I'd be in favor of something linked to public service or underpaid careers like teachers...Instead this is going to a bunch of shithead grad students who have worthless degrees in Equity Studies.6 points

Despite what the panzies say, Reno will be a "covid free zone". So... are you going? Would certainly enjoy saying hi to anyone from here that stops by. If all goes well. I'll be there displaying (static only) the A-37B at the National Aviation Heritage Invitational... a judging event for "older" aircraft. The story behind this airplane is amazing. For example, it was flown by the South... AND North... Vietnamese air forces. Stop by and say hi. My good friend Mark flew the first display in it just 2 months ago... topping off a 20+ year restoration. It goes like a scalded cat. Mark's skills as a pilot are noteworthy. It will probably look a bit different since we will likely drop the smoke system, and put on additional underwing stores for more "authenticity".5 points

Normally I would say go back to the statue of limitations like you would for any crime but the federal statue of limitations for mishandling classified is shockingly only 5 years. Regardless, with Hillary and her actions we should go back and make sure she and the people around her who knowingly put TS/SCI on a private server never have classified access or government employment again. To what end...that's easy...The end would be justice. Equally applying to the law to everyone regardless of political party or elite status, but that's just me.4 points

Vote buying math - A $330B college debt forgiveness bill at $10k per person equates to 33 million people who’ll benefit. That is less than 10% of the US population. So, 90% of Americans will cover the cost for 10% including a crap ton of non-college graduates who make a hell of a lot less. This is a giant FU from crazy Uncle Joe to everyone who did pay their student loans back. The majority of college debt is held by graduate degree holders in non-marketable fields. Cancelling student debt is lunacy, you are rewarding people who don't pay their bills by taxing those who do pay their bills.4 points

instead of canceling debt they should put a interest rate cap on student loans. the predatory lending is outrageous (>10% interest)3 points

Yes. Murder is worse than mishandling classified. Are you suggesting they’re equivalent offenses? Should we execute or imprison for life every airman or soldier who misplaces a document? That’s a bit over the top, no? Even if you do think that kind of punishment is appropriate, I think you might also find the DOJ and every court in the land disagrees with your assertion. Yikes man. Hope you’re not in charge of anyone. 😬2 points

My understanding is that it was. The archives wanted to know if the executive was claiming privilege over the documents, and the Biden WH, being the executive, said no. This is the textbook definition of the “whataboutism” that I mean. What about Hillary, what about Hunter… What about we focus on the case at hand? Is it defensible for trump to have documents marked TS/SCI at mar a lago? Hillary's case wasn’t handled well, and I feel that way probably for different reasons than you, but on that we agree. So should we handle trump’s case badly also? I’m curious what your desired endgame is for this current, relevant investigation. If it’s anything other than it should be handled fairly and any people who committed crimes should be held accountable, I would be surprised, because you and I both know that’s the only correct answer. No one is above the law. TBH I’m also ready to tap out here y’all…you know my position and we’ve covered the same ground quite a bit.2 points

Got a call from the POC today, they are doing phone screenings right now, they had a PCSM score cutoff (didn't say what) to whittle the numbers down and they are sending final interview invites next week. 2 slots open and they only plan on inviting a small handful to interview2 points

Agreed. Especially since I haven’t seen anything from the administration addressing the underlying causes of the student debt crisis itself. I might be able to get behind some targeted relief, perhaps for those who may have been misled into taking out loans they could never pay, but without addressing the ‘why’ in how we got here, I have to say this plan paints with a very broad brush & sends the wrong message to future borrowers. Squarely disappointed by the executive on this one.2 points

I feel you there. Though I didn't have a lifetime dream of flying in the Air Force growing up. There is more to flying in the Air Force than a paycheck. I enjoy my job. I like my coworkers. Job satisfaction is high for me right now. I'm also at the end of my career and am transitioning to the civilian sector where my flying training will be properly valued (at least by second year pay--I don't believe that the airlines pay well out of the goodness of their heart). I'm proud of what I've done in the Air Force, I'm grateful for the places I've been, the people I've met, and the missions I've flown. So many people in life are just angry. Angry at "the Air Force", angry at "the libs", angry at whatever. I also understand that many have had negative experiences in the Air Force. I have too. I was non-vol'd to Afghanistan for 364.5 days during a time where Greens were killing Blues. But I also had doors open from that experience that served me well later in my career. I wish I made $300/hr plus profit sharing in the Air Force. I'd stay longer. But the money has been good enough and now I'm moving on. And a great big "thank you" for those who leave after their UPT commitment is up too! You served. Most Americans can't say the same. Go make that bank. Buy that boat, plane, or second wife. Enjoy life. Be happy. Staying in the Air Force isn't for everyone. But it is for some.2 points

I know financially it makes sense to get to the airlines ASAFP and never look back. I unfortunately suffer from delusions of grandeur and Stockholm Syndrome and don't really want to leave the job that I wanted to get for my entire life. I'm also not totally selfish and know that my family could really benefit from the extra $$ in an airline career. In my current and future job I will absolutely be gone from home more as an airline guy than an AF pilot. YMMV on that one, big time. It's a no brainer to me that (in my own situation) the only extenuating variable is money. Why not pay up? I have a unique perspective on all this stuff though as my dad was an airline pilot that went through not getting hired for awhile, mergers, furloughs, and 9/11. He punched early after 9/11 to try to get back in the AF as a 59 year old retired O-5 but they didn't want him to fly tankers so he just retired. Even I tried to jump right to the airlines in mid-2020 and that wasn't exactly good timing. All that to say is that I know more about the airlines than the average Joe that never experienced any of that stuff and has just been living the good life the last few years. Honestly the hardest part for me is thinking back on some missions where my crew and the team writ large was able to make a big difference and bring Americans home from some pretty hairy situations. I know that's stupid and you've got to move on but that type of feeling is nagging me more than I thought it would.2 points

