Were you at Columbus in 2009? If not, they got the same guy to do a bunch of road shows. I also heard a joke that some ground forces referred themselves to the 319th of the ground.3 points

Frontier and Spirit pilots are both represented by ALPA... so the seniority integration should go silky smooth.3 points

It is crazy how one idiot can ruin it for everyone. Sadly, his comment is still used to the detriment of the community today. The U-28 and the community changed the fight in many regards. Fing heroes and extreme professionals in my book...still carrying the mail to this day, but one idiot made a comment that left a stain. Awesome to see those in the community grow up and take big leadership positions. There are a few on here whop have done great things for the community. We need more of that less Pavelow/Talon II Mafia.3 points

The Illuminati doesn’t believe in teaching people to use video editing software… They contract out to the Lizard people for that stuff. Deep State! Seriously, now anybody that was telling people “I heard from a friend” needs to be publicly pilloried. The last thing the internet needs is more “truthful” bullshit. Haha I actually was at Columbus in 2009. And also not trying to shit on the U-28, definitely have a good impression of most those bros. Just that one line made the whole program out like a joke at that time.1 point

Why do you think? At one point there were five large military bases (two of which, Kelly and Brooks AFBs, have since closed) and two large military reservations (Camp Bullis and Camp Stanley) in the San Antonio area, and given the great weather, quality of life, low cost of living and a myriad of things to do close by it's not tough to figure out why it's become a mecca for not only retirees but also transplants from all over the country.1 point

Having said all that, I hope AFSOC does a 10000x better job selling this airplane to young assignables than they did with the U-28. This gave me a chuckle. Spring 2006 I still remember the day walking out to the flight line with the 9 other NFO's (an the initial cadre of USAF stick monkey types) seeing 419 taxi in for the first time at Hurby. "So....this is a U-what?" ATIS1 point

Well that’s just not true: Once reporters published a report on CURVEBALL the Bush administration released intelligence validating his role. True, many aspects of this remain classified to protect aspects of the intelligence apparatus, which makes sense. But it turns out you can release enough information about “sources and methods” to allow critical thought on the conclusions. For those who don’t know, intel from CURVEBALL was key in domestic legitimacy of the Iraq war and it was all made up by a guy who wanted us to start the Iraq war. Of note, German intel said exactly that and we all told them to shut up. Consider what a total disaster the Iraq war was for our nation. Think about how much it hurt international credibility, think about how Afghanistan could have been different had we focused there instead of had our bandwidth absorbed by Iraq, consider the rise of Isis, all the people killed there since 03. The magnitude of the terrible strategic decision to invade Iraq in 2003 using false assumptions about their WMD threat is almost incalculable. It was an intel fuck up of colossal proportions. And it could have been avoided had we exposed our sources and methods earlier…. because we ended up exposing them anyway. You are a smart dude but if you start with a false assumption you’ll arrive at a wrong conclusion. You assume the government never exposes sources and methods then follow that logic train to a place where society must remain ignorant of facts & trust experts running this process who are insulated from the consequences of their actions. False. That isn’t true and it doesn’t work. Fun and relevant Thomas Sowell quote: It’s hard to imagine a more stupid or dangerous way to make decisions than leaving them to people who suffer no consequence for the results. Stop trusting people who aren’t accountable. The experts have lied and been wrong in the recent past. Before we order my kids to war (which is possible despite your protestations) I want some public QC on the intel.1 point

F*cking hypocrites. It is a shame that such an amazing place to live (CA) has been turned into this terrible state due to leftist policies that idiots guided (I'm assuming) solely by their emotions, enact. Thank God the CA universal healthcare didn't make it through... ... Until next year.1 point

Some people will take awhile to realize that the vast majority of your .gov doesn't give a shit about you. They only care about two things. Votes, money, more money and more votes. They will say and do anything to get them. This country was never designed to have a ruling class but that's what we have now.1 point

Pretty sure that's what the approximately 10,000 uniformed personnel who have been/are facing discharge would say to you and your gloating over their fate for their refusing to take the non-vaccine vaccine.1 point

That’s quite the conundrum you present. You either blindly trust that Big Pharma has 100% public interest as their motive, or divorce yourself completely from their products. I don’t know if you’ve read or watched, but the Hulu series Dopesick (and book of same name), illustrated how corrupt the FDA and Pharma can be. But that fact that within one year, the “vaccine” has made them record breaking profits, and the messaging now is three shots + booster. I’m not the smartest man in the world, but something doesn’t pass the smell test. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app1 point

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/02/03/rnc-cheney-trump/ The Republican National Committee voted overwhelmingly to censure Reps Kinzinger and Cheney. Despite his vociferous words that he speaks "truth to power," he doesn't get to run roughshod over his political party and the institutions of the House. Speaker Pelosi set up the Jan 6 committee. She asked the Republicans to name the members who would be joining said committee. The Minority Leader, McCarthy, named the members he wanted on the committee. Pelosi rejected them. That is not her call on who the opposition puts on bipartisan committees. The Republicans then said no Republicans would be on the committee in that case. So she specifically invited Kinzinger and Cheney to be on the committee, despite the Republican leadership and party A) naming the desired members to said committee and B) boycotting the committee when named members were refused a seat. Hate Trump all you want, but don't expect kudos from your party (and funding) when you give them a middle finger. Kinzinger got gerrymandered out his seat. I still expect a talking skull gig for him - any time you need a "Republican" to say how bad they are, he's on the speed dial. Cheney is likely to lose her primary and this censure clears the way for the RNC to put funds towards her primary challengers. She'll resume being a Beltway Bandit as she's been her entire adult life.0 points
