  3. You bring up a good point. But the mask restrictions don’t work, and there is only one political group who follows them mindlessly and demeans those who think critically about the many absurd contradictions in enforcement: progressive liberals.

  5. I don't post here much (if at all mostly reading), but my family and I were there Friday night to see his night show and also stayed for Saturday's show. So tragic and honestly unbelievable witnessing something like that. Words cannot explain what we and the entire crowd witnessed and more importantly his family. Our prayers for the family have been spoken each night as this is such a hard time. It was nice to see the Battle Creek Field of Flight took donations for the family during the rest of the events over the weekend and last I saw they took in over $3,000. Sunday's air show started with the missing man formation with Rob Holland, Bill Stein, Nathan Hammond, and Ken Rieder. It was also ended with the missing man formation by the USAF Thunderbirds. The crowd was silent and it was very emotional, both times. May Chris Darnell rest in peace.

  6. That "independent contractor" may have gone through previous years of upheaval, pay cuts, mergers, and a BK. Those hired in the last 14 years have only experienced pay raises and bonus checks unheard of in the past.

  8. The continuing impact of uber liberalism is dystopian. I thought the actions of Los Angeles County DA George Gascon was insanity, but New York clearly said hold my beer. A career criminal comes into a store with his girlfriend and tries to buy some chips but his card has no money. Angered he goes behind the counter and starts to beat up the owner saying he wants the chips for free. The owner fights back and stabs the thief who ultimately dies. George Soros funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charges the owner with murder and sets a $250,000 bail. The thief's girlfriend stabs the owner five times and she is not charged with anything. WTF is happening to this country?

  11. i don't disagree with your premise that the two party system is bad for this country. what's worse is our 4th branch of government: un-elected, unaccountable, bureaucrats. trump was right about the deep state. it very much exists on both sides of the spectrum. second worst are career politicians. privacy: patriot act was horrible. bush neocons fucked up a lot of the world and domestic liberties. the spying done on the trump campaign and the obama administration using the IRS to hit back against conservative voices was just as bad. both sides naughty. reproductive rights? i'm willing to compromise. make it like france. first 15 weeks of a pregnancy are free. after that no abortions. the left says until the baby is out of the vagina you can kill it. that's wrong. but again i think there's room for compromise. justice thomas coming after birth control is just ridiculous and a bridge too far separation of church and state was designed to keep the government out of the church. not vice versa. it's not a debate. that's fact. reference any number of the founders writings. you can see how our society is suffering when you remove God or any sort of moral bedrock principles. it'll only get worse. but back to the core issue. the only side shutting down businesses, mandating shots and boosters in your body, telling you to mask up...is the left.

  12. Let me give you a personal example just to clarify a bit further: I live in Washington state. Our governor is Jay Inslee. You may remember him as the one trick pony who ran for president one one platform and one platform only; climate change. I don’t much care for the man and I think many of his gubernatorial policies fall flat. We had a gubernatorial election in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. The “top two” candidates after our unique form of primary predictably included Inslee, the incumbent, and a Republican challenger, Loren Culp. There was no shortage of candidates willing to throw their hats into the ring, but due to the power of the parties, there was no one capable of challenging the Parties’ choices. While I didn’t particularly like Inslee, Culp was even further off his own party’s deep end (IMO) and I held my nose and voted D. Had there been a viable Democrat candidate right of Inslee or Republican candidate left of Culp, I likely would’ve voted for them. (Admittedly) Circumstantial evidence suggests I wasn’t alone in this line of thinking. So yes, I voted for a politician whose policies I didn’t agree with because the alternative was even less acceptable to me. Most of us here have likely had similar experiences regardless of political leanings or affiliations. I think that probably describes the thinking of most of our country. And yet, rather than brainstorm ideas of how to fix this problem and get back to good governance, we seem to prefer (have been conditioned?) to point fingers at one another and blame our friends, families, and neighbors for our nation’s ills. This is not healthy, and plays right into both parties’ hands and rests even more power with them while further distancing the American people from the power that should ultimately reside in their own hands.

  13. I like this post—and I agree with you on the two major parties. Where we often differ is on the actual issues themselves. One more point about the parties: They have both gone further left/right, respectively compared to years past, but if you compare the Dems of the 80s and 90s to today vs the GOP of the 80s and 90s to today, I think it’s safe to say one has definitely moved further than the other. Elon Musk pointed out the same issue not too long ago, and though the meme isn’t entirely accurate, it does make the point.

  14. Not my party brotha. Nor are the Rs or the Ls or anyone else. I tend to fall left on more issues. Doesn’t mean I vote party line or subscribe to the drivel that both major parties use to attract and manipulate voters. I’m willing to bet that most of us here have made a majority of our recent voting decisions based on what we perceive to be the “least bad” choice. We should start directing more ire at the two party system we’ve been saddled with and less at one another.

  15. Where were the most oppressive restrictions? Who runs those states and cities? Are your far left friends anxious to get rid of folks like Newsom? They may say that they don't like the restrictions, but their actions say otherwise.

  16. Agree 100%, and of the options in the running I like AT-802 best (Scorpion should have been in the running but wasn’t). However there is a segment of our leadership class that believes no risk is ever worth it. This is the same leadership that recently lost a war, and cannot put 2 and 2 together. Caveat: I’m 0% involved in the decision; just offering an informed opinion.

  17. Not knowledgeable enough to have an opinion on which LA platform we choose, but for the love of god let’s not throw out a potential option just because it has a tailwheel. Once upon a time, EVERYONE learned to fly in conventional gear airplanes. This can be taught, effectively, even to knuckle dragging fighter pilots. It’s a skill, just like multi engine or instrument flying & the methods for teaching it are sound and have been around a LONG time.

  21. @nsplayr What’s interesting is every gay friend I have absolutely cringe at the “pride movement/celebration” in its current form. It disgusts them. They, as a group, sought out years ago to have the same rights as others, namely marriage (and the legal, tax, etc. implications that went along with it). It wasn’t about “water boarding” society in gay pride. In fact, their views today are very in line with many espoused above…you do you, let me do me, and we can coexist without giving a shit about each other’s private lives. Sounds good to me, but attempt to shove your personal lifestyle choice down mine or my kid’s throat? Yeah go fuck yourself (that’s a general GFY, not directed at you personally). With the shit that’s in schools these days, maybe all the hetero people should start replacing those window sticker families with silhouettes of dudes banging chicks, you know, to show their hetero pride. Don’t like it and fully support it, than you’re a POS bigot! In reality I would not support that one iota more than I support this current pride bullshit. Your sexuality should not define you, nor should it be plastered all over in public, whether you bang chicks, dudes, or trees.
