  1. That's been the vulnerability of the progressive/socialist/Marxist movement for decades. The philosophy of "do what we say and we'll reach utopia together" always crashes into the inescapable conflict of the people they (the elite) are trying to save (the proletariat) not wanting to follow the orders meant to save them. Then comes the blood shed.

  2. https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/partner_surveys/jan_2022/covid_19_democratic_voters_support_harsh_measures_against_unvaccinated It is unreal how many Americans have lost all concept of the constitution, basic American/human rights, and are hell bent on dehumanizing fellow Americans who don’t have the same viewpoint as them. They make excuses for themselves to justify their abhorrent behavior. How about accept this is a free country and you will disagree with others, but you should be able to do so while treating them as a neighbor and not as a piece of valueless trash. Here are some highlights for those who don’t want to read the whole thing: - Zero fucks given for 1st Amendment: “Nearly half (48%) of Democratic voters think federal and state governments should be able to fine or imprison individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications.” - Take freedom from others, but not from me (because I’m…insert excuse to justify horrible actions): “Forty-five percent (45%) of Democrats would favor governments requiring citizens to temporarily live in designated facilities or locations if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine.” - Taking your kids away because I don’t agree with you: “Twenty-nine percent (29%) of Democratic voters would support temporarily removing parents’ custody of their children if parents refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine.”

  3. For having 7 paragraphs, that letter didn't have much information. Though I'm sure they meant to say that 11R's were on track for a retro-bonus to make up for being forgotten in 2021. Edit: $35,000 is equivalent to $26,000 in 2007. And the take-home after taxes won't buy you a used car. Is that the best the "Aircrew Task Force" can do? The bonus was $25,000 in 1992 when I took it. That $25k is worth about $49,700 today.

  4. I wish that survey had broken out responses by gender. Unpopular opinion, but when I see any online discussion of Covid where the respondent's gender is identified, it's always the females who are the most adamant about damning the unvaxxed to the pits of hell. Reasoned or nuanced discussion be damned.

  5. My understanding is that if you are selected but decline promotion you stay in. The only way you get the NLT 7 month out option is if you fail to select twice.

  6. SAF/PC has the final Total force say. It doesn’t matter if you have disapproved from everyone. They seem to meet every 6-8 weeks but that is WOM.

  8. Spoke with my airline mentor today and described it, he said multiple dudes have done what I am asking to do without issue but to make sure no orders extension, orders end before training is over, leave covers the entire period and have the orders marked as Terminal as I will be ending my tour from FTNGD on these T32 orders. My risk mitigation is to have the OG sign the leave request (he's ok with my plan), state in the Remarks section pre-retirement employment training and document coordination & approval in an email if things get weird. If shit gets crazy, I'll let go of my double secret probation double dip legally plan and cash the leave out at retirement date, it's just so far all my direct POCs have not shut the door on this. My orders run out in 3 months with no more requested or expected.

  9. “…top scientists and doctors…” Just like those who in June 2020 told people to stay home when able, avoid large gatherings, etc to stop the spread of covid…unless it’s for a BLM protest, then it’s ok. Please excuse my skepticism that obviously clearly isn’t warranted. I’m sure there will be crickets from those on the left. "Staying at home, social distancing, and public masking are effective at minimizing the spread of COVID-19. To the extent possible, we support the application of these public health best practices during demonstrations that call attention to the pervasive lethal force of white supremacy," the letter says. "However, as public health advocates, we do not condemn these gatherings as risky for COVID-19 transmission. We support them as vital to the national public health and to the threatened health specifically of Black people in the United States. We can show that support by facilitating safest protesting practices without detracting from demonstrators' ability to gather and demand change. This should not be confused with a permissive stance on all gatherings, particularly protests against stay-home orders." Yep…no agenda outside of medicine and science. Over 1,000 health professionals sign a letter saying, Don't shut down protests using coronavirus concerns as an excuse https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/05/health/health-care-open-letter-protests-coronavirus-trnd/index.html

  10. A bachelor’s degree isn’t required for the technical operation of a jet on the day of execution. Back when I was a crew aircraft guy, I was pretty sure a reasonably competent flight engineer could’ve chair flown the whole operation in his mind, so all that’s left is to teach him how to land and do AR. For more complex tactical jets, well many NATO nations seem to get by with 20 year old non-bachelors pilots, though their education system is different. Things begin to fall apart when you move farther left of execution and things get less “technical operator” and more “leadership and coordination.” Plenty of enlisted folks help with mission planning and design, but they’re not leading MPCs and deciding how we’re employing billions of dollars worth of jets in peacetime or how we’ll win or lose in wartime. Nor - when you look even farther left in the timeline - are they responsible for the organizing/training/equipping part where we decide how the next war will be fought and what capabilities we need to buy, test, and develop. Officers do that, and those officers must have tactical and technical street cred from the beginning to end of their careers. Should every CSAF know how to tactically kill people and also know what it’s like to almost be killed by you own jet? Absolutely. Absofuckinglutely. BL: Are there enlisted dudes that are capable of being trained to fly the hell out of the jet? Yes! But the mistake is keeping them enlisted (or making them warrants) rather than doing the right thing and paying them more by commissioning them. As for the college part - yes, it expands your thinking well beyond being a technical operator, which is the critical requirement for the left of execution stuff above.
