  1. While Bernie Bros and AOC types whine and rant about Big Oil, Big Pharma, and whatever other Big, Big College has far exceeded all others in the rate of increase in price. But the biggest supporter of the Leftist Libs are College educated white women so FJB is paying off his base.

  3. Another angle: “Free money” gov bailout - now where’s the incentive for universities and lenders to reduce costs and rates? This in reality rewards universities and lenders for their actions. I think most people are in general agreement that the cost of college and their buddies in the student loan business are out of control, but why do people simultaneously think dumping gas on the fire will put it out, because that’s essentially what is happening. Let’s not also forget the impact on the deficit and fucking over millions who did pay for their degree/those who couldn’t afford a degree and were responsible enough to not take a loan out they couldn’t pay back.

  4. I think the vast majority of readers on this site agree with you. We have a lot in common here and I wager 99% of us could fly missions together, do well, and like each other afterwards. I like everybody I work with. Which is why I am interested in these threads: I’m not talking to Internet trolls (we do a good job identifying those types), I’m talking to people with a shared background and reasoning abilities. I’m morbidly curious to understand how somebody like nsplayr, who is a warrior I know, could willingly embrace cognitive dissonance. He’s probably wondering the same about me! Despite disagreeing with each other, we have to find a way to live together. The alternative is shitty governments and corruption and tribalism like all of the places we deploy to. Or civil war. This is a hyper polarized time, and there are real consequences to our nation if half of them simply cannot stand to live with the other half. And I don’t want that, I love our country. So despite frustrating comms, which I frequently tap out of early, I do think there’s value in the discussion. And why censorship is anti-American and those who censor must be rejected.

  5. The government gave $200k to some green haired person to pay for a degree in intersectional drum circles with a gender queer emphasis at some Ivy league SJW indoctrination school so now taxpayers have to pick up the tab because, surprisingly, you only qualify for a minimum wage job as a Starbucks barista with such an education.

  6. I do not agree with your understanding, likely some unsettled law. Harvard has a couple articles about using the SCOTUS cases that arouse during Watergate. Some indicating the current administration has the hammer, others think it should apply to the past President. It is likely to be re-adjudicated by SCOTUS because of this circumstance...Under your interpretation Biden can use it as a political weapon and release any of Trump's information. Sorry brother but this is absolute horse crap, was it defensible that Hillary had SCI on her server? For the record, I do not advocate we handle Trump's case poorly, I advocate that if we are going to run trump through the wringer, GO BACK and run that horrible bitch through the same wringer. Hold her accountable, why is that so difficult for you to say? it is not ancient history...apply the freaking law EQUALLY TO ALL. I've made my desired endgame very clear. It is very simple and follows your theme that no one is above the law. 1. Investigate Trump and hold him accountable to the letter of the law. 2. Open the case against Hillary back up and hold her accountable to the letter of the law...don't be a Comey this time and change the verbiage of how she handle TS/SCI just to skirt the law. 3. Investigate the laptop and Hold Hunter and the "Big Guy" to the letter of the law. Stop the Wahtaboutism mantra and just agree all need to be held accountable...it is not rocket surgery.

  8. If you are not tried in court, and there is no statute of limitations, a crime does not expire. You go back as far as the law allows and the crime occurred. If the statute of limitations has passed, public humiliation will suffice. You've obviously never been charged with a crime. I have, and believe me, "the law applied and the investigation thorough" is getting put through the ringer. Full stop. Doesn't matter how innocent you are. I'd like to see most of the assholes in Washington locked up, and I don't care what team they're on. But if it's not going to be fair, it would be better if we went back to the old days of ignoring *all* political corruption on both sides. At least then the voters feel like they are getting fucked equally. Whataboutism isn't a political trick, it's human (animal) nature. As with most liberal failings, ignore human nature at your peril.

  9. He explicitly stated his desire to apply the law in the same manner across the board, without prejudice to political party affiliation. That’s exactly the opposite of “political reasons.” You’re not this dense, stop throwing straw man bullshit at the wall and hoping it’ll stick. Are you for or against cases being revisited and subsequent charges being filed many years down the road, e.g. a 40 yr old murder? Since Hillary wasn’t charged, there is no double jeopardy issue here. How is revisiting her with the SAME scrutiny as Trump (or anybody else for that matter), and potentially bringing up charges in the future any different in the grand scheme of things? Why do you view that as a bad thing?

