we can manipulate it a little and get a first order effect. Progress. In the 20th century radium powered glow in the dark watches and then factory workers died of cancer. I'm not saying that this is that. But I am saying that no one knows that it isn't that. Like if it takes a year off your life should you take it? Five years? Ten? What's the metric? If my odds of dying of COVID are 1:1000 and I think I'll live to 80 I should take it if (statistically) I think it's going to take leas than a month off my life. That's like zero biological long term impact. I hope that's the case btw for everyone who's gotten it. As far as the transmission aspect. A study in the Lancet (2) set the reduction in risk from getting COVID from .8% with the Pfizer shots (worst) to 1.3% Astra Zenica (best). This doesn't address the mortality, just the transmission. But those numbers are terrible. My main issue is that there is no long term data set on mRNA gene therapy. There will be in 10 or 20 years but there isn't now. And this isn't something I am willing to bet my personal health on. And this is for a disease that has a 99.9X survival rate for me? Something that studies have shown that if you've had it, the vaccine provides no statistically relevant benefit (Pfizer study - still tracking down link but reference 3 for now, same conclusion). A disease that natural immunity provides longer and 6-7x more immunity than the vaccine (Israel study - 3) The drug companies are making BILLIONS and good for them, but the for sure have their lobbyists and what is in Pfizer's best interest is not NECESSARILY in my best interest. If this is so safe, why are they IMMUNE from liability under federal law? Now that it's "FDA approved" do you really think that will change? (6) I like to read a lot and from what I've read about risk (Nassim Taleb anyone? "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence") getting these shots seems to be a lot like investing in something with a very small probable very large return (not dying from COVID) but can absolutely blow up (you dying much younger). Why are medical doctors and PHDs being silenced on social media? Is it for public health? Would we want to hear all professional opinions of people who spend their whole lives studying these subjects? It's been a frustrating year for the whole world and thankfully I live in America and not Australia where COVID has transformed them into a totalitarian society. 35. Here is what gets me. The Trump supporters were so proud and quick to tout him for operation Warp Speed...he actually got the vaccine done in record time. Now that Biden is in power and asking people to get vaccinated the same Trump supporters think the vaccine is the equivalent to getting a chip implanted in their brain. Even though there is case law that supports mandatory vaccines for all (Jacobson v. Massachusetts), I am all about free will and choice. There is a difference for the military...Ironically taking that oath to serve and protect the Constitution gave up all sorts of Constitutional rights. If the vaccine is legally approved there is little resistance ground to stand on. I think there most certainly should be further discussion and research on those who have already had COVID. Having had a nasty fight with COVID....vaccinated or non-vaccinated, I hope you don't get it.