No worries! I didn’t know that Wing just had a hiring board, their mission is awesome!! Good luck to you as well!1 point

You can hold everyone accountable, that’s fine. Where we disagree maybe is that I’m not a fan of going back years to re-litigate cases where no charges were brought. How far back do you go? To what end? ”Go back and run that bitch through the same ringer” is not a sound legal theory for equal justice under the law. And FWIW I don’t want to “run Trump through the ringer,” I want the law applied and the investigation to be thorough, no more and no less. If Hunter’s case is still pending, by all means investigate that to a logical conclusion. We agree that Hillary’s case wasn’t handled well, great. It is not defensible to have TS/SCI on her server, I haven’t defended that, nor is it defensible for Trump to have similarly classified docs (marked as such) in a random closet at his Florida golf club. Trump’s case is being investigated right now, let’s have the DOJ handle the case correctly.1 point

I do not agree with your understanding, likely some unsettled law. Harvard has a couple articles about using the SCOTUS cases that arouse during Watergate. Some indicating the current administration has the hammer, others think it should apply to the past President. It is likely to be re-adjudicated by SCOTUS because of this circumstance...Under your interpretation Biden can use it as a political weapon and release any of Trump's information. Sorry brother but this is absolute horse crap, was it defensible that Hillary had SCI on her server? For the record, I do not advocate we handle Trump's case poorly, I advocate that if we are going to run trump through the wringer, GO BACK and run that horrible bitch through the same wringer. Hold her accountable, why is that so difficult for you to say? it is not ancient history...apply the freaking law EQUALLY TO ALL. I've made my desired endgame very clear. It is very simple and follows your theme that no one is above the law. 1. Investigate Trump and hold him accountable to the letter of the law. 2. Open the case against Hillary back up and hold her accountable to the letter of the law...don't be a Comey this time and change the verbiage of how she handle TS/SCI just to skirt the law. 3. Investigate the laptop and Hold Hunter and the "Big Guy" to the letter of the law. Stop the Wahtaboutism mantra and just agree all need to be held accountable...it is not rocket surgery.1 point

Shack! I actually don't care if they pay off the loans, *IF* they stop guaranteeing the loans and perpetuating this race to the top in tuition costs. Make the banks take the risk of they want to bet on 17 year olds pursuing English degrees.1 point

that's all well and good....IF people hadn't been forced to close their businesses, IF people hadn't been forced to take an experimental drug or get fired, IF kids hadn't (and in some states STILL) been forced to wear masks in schools, IF big tech hadn't censored only ONE side of the argument AT THE FUCKING DIRECTION OF THE US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AKA CDC hell NYC and LAX STILL "require" MASKS in the airport. thankfully people with a brain don't wear one. but hell man it's not fucking over. IF all those things hadn't happened i'd tend to agree with you...no problem. But all that shit did happen. and the decision makers were wrong. hundreds of thousands/millions of lives were fucked up. there needs to be accountability.1 point

Yep, sure did. And I didn’t even have to post it twice. Guys have been saying to “vote with your feet” since at least 2014. How’s that working out for us? Congress controls the purse strings, they just don’t think we have a problem because that’s what the senior leaders are telling them. They aren’t in the weeds everyday like we are, so they believe them. I also don’t believe it’s going to happen, but instead of bitching about it I’m at least saying something to somebody that in theory should be able to change it.1 point

Amazing how members on this board call out commanders for favoritism given to shiny pennies or unequally enforced actions leading to lack of credibility and can't see those same issues applied to the federal government.1 point

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/02/10/trump-records-classified/ “Some Trump records taken to Mar-a-Lago clearly marked as classified, including documents at ‘top secret’ level” I look forward to a robust condemnation from my single-issue voters who passionately care about the Presidential Records Act, document retention and classified storage 🤣 I keed…but only a little bit. Committing crimes is bad and folks should really try to avoid that.1 point

There’s a statute of limitations with different timelines for different crimes for a reason. Murder is really bad. Mishandling classified is also bad, but less so. Kinda makes sense dontcha think? Litigating a crime (that has already been investigated by the FBI) outside the statute of limitations ain’t gonna happen, no matter how hard some stomp up and down. Sorry. This “woe is me, life is SO unfair for conservatives” attitude is hilarious. Think about it. In the last decade Republicans have gerrymandered the shit out of just about every district that matters, denied a Democratic administration a Supreme Court pick, elected the guy from ‘Home Alone’ (the second one, right?) president, made a couple VERY conservative additions to the USSC (which will have a drastic and lasting impact on generations of Americans), built “the wall”, had some really fun rallies, created a whole spectrum of conservative media to browbeat the left with, witnessed Mitch McConnell continue to live despite being apparently 130 years old, and the list goes on and on. Republicans have been winning for a while now. But it’s just so darned UNFAIR that President Trump doesn’t get to keep classified in his house years after leaving office. Cry me a river. Lock Him Up.-1 points
