  1. What is most concerning about Biden’s (or rather whoever is pulling his puppet strings) vaccine mandate for civilians is the precedent it sets. Vaccine mandate -> “health and safety”. What happens when the climate nazis gain enough influence to lobby, say, forced sterilizations or abortions to “limit population overgrowth and enforce general health and safety.”? Are Orwellian and Dystopian policies really that far out of the realm of possibility with the current path we are on? This should concern you even if you vote Blue.

  2. Stop spreading vaccine hesitancy. Big pharma are the good guys! Praise be to Fauci. All hail Tony. All hail the infallible CDC and FDA. EVERY knee shall bow. Haven’t you heard the good news— the experts have settled the science. Yay! I wonder where this burning train of naïve “scientific” assumptions crashes?

  4. Actually the risk is exactly the same, 76 million vs 77 million. You forgot to multiply 450 time .17 to account for the fact that you have less than a 1/5 chance of actually getting COVID over a 3 year period.

  5. Chances of contracting covid≠ 100%. chances of being vaccinated if you are vaccinated = 100%. Doesn’t seem like you are talking apples to apples. Not trying to do a gotcha or defending the article. It’s kind of like when people say 80% of patients who died in X hospital were vaccinated/unvaccinated without at minimum providing the population vaccination rate which that hospital serves. It doesn’t really mean anything.

  6. From further into article: "None of the studies cast doubt on the vaccines’ effectiveness or the benefits they bring by safeguarding against Covid-19 and studies suggest the risks of heart inflammation are substantially higher in those infected with Covid-19." from the linked study: Myocarditis rate among young men who contracted covid: 450 per million Myocarditis rate among young men after vaccination: 77 per million In summary, the risk of myocarditis from the virus is 5.9 times higher than the risk from the vaccine. And if you want to minimize risk even further, just get Pfizer instead of moderna. Weird, It's almost like when you dig into the details the clickbait headline doesn't tell the whole story.

  8. So now we're mad that senior leaders went through a process to determine cause or not? I'm happy to hear that it sounds like he got a fair hearing/process. Yeah I know he appeared to blame crews for inappropriate scheduling, but I'd rather see a slight delay than a knee jerk immediate firing without seeing the whole picture. And before anyone gives me grief, know that usually a quick no-thought reaction produces the best long term results.💩

  9. I've cancelled a few times when wx was technically legal to fly, both as the Flight Lead and the OPS SUP said go, and as the OPS SUP when the Flight leads were willing to go. There have been plenty of times where it's much more prudent to not fly that day. Realize you may have to do some explaining, but I've never once been threatened with loss of quals. Even if I had, it wouldn't have changed my mind, especially for a daily CT line....lol make me a wingman only (twoop!). If you said you'd have to "report it to the DO," I'd say sure thing, let's walk down there right now....hell, get the SQ/CC and OG if you want, I don't really care. Once you've been a FL/AC/OPS SUP for a while, you start to learn what really matters and what doesn't. I'm all for going out and getting some good experience/lessons learned, but there are plenty of times where, even if the weather is technically legal, the gain does not outweigh the loss/potential risk. It gets even easier when you have the option to cancel and go fly that mission in a sim.

  10. Yes you can. The White House kept touting the most successful airline since the berlin airlift. see? Out of failure great success.

  11. So you are upset about calls to murder the VP and Speaker. How exactly did you feel when celebrities were calling for Trumps death? Or was that not a concern? What about all the lunatics that stormed police precincts and government buildings across the US before that and the left said they were just “exercising their freedom of speech? Once again not a big deal? The largest issue with the country is we don’t hold the same standard across the board. The “it’s ok because it supports my cause or makes someone else look bad” is tearing us apart. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Play by the rules of the USERRA law and tell Delta Airlines to kiss your ass. https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/VETS/legacy/files/USERRA_Private.pdf In other news... I'll have 28+ years at United when I retire, and I will not be able to hold a widebody leftseat based on current projections. When I was hired, we had 5 year Captains on narrowbody. But after bankruptcies, mergers, 9/11, 2008 economy down-turn, china-virus, and a plethora of other events... I've learned that the question of "when can I upgrade..." is an unanswerable question. Who knows? The variables are entirely unpredictable. A bud of mine was in the first UAL class after things shut down for a year (May 2021). Pilots hired a year later will be 2000 numbers junior to him. To put that in perspective, those pilots currently 2000 numbers junior to me were hired 15 years after I was. And I'm not even going to discuss the ramifications of those who were Continental pilots during the merger. If you do not understand the significance of my statistic, then you need to talk to someone who does. The whole "where will I be?" is a stupid question. If you want to dress up and play airline pilot, then get ready for a fucked up career.
