uh there was a giant conspiracy. look at the emails that were sent internal to the CDC and the memos sent to big tech to censor opposing ideas. that's factual my man. the fact is the CDC and federal government conspired with twitter specifically (and big tech in general) to censor and ban private citizens and doctors dissenting opinions. the email chain is there. alex berenson has the email screen shots. (reference joe rogan episode #1864) its bad. and there's gonna be hell to pay. and no, alex berenson isn't some right wing nut job...you can look him up. as far as pigeon hole....well seems like biden's done that for me. you either voted for him or you're "extremist" and a "threat" to the republic. in regards to pigeon hole related to the pandemic...there's only two sides. you either approve of how FL type states handled it...or you approve of how CA type states handled it. there's no middle ground. you're either for individual rights and choices or you're not. that's not a pigeon hole or strawman. i'm amazed at how many citizens blindly trust their daddy government and will never hold it accountable for gross violations of their constitutional rights.

Don’t know that I have an overall prediction at this point but the Ukrainians definitely seem to have the initiative/operational momentum. If you look at Oryx on Twitter the amount of equipment Russia has lost up north over just the last 3-4 days is pretty significant. Russia still has pretty large reserves but their manpower and morale problems, as well as logistical limitations, are starting to really show. Maybe the Russians might decide it’s time for a change in who’s in charge after this absolute abortion of a military operation. It’s going to get increasingly difficult to hide the scale of this disaster, even if the Russian military is able to stem the current Ukrainian advance. In any case I’m happy to continue to watch the Ukrainians kick the shit out of the Russian bear with the help of my tax dollars.

But that doesn’t resonate very well,” he said. “We all have work to do to understand the impact on recruiting and retention.” Ultimately, Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop, et al, all have highly paid lobbyists on Capitol Hill, looking out for those companies, working to keep the money flowing. There is something like 325k people on active duty in the Air Force. Who is their lobbyist? Who is looking out for them on Capitol Hill, to ensure they get a fair piece of the budgetary pie? The answer is no one. Absolutely no one of consequence is going to stand up on Capitol Hill and argue for less funding to F-35s and more to personnel. Folks complaining about cuts to things like Special Duty Assignment Pay need to recognize these facts, and act accordingly. Some truth to this. The old Charlie Beckwith quote “I’d rather go down the river with seven studs than with a hundred shitheads” comes to mind. There are a lot of studs, and a whole lot of shitheads. Would be great to better support and grow the studs, and weed-out the shitheads, but the entire personnel system isn't really structured to do this. Probably more accurate to say the existing personnel system is designed to coddle the shitheads, and hope enough of the studs stay in to keep the wheels from coming off.

My FCC permit is in the same plastic sleeve as my ATP and medical, so I really don't see the big deal if they would ask for it. That said, outside of type rides, I've never once been asked to see my FCC permit (or asked for it as a Captain). I'm not sure why it's still a thing, it's ridiculous since it's simply a paperwork/money drill. But there seems to be trend of guys who act like you're ruining their day to open their wallet and show some paperwork.

Go back and read this thread from 18 months ago, people here were claiming there was a scientific consensus when in fact there was a conspiracy to paint a scientific consensus and drown out opposing voices. And those opposing voices turned out to be correct. Now revisionist history is taking place right in front of our eyes: Democrats are claiming they did not want schools closed, Trump pushed the shot, and it was just a wild time and nobody really knew what the right answer was so they defaulted towards safety. All of that completely false. As I look at the many failures compounding within our society, from skyrocketing urban crime to a foolish Covid response, to a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan, runaway inflation, etc. there is a single thread which connects them all: lack of accountability. People in senior leadership positions made deliberate decisions with disastrous results, and they are never held accountable. All of our problems will continue to worsen until people are fired & thrown in jail when they deserve it. And given the severe damage to children he perpetrated, I would like to start with Fauci.

In this case, somebody hired off of merit would not look like they were reading statements from a book. They would look like somebody professional enough to think on their feet and talk extemporaneously with honesty about the questions that are asked, not somebody who spends 80% of every briefing reading pre-written notes that may or may not answer the actual question. Count the number of “umms” and “ahhhs” and tell me the average undergrad communications major couldn’t do better. Psaki was a liar but at least she looked competent at speaking in public.

I never said the government response, or fauci, or the CDC were perfect. I also specifically already mentioned that masking kids makes no sense, tech censorship is bad, and mandates on the civilian population were a gross overreach. So just calm down for a second. My whole point here is that we live in a big country, and a lot of people reacted in knee jerk fashion with incomplete information to this thing in a lot of different ways. Some states did nothing and some states went batshit with rules. And to a certain extent.. that's their prerogative because our government is designed that way. Were there some severe infringements on peoples rights? Yes. Were there states that sat on their hands and exposed potentially vulnerable people to needless risk? Also yes. Hopefully we can investigate and debrief both. But that is the nature of living in a very large country that pushes governance down to a low level. So cobbling together the reactions you specifically don't like a-la Fox & Friends and insinuating a giant coordinated conspiracy is silly.
