Russia is gonna have a huge male/female disparity in the opposite direction as China. I wonder how the average Anastasia 22 year old feels about a quazi-arranged Chinese marriage. Either that or Russianbrides.com is about to get cheaper due to the supply surplus.2 points

My 12 year old grandson saw it twice, once with his DAD, and again with me. That was a few weeks ago. Yesterday he wanted to debrief the F-14 fight with the Felons. Of course he had no idea what a Tomcat even was, so we debriefed with hands and drawings. He thought Hangman was super cool for saving Maverick and Rooster. Eight years from now a bunch of new UPT students are going to show because of this movie.1 point

You all can have her, looking at her teeth and having to listen to that whine is more than sufficient to make one want to gouge their eyes and ears out.1 point

This is just Fing Epic!!! Using the website below you can send a donation and Ukrainians will let you be a part of "killing orcs" (Ukrainian slang for the goblin like Russian invaders). Once you send a donation they will write your message on an artillery shell, make a video as they sling it at the orcs, then send you the video. As of this morning you can sign an M777 Howitzer, last night it was a T-72 so I am guessing they are rotating around a bit. Great way to crowd source a military defense. https://signmyrocket.com/1 point

I’m sure they be fine with it. Asian nations are known for their acceptance and lack of racism toward other cultures.1 point

I feel you there. Though I didn't have a lifetime dream of flying in the Air Force growing up. There is more to flying in the Air Force than a paycheck. I enjoy my job. I like my coworkers. Job satisfaction is high for me right now. I'm also at the end of my career and am transitioning to the civilian sector where my flying training will be properly valued (at least by second year pay--I don't believe that the airlines pay well out of the goodness of their heart). I'm proud of what I've done in the Air Force, I'm grateful for the places I've been, the people I've met, and the missions I've flown. So many people in life are just angry. Angry at "the Air Force", angry at "the libs", angry at whatever. I also understand that many have had negative experiences in the Air Force. I have too. I was non-vol'd to Afghanistan for 364.5 days during a time where Greens were killing Blues. But I also had doors open from that experience that served me well later in my career. I wish I made $300/hr plus profit sharing in the Air Force. I'd stay longer. But the money has been good enough and now I'm moving on. And a great big "thank you" for those who leave after their UPT commitment is up too! You served. Most Americans can't say the same. Go make that bank. Buy that boat, plane, or second wife. Enjoy life. Be happy. Staying in the Air Force isn't for everyone. But it is for some.1 point

It would be a shit show, but the real entertainment would be watching his attorneys for the 11 hours. They'd be sweatier than the characters in top gun.1 point

The current situation with the CDC is complete lunacy and not connected to science or logic. Recently the U.S. dropped the requirement for foreign visitors to show a negative test, they only have to prove they have been vaccinated. As demonstrated by double vaccinated and double boosted Biden, the vaccine does NOT stop infection. That means someone could have an active infection but as long as they are vaccinated....Come on in man. There is a further disconnect playing out in the press surrounding Novak Djokovic who is not vaccinated. He had COVID in November, his natural immunity is ikely much stronger than most people who were vaccinated when the vaccine first came out. As of today they are not going to let him in the country to play in the U.S. Open. Oddly, this policy doesn't apply to illegals who are not vaccinated. They show up at the border and under the Biden Administration...come on in man. Again, I am not against the vaccine, I got it and the first booster, but we need some common sense here because this administration is flailing.1 point

Because they are on the tail end of the policy whip…. And have no brains themselves. Do you think those people became wing commanders by a proven track record of bold leadership? Or by dogmatic compliance? I expect many of those policies to quietly change, but some will remain. People are not rational beings, pride will factor into this. And then one day a new wing commander will be asked publicly why he still requires masking and he will reply “that’s not my policy” and, just like blues Monday, we will slowly stop doing something everybody hates that has no benefit.1 point

I'd add this: Why do you think you want to fly fighters? What do you know about the lifestyle? If you go into flying fighters with another goal in mind (astronaut) you will likely be a Sh!tty fighter pilot. TPS guys are typically not the killers in the squadron; they are normally the huge nerds. There's always an exception but you know yourself. Are you a linebacker or a punter? Going in late to the game with very specific (and hard to get) goals is a tough road. Realize there's a decent chance that if you go AD, you are going to end up with multiple years not touching an airplane and doing a job that pilots don't think of as "fun". Then you'll have to take a year off to go to school (probably twice) and start all over on your upgrades. Your 30's should be fun, being a wingman is *kinda* fun at the time but it's a thrash. All that being said, yes typically if you are the top of the class in AD, you get what you want. Age doesn't really matter last I checked. Good luck1 point
