The liberals simply don't care. The country is being run by a demented shell of a man, I pray he doesn't hit the nuke button reaching for his Life Alert. As long as they got rid of the Orange Man. Truly criminal that his wife and staff are allowing this to continue.7 points

Dude it’s because you’re blaming your own country based on theory and conjecture. You’ve come up with a hypothesis based on news articles. Were it an airplane accident, the cultural mantra of “wait until the investigation is complete” would’ve stopped you from publicly drawing conclusions. Yet in this case, you’re willing to do so and throw your own country under the bus. For nothing. That’s why people hate conspiracy theorists.4 points

Then maybe consider not re-posting the adversary’s propaganda. You don’t like the current politicians running the country. Fine. You don’t like them so much you’re willing to amplify Russian propaganda (Don’t fool yourself. That’s EXACTLY what you’re doing.)? Not fine. You’re falling into the Russian trap. You know, the one where they amplify our political and cultural differences & try to convince us that the real enemy is the hipster in the pussy hat or the neighbor with the gun collection and not the belligerent dictator seizing land & committing atrocities overseas? Putin’s an ocean away after all. What threat could he possibly be to us when we have so many existential threats right in our own neighborhoods? Standing by for downvotes from the usual suspects…2 points

Dillon Vakoff -a former 1C for the 96th BS at Barksdale- was something that was right in the AF, and a good person that the Red Devils enjoyed on their team. https://kdvr.com/news/local/officer-vakoff-heart-of-gold-always-smiling/2 points

Free speech is great. You can say whatever you like. It’s a two way street though so don’t get all butthurt when someone calls you out on your bullshit. I stand by my assertion that amplifying enemy propaganda is not something that someone who loves their country generally does. I personally do not consider baseless accusations of one’s own country committing an act of war during a time of great international tension to be just “asking a few questions”.1 point

I don’t understand your point, perhaps you could elaborate on what subjects are and are not off-limits to discuss? Critical thinking and questioning the official narrative and listening to enemy propaganda would have helped our nation slow down the rush to war in Iraq circa 2003, and potentially have prevented that entire useless catastrophe. Of note, the “enemy propaganda” that they had no WMD turned out to be true. And our CIA expert analysis was false. Putin is a dictator, war criminal, and prolific propagandist. But when something strange happens in the world, there’s nothing wrong with asking a few questions. I guess I am a free-speech extremist.1 point

If a person doesn’t blindly and dutifully fall in line with the official government narrative (one that continuously demonstrates it’s ability to screw up), they’re parroting Russian propaganda. Every troublesome domestic issue isn’t a real issue or concern, but the evil machinations of a foreign propaganda arm that permeates every facet of our society, but can’t win a battle in its own backyard or even convince its own citizens to fight the West. sounds reasonable. Those are awfully convenient positions to take as they allow for no critical thinking, no dissent, no questions. A familiar tactic of late. Who is falling into whose trap?1 point

Brother, I get it. I'm not rooting for Russia and Putin. They're absolutely shitty. But I never was in danger of living under a Russian totalitarian state. What I am concerned about is truth, deception, righteousness, and minimizing the loss of life. I love my country and I truly appreciate the service of everyone who wants to defend it. But what enemies are we sworn to defend it against? It is uncomfortable to consider that my side, the good guys, could possibly be involved in making poor decisions that result in a worse end state. But I also can't turn a blind eye to the fact our current leadership has fucked up nearly every issue it's faced with. This current leadership engages in relentless propaganda and deceit surrounding the pandemic, the economy, our justice system, democracy, AFGHANISTAN?. I don't want to believe that we or our allies would risk escalating conflict and plunging millions of european citizens into insecurity and a dramatically reduced standard of living for an unpopular agenda, but the trends indicate otherwise. I simply don't know... but the probability certainly isn't zero.1 point

Also, on that same day the Polish and Danes celebrated the opening of the new pipline, Poland's representative to the European Parliament tweeted "Thank You, USA" with a picture of the ruptured Russian pipeline. But Russia did it to themselves. LOL https://twitter.com/radeksikorski/status/1574800653724966915?s=20&t=EVGK_oNrRPwInUud01r_Eg1 point

Problem is, neither of these groups know what they’re talking about. LTs are as dumb as a container of rocks, and Lt Cols are far too removed from these types of programs to know any better either (especially if they’re teaching at the zoo). Go find the Capts out there who can give you the real scoop.1 point

Phoenix Reach is AMC’s cross flow program for Captains. It’s typically tanker-airlift or airlift-tanker. People will also flow to different airframes following airframe divestiture (C-130H several years ago, and KC-10 in the future). It’s not as common at the Sq/CC level, but many OGs and WG/CCs are given command of units that operate a plane they didn’t previously fly (which doesn’t always go so well, see Dyess AFB). Generals can tell a lot of airmen (airlings woke verbiage?) to f themselves. Who is the General scared of offending, cop killers? Another useless “leader”. I’m offended lol. I think people in the future will discover the movie “Idiocracy” and give Mike Judge a Nostradamus like status.1 point