  13. Despite what the panzies say, Reno will be a "covid free zone". So... are you going? Would certainly enjoy saying hi to anyone from here that stops by. If all goes well. I'll be there displaying (static only) the A-37B at the National Aviation Heritage Invitational... a judging event for "older" aircraft. The story behind this airplane is amazing. For example, it was flown by the South... AND North... Vietnamese air forces. Stop by and say hi. My good friend Mark flew the first display in it just 2 months ago... topping off a 20+ year restoration. It goes like a scalded cat. Mark's skills as a pilot are noteworthy. It will probably look a bit different since we will likely drop the smoke system, and put on additional underwing stores for more "authenticity".

  14. Shack! I actually don't care if they pay off the loans, *IF* they stop guaranteeing the loans and perpetuating this race to the top in tuition costs. Make the banks take the risk of they want to bet on 17 year olds pursuing English degrees.

  15. Your post goes off in a million different directions, but just on this point alone…who do you think I am exactly? Because I’m a 30-something straight white male with a nuclear family who owns guns, attends church regularly, serves in uniform and lives in a exurb in a red state. #RealAmerica I am by no means some “elite” Gender Studies professor who is out of touch on my yacht eating caviar with my Yale buddies, nor can I take a quick vacay to Cancun when the power goes out. The reason I know I’m better than everyone else is because I also happen to be a pilot, yet what keep me so humble is that I used to be a Nav. 😅 I just maybe paid some semblance of attention in school (public school in the south mind you), and can point out common logical fallacies, like whataboutism. Drives me nuts. The problem at hand is that Trump had TS/SCI in his golf club back in January, failed to hand it all back when ordered to do so, and then the FBI paid a visit and found even more TS/SCI in early August! Seems bad! It’ll be especially bad for him if the DOJ listens to whatever esteemed BO.net dude it was that wants mishandling classified punished more harshly than murder 😬 Anyways, carry on, time to throw my phone in the ocean like I keep intending to do 🍻

  16. I don't think I could ask for a better proxy for the generalized problem with liberal/democratic thinking. For that I am grateful. In fact, they are inherently good. But they are also very susceptible to the corrupting influence of power, which our political class have retained in greater quantities since the founding. It has wildly distorted the system as it was designed, wherein the founders recognized this corrupting power and used elections and checks and balances to fight it. But obviously they weren't able to foresee the technological and demographic changes that have made politics a much different beast 200 years later. This is not borne out in the polling data. In fact, Americans on both sides are increasingly likely to believe the people who disagree with their politics are in fact bad people. https://www.npr.org/2022/08/13/1117232857/americans-have-increasingly-negative-views-of-those-in-the-other-political-party https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2019/10/10/partisan-antipathy-more-intense-more-personal/ And now we are back to the generalized failings of liberal thinking. You believe you are qualified to determine what bad reasoning or logical fallacies are. That you would not afford the same freedom to the proletariat, who you are completely out of touch with. And of course, I'm not making the argument that their decision making will result in better outcomes than yours. In fact, I would bet on you if we could create an isolated system. But we can't, and what we know for sure is that while bad decision making will result in bad outcomes when compared to good decision making, taking away that decision making authority will result in far more catastrophic outcomes. That, at its core, is the foundational error in progressive thought. Individual entities working in massive systems without centralized control always outperform hierarchical control structures. We see this both in the success of individualist-based governments versus socialist governments, and free market economies versus communist economies. We also see this in all manner of policy issues, the greatest of which may be abortion, but gun control, transgender children and their medical care, the gay wedding cake debacle, and the Democratic push to regulate what news stories are suitable for public consumption. Everything the liberals have done to advance these issues in their favor have exploded spectacularly in their face. That is not because of skilled Republican political maneuvering, it's because when you piss on the leg of human nature, human nature turns around and punches you right in the face.

  18. Fixing root causes won't buy any votes. It also doesn't give you the ability to project virtue, real or not, so you can attack anyone who would dare to question you.

  20. There is a reason the 1st Amendment basically encourages discourse in all non-violent forms...its this - keep the discussion open and going, also your natural inclination; its a means to address grievances (literally written). The moment someone censors the political discourse unjustly, unnecessarily the whole should/can-reasonably-address-grievances-thing falls apart. Thus, politics via other means as a last resort. We are on this cusp of too much censorship. And in some ways, already past the edge. To me, this is what makes the unsealing of documents so interesting, revealing the reasoning and justification behind action and/or inaction when action is warranted.

  21. You and others might have a leg to stand on as far as the “ignore the past and let’s do the right thing!” tack had the whole shut our eyes and pretend it didn’t happen gone way outside of just Hillary Clinton. Her entire inner circle and everybody on her staff was negligent and should have lost their clearances immediately following the revelations of what happened. Instead it was a meme joke to the left with “buttery males” while nobody connected to that shit show lost a clearance. You could still look them up in JPAS. Likewise, nobody is calling for Trumps staffers to face any kind of punishment just that they want him jailed like he was sitting in his room tweeting off cell phone pictures of papers from SAPs and STO stuff. The problem with suddenly pretending to be concerned now is that it’s intellectually dishonest to argue that conviction when we’ve seen just how far it will go ignored to not punish anybody on a political side, not just the key Target political bullseye in Clinton or Trump. 22. I’m torn on this one because it won’t make any real long lasting difference until the college-industrial complex gets completely revamped. And a massive “2” on predatory student loans needing to get axed.