Just in time for the largest LNG terminal to go on line. https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/cheniere-go-ahead-with-texas-corpus-stage-3-lng-export-plant-2022-06-22/ Interesting thing going on here. Russia Gas lines flow through the Baltic or Ukraine. They have limited capacity to ship gas on the sea. For as bad as Russia has handled this war and watching ppl flee maybe they did blow the line to drum up support somehow? If the US did this it basically secured energy independence for NATO members. They will be forced to get it from the North Sea and supplemented from the US. The line can be repaired eventually and maybe that is leverage NATO can hold over Russia to back down?1 point

Very strange story. All of the German & French military officers I still correspond with think the US did this. Seems extremely unlikely to me, but it also seems dumb for Russia to do this as it degrades their leverage over Western Europe. I have no idea what’s happening.1 point

I'll lead in with this: welcome to Baseops my sweet summer child...oh wait... WELCOME TO THUNDERDOME In general: in AMC, you remain in the airframe you were assigned initially. C-130 slick bubbas stay in C-130 slicks. (common misconception: C-130 slick dudes do not easily slide into the AC or MC-130 unless selected). C-17 guys stay in C-17s. 25% of that C-17 force is airdrop qual'd and you'll have to ask an airdrop guy what that's all about...not my world. In honesty, there a lot of sincerely and deeply experienced dudes on this board. The question you've asked has been addressed many...many...many...many.......maaaaany times, HOWEVER it may or may not have been addressed recently. The environment is changing rapidly with each UPT graduation. The short answer to your core question: "if I track C-X am I stuck in C-X" the answer is unknown. The real answer is that that the cross-flow program is highly active and highly political...and HIGHLY TIME SENSATIVE. If you fly transport (C-5/C-130), then the tradition crossflow wants to put you into a tanker (KC-135/KC-10/KC46)...and vs versa. That transfer is 100% dependent on luck and timing. I can't say anything at all about fighter to fighter transfers. I ain't gay, but those tubby bitches love the cock. Be the best you can at your job. When you're given a job (reads.airframe.you.didn't.want) continue to be the best at your job and you will have options. Succeed and you may find that you're airframe is actually what you wanted (often happens), or that it steppingstone you to where you needed to be.1 point

Bad day to be a Russian pilot yesterday. Seems the situation in the Kharkiv region is bad enough that the Russians are willing to accept high attrition of aviation assets to try and blunt the Ukrainian advance. Good to see the Stinger is still a leading distributor of MIG/SU parts across the globe.1 point

On the day prior to the Nordstream2 attack and opening of the Baltic Pipe line, a large protest was formed by German citizens to pressure the German government to reopen Nordstream 2. There were several reports that members of the German government were considering caving to citizen demands to lower energy costs and strike a deal with Russia and reopen it. That would have been undesireable. https://news.yahoo.com/germans-call-nord-stream-2-050655816.html?fr=sychp_catchall Video: https://twitter.com/dohelu/status/1575118767176155139?s=20&t=EVGK_oNrRPwInUud01r_Eg0 points

Timing is everything. Does it get any clearer? Polish and Danish Prime Ministers held a public ceremony to open the Baltic Pipe line on the same day Nordstream 2 was destroyed. From the article: "Leaders from Poland, Norway and Denmark have attended a ceremony to mark the opening of the new Baltic Pipe, a key stage in the drive to wean Poland and Europe off Russian gas. The pipeline will transport natural gas from the Norwegian shelf via Denmark and through the Baltic Sea to Poland. It is the centrepiece of a Polish strategy to diversify away from Russia that began years before Moscow’s February invasion of Ukraine triggered a global energy crisis. The flows from Norway along with supplies via liquefied gas terminals are central to Poland's plan. The country was cut off from Russian gas supplies in April, allegedly for refusing to pay in roubles. "The era of Russian domination in the field of gas is coming to an end, the era that was marked by blackmail, threats and extortion," Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at the inauguration at Budno in western Poland. Norwegian Energy Minister Terje Aasland said it was "an important step on the important road to Europe's independence from Russian energy". "We must do everything we can to eliminate energy as an instrument of Russian power," added Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. "Together we will defeat Putin." https://www.euronews.com/2022/09/27/baltic-pipe-norway-poland-gas-pipeline-opens-in-key-move-to-cut-dependency-on-russia0 points

Moose, I did not. You’re conflating “my country” with those making decisions for it. I’m also said I simply don’t know. To be clear, I don’t think our current leadership would directly commit such an act. They just to fund such things. Again, I love my country, enough to acknowledge when the probability of our leadership leading it astray is high.-1 points