  23. Being negligent with confidential isn’t the same as selling/leaking national treasures in the form of nuclear material or HUMINT case officers. If some shitbag decided to sell our plans for an operational NGAD (if it existed…right?) to the Chinese, where does that rank against some crackhead who stabbed another crackhead for a poncho?

  24. Normally I would say go back to the statue of limitations like you would for any crime but the federal statue of limitations for mishandling classified is shockingly only 5 years. Regardless, with Hillary and her actions we should go back and make sure she and the people around her who knowingly put TS/SCI on a private server never have classified access or government employment again. To what end...that's easy...The end would be justice. Equally applying to the law to everyone regardless of political party or elite status, but that's just me.

"President Biden’s bold action is a strong step in Democrats’ fight to expand access to higher education and empower every American to reach fulfillment" - Election year Pelosi vs. "People think that the president of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness. He does not. He can postpone. He can delay. But he does not have that power." - Non-election year Pelosi

  27. Come on man...it wasn't up to the Biden admin to assert executive privileged on those documents. The WH had zero business being any part of that discussion. More will come out, just like the whistle blowers form the FBI that have come forward and said the FBI purposely tried to minimize the laptop. I do use reader view, but don't read the Post all that often, just happened to see the link to their story. There has an will continue to be a flurry of legal filings around the constitutionality of what happened, but just like buying votes...I mean forgiving student debt, timing just before the mid-terms is key to both of these stories.

  29. that's all well and good....IF people hadn't been forced to close their businesses, IF people hadn't been forced to take an experimental drug or get fired, IF kids hadn't (and in some states STILL) been forced to wear masks in schools, IF big tech hadn't censored only ONE side of the argument AT THE FUCKING DIRECTION OF THE US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AKA CDC hell NYC and LAX STILL "require" MASKS in the airport. thankfully people with a brain don't wear one. but hell man it's not fucking over. IF all those things hadn't happened i'd tend to agree with you...no problem. But all that shit did happen. and the decision makers were wrong. hundreds of thousands/millions of lives were fucked up. there needs to be accountability.

  31. I feel you there. Though I didn't have a lifetime dream of flying in the Air Force growing up. There is more to flying in the Air Force than a paycheck. I enjoy my job. I like my coworkers. Job satisfaction is high for me right now. I'm also at the end of my career and am transitioning to the civilian sector where my flying training will be properly valued (at least by second year pay--I don't believe that the airlines pay well out of the goodness of their heart). I'm proud of what I've done in the Air Force, I'm grateful for the places I've been, the people I've met, and the missions I've flown. So many people in life are just angry. Angry at "the Air Force", angry at "the libs", angry at whatever. I also understand that many have had negative experiences in the Air Force. I have too. I was non-vol'd to Afghanistan for 364.5 days during a time where Greens were killing Blues. But I also had doors open from that experience that served me well later in my career. I wish I made $300/hr plus profit sharing in the Air Force. I'd stay longer. But the money has been good enough and now I'm moving on. And a great big "thank you" for those who leave after their UPT commitment is up too! You served. Most Americans can't say the same. Go make that bank. Buy that boat, plane, or second wife. Enjoy life. Be happy. Staying in the Air Force isn't for everyone. But it is for some.

  35. There’s a statute of limitations with different timelines for different crimes for a reason. Murder is really bad. Mishandling classified is also bad, but less so. Kinda makes sense dontcha think? Litigating a crime (that has already been investigated by the FBI) outside the statute of limitations ain’t gonna happen, no matter how hard some stomp up and down. Sorry. This “woe is me, life is SO unfair for conservatives” attitude is hilarious. Think about it. In the last decade Republicans have gerrymandered the shit out of just about every district that matters, denied a Democratic administration a Supreme Court pick, elected the guy from ‘Home Alone’ (the second one, right?) president, made a couple VERY conservative additions to the USSC (which will have a drastic and lasting impact on generations of Americans), built “the wall”, had some really fun rallies, created a whole spectrum of conservative media to browbeat the left with, witnessed Mitch McConnell continue to live despite being apparently 130 years old, and the list goes on and on. Republicans have been winning for a while now. But it’s just so darned UNFAIR that President Trump doesn’t get to keep classified in his house years after leaving office. Cry me a river. Lock Him Up.
